Compared to Dettifoss and Skogarfoss, Seljalandsfoss ends up as kind of boring. If you tilt the camera a bit to the left, you'll see a camping and a bunch of busses.

I notice that usually when someone posts a pic from Iceland, there are many who comment on how icelandic names seem to be long and incomprehensible. In case you are wondering, the reason for their length is the fact that in icelandic it is common to add words together to make names, along with the descriptions like mountain, river, falls, glacier etc.

Here´s how famous American names would look if english had this tendency as well; Niagarafalls, Rushmoremountain, Mississippiriver, Siliconvalley. You get the picture.

Perhabs the most famous example is the wonderful Eyjafjallajökull. The name translates to "the glacier atop the Island Mountains". Or Islandmountainsglacier, if you prefer. :)

Aw this reminds me of the amazing two weeks I spent driving around Iceland last year. Best trip ever. If you ever want a real adventure get yourself good gear, rent a 4x4, go with someone that knows how to drive offroad properly and head off on one of the most exciting trips you'll ever have!
