I've been on that Champix drug and damn it works well.

No urges to smoke at all.

It's really all down to modifying my habits at the moment, like after meals, during work breaks, etc.

*edit, btw been smoking for 15 years. When i realized this was half my life, i had to do something.

Is that like Chantix? Probably the same thing. It gave me bat-shit insane dreams and I couldn't handle it.

I dont know. I've heard of poeple having bad reactions to the drug but for me, its actually pretty good weirdly enough. Not depressed at all actually feel... mellow!

Same, smoked for 3 years and been on it a week so far. I started having lots of dreams tho (I usually don't dream at all due to sleep apnea) it's still week one but I don't have that NEED to smoke now. Week 2 is coming and I have to quit cold turkey then but so far it is really cutting me back

This is how i did it. and when i caved and smoked it made me feel guilty because it meant i couldn't run as hard as i would have been able to if i hadn't smoked.

I quit smoking cigs 5 months ago after buying that Blu ecig. That kept me occupied for about a month and a half until it broke, then I just didn't want to smoke. I totally recommend ecigs to help you make the transition.

I looked into purchasing ecigs yesterday. I'm thinking it will help with the transition. Did you do the gradual decrease of nicotine or just go with the blanks?

I used high nicotine. Even that Didn't seem like much. Eventually they started to break and I just used them less and less often. It helped me because I could still smoke something/ play with the smoke.

Ya the ecig definately replaces the ritual of smoking, but it has its own ritual that is enjoyable to me like buying new flavors, charging batteries and using the slightly heavier cool looking black cig. The throat feeling is also slightly different, takes some getting used to. But using that thing for a month was key for me to quit, I want to spread the word. At my Walgreens they sell disposable Blu cigs that last at least a couple days for 10 bucks. At least give it a try. I also saw a commercial on Tv advertising Blu as a smoking cessation aid, I guess they are getting popular.

Good luck. When I would crave a cig Or was around smokers I would just pull that thing out and puff on it like crazy. Sometimes if I was drinking I would have an urge to actually smoke something, so I'd buy a cigar. They are gross to me and I never want them when I'm sober so If I had one when i was drunk it was never a problem .
