Victoria's Secret is awful. Not only is the quality only mediocre (I'd agree, OP's quality is bad), but VS is notorious for sticking women in the wrong size bra to make a sale. Heck, they can't even fit their models correctly. Even after photoshop, you can still normally see a lot of signs of a bad fitting bra--band riding up, "fat" on sides/armpits, quadboobing, raised gore, etc.

It's less about the brand, and more about the right fit. Have you heard the statistic that 80%-90% of women wear the wrong bra? That's very true, because most women do not fit into 32-40 A-D. Most women actually fit into 28-36 D-G. So, when you learn that you're not really a 36B, but really a 32FF, your selection becomes a lot more limited. Also, since US companies sell 32-40 A-D bras, they have no idea what the fuck to do past a D cup. It's completely arbitrary and fucked up. UK brands have standards set up, so the safest bet is to stick to them. Curvy Kate, Freya, and Panache are all good brands. /r/ABraThatFits recommends for US customers BraStop.com and LoveBras.com. Even with overseas shipping, it's still cheaper than places like Nordstrom, and you have much better selection. They certainly don't just carry plain white, beige, or black. They do, and then they have some boring/color hybrids (look at how pretty this bra is!), and they go pretty crazy (shiny jeweltones? Yes, please!). Btw, those models are sized 30G, and 30FF, respectively--around 30 I/J/K and 30 G/H/J in US sizing (I told you it was fucked up). Victoria's Secret would probably fit these women into 34B's or something. Such a tragedy.

At this point, I'd recommend showing this post to whoever you're picking out a bra for. Have her follow MyWifesBusty's Guide to getting a proper fit. When she claims she did something wrong, and it's impossible for her to be that size, have her come to /r/ABraThatFits, so we can convince her that yes, she is probably just around her measured size, and she needs to start trying on bras to save her poor boobies.
