    Actually reposts aren't even against the redditquette. The idea is that we (redditors) decide if information is valuable by the voting system.

    So yes, especially since the consensus last time was that the OP ruined the title, and the OP improved the title.

    That is certainly true but at some point there has to be a discussion about it. Reddit cannot become a place where we just try to think of new titles for the same posts as yesterday. I understand reposts are inevitable and they don't want Reddit to become only complaining about reposts but at some point that rule no longer makes sense. If you have been Redditing for more than a few months then you really start to feel the encroaching reposts pretty hard. The more you see the more you recognize. Even after a year I sometimes look at the accounts of reposters and I have upvoted some of their other reposts. I am just not interested in seeing nyah cat again with the title "look what I just made". There needs to be a way of dealing.

    All that has to be done is to have a higher percentage of redditors spend at least some time in /new. This way reposts won't appear as often as they do.

    Looks like people would rather whine about reposts than be more active at voting though... Go figure.

This is not funny, but since this sub is so easy to please, a nice looking gif will easily make the front page again.

      I'm really curious as to how exactly this effect was pulled off. What materials did they use to construct the various items? I'm wondering how you make something look like a lightbulb, yet be strong enough to break even an easily frangible object.

      It depends. It's definitely a combination of the materials being hit and the material of the things being thrown.

      For the lightbulb, it's been shaped in such a way that it's much less likely to break than normal bulbs. On top of that, a sphere tends to hide optical cues hinting toward its thickness, which leads me to conclude that it's a very thick, dense, spherical bulb in there.

      The brick that's being thrown at it is pretty clearly some form of loose aggregate of relatively uniform size, which is composed of powder. It looks a lot like the same sort of dust you'd see at a baseball diamond if you took some adhesive and pressed it into a brick. You can tell it's dust because of the way it aerosolizes after impact.

      The vase could easily be painted steel, and it's been secured to the post itself, probably by a large metal beam. The baseball bat is a bit trickier; I'm thinking a combination of pre-assembled balsa wood and powdered cork/sawdust.

      The eggstand is metal, and has been secured like the base. The egg is just some more painted metal. The hammer is similar to the brick; it's compressed powder which has been painted.

      I have no clue about the glass, but the bowling ball is a half-shell of that powder again, whose center isn't cured. It looks to be quite fragile, more so than any of the other objects.

            Don't know who downvoted you, but you're right. Most of the time, complaints about reposts dominate the comment section of any repost. It's one of the easiest ways to whore for karma on reddit.
