SRS needs to be banned. This is what happens when you get moral high grounders power. They are trying to threaten and coerce morality. I don't care if that shit stain of a sub reddit wants to sit there and bitch about shit they don't agree with.

Hell, i say this for anyone. If you want to sit on your front porch and scream and rant and rave about your ideology to people walking by, thats fucking fine. That is your prerogative. However, once those rants and raves turn to threats with actual teeth behind them, you are a danger. This shouldn't be allowed, and the admins should trash them all.

Violating peoples' privacy for sexual pleasure is a crime, and the violator needs a legal trial.

Yes this is 1000% true.

However, turning over someone's complete personal information to the entire world is an EXTREMELY dangerous act. There are some real nutjobs out there, and this guy could stand to get physically assaulted.

There are proper channels to follow, and vigilantism can lead to very unpredictable results, some which would drastically exceed established protocol and would violate fair trial rights.

The offender needs to have a trial for his crimes, not an internet tribunal.

I'm not sure why they wouldn't just go to the police with evidence instead of writing up this shit show on reddit? If they have enough evidence to get him charged and aren't turning it in then they're basically giving a pedo the go-ahead to either molest or creep shoot another person, and that's just fucking terrible. Not that SRS is full of level headed people... but I would think they would know better than this.

What are you shit talking? Nowhere do they say they're going to post his information online.
The guy apparently lives in Toronto, they can just as easily send their evidence and information to the Toronto police.

I think SRS did a good job closing down that thread. I'm sure at least of some of the pictures on there were from underaged girls. Because guys uploading pictures like that in the first place are horrible enough to get an even bigger kick from the younger ones. Not even speaking about the fact that posting pictures of people without their approval is illegal, let alone pictures invading their privacy.

I wouldn't mind one single bit if that guy would get "physically assaulted". If you're going to do something as stupid as that, openly starting something illegal, you deserve no protection.

That said, I'm not saying they should post his details online.
Just... Don't automatically assume something when there is no evidence supporting it. My guess is they'll contact Toronto authority.

He has already had his personal info doxxed.

I mean, the body of this says "We have your personal information. Don't try to deny it. Do X,Y,Z, or we are going to do something else for you."

Based on the context, the discussion pretty well hints to use of that personal information.

Murderers have protection. Rapists have protection. This guy hasn't even had a trial yet. We can't just go medieval and let everyone resort to their own means of justice. I couldn't support a government that conducts physical punishments on unconvicted citizens, or even implicit endorsement of it through mobs by its own negligence.

Furthermore, this message is in direct violation of reddit standards. Just because someone is violating himself, it doesn't give anyone else to join in violating other rules. It's a little bit too much "Chaotic Neutral" for my taste.

Yes, use of that information. Again, they might just as well contact Toronto police. Which is not in violation of any rules. If anyone on reddit was able to get his details it will be his own fault. It's not exactly impossible to stay anonymous on reddit. If you're going to do something illegal, you should at least be smart enough to completely withhold any personal information. And I never said he should get assaulted based on his information online. I was more going for the someone-catching-him-and-accompanying-boyfriend/brother-beating-him-up kind of way.
