I visited Qingdao, the city the Tsingtao brewery is in, last year. Literally everywhere you go there are restaurants that have kegs sitting on the sidewalk with these bags. and TINY little stools. You walk up, pay around 40 cents (I think...something super cheap) and walk away with a bag of beer.

As for pouring, you hold both the handles in between your thumb and index finger on one hand, and grab one of the bottom corners with your other hand.

In the Philippines, When you buy a soda or something similar from a street vendor, they will either pour it in a bag for you, or they expect you to stand there and drink it so you can give them the bottle back. My roommate tried to walk off with a coke bottle and the vendor lost his shit.

That is the freshest way to drink Tsingtao beer, they highly recommend it when you take their brewery tour... Don't knock it until you try it :)

One time in college we ended up with a partial keg of beer, and all of the ice was quickly melting. Our brilliant plan was to put all the beer into milk jugs and soda bottles and shit until the next weekend, when we would drink it at another party. It was all flat as shit the next weekend, but we drank it anyway. People look at you weird when you're drinking beer out of a milk jug.

TsingTao kind of tastes like bad Heineken, the only thing wrong with the bag is that it is usually not anywhere as cold as you may want it (this goes for almost every beverage in China)

In Thailand I purchased many a bag of iced coffee. Much less waste than a cup, it was spill proof as it was tied around the straw with a rubber band, and it stayed colder longer as I carried it by the rubber band instead of transferring heat to it from my hand through a cup.

So really, the WTF is why does the USA go through so many disposable cups?

where im from in china, we used bags to hold breakfast too, like congee or noodles... plastic containers were just too expensive... the bags are good, u just put it on ur bowl, spread them, eat the food, then just throw the bag out, no clean up :D

In Boston (I'm sure other cities as well) back in the 50's my parents would be able to get pales of beer direct from the brewery to bring to their parents. Similar concept to the bag, I believe it was a far cheaper way to go.

this is extremely common in China. I lived in HangZhou for a summer. Beer & milk where in bags like these. I dare never to try milk in China. I dunno... I just didn't trust a lot of things in China, however, milk was one thing I dare NOT to try.
