[–]Nabkov 3 points4 points ago

Precisely, get so fucked up that you don't remember what happened.

Private party > clubs

The only case where clubs are great, is when they basically are your private party. (E.g. when pretty much all of the people there, including the DJ, barkeepers and the owner, are your friends.)

ya I get the same thoughts

My ears ring forever after leaving these places. I understand loud music, but jeez...

I'm almost sure that at least 50% of the people in clubs are people I could get along with or at least respect in real life. The thing is though that in order to properly go clubbing you have to follow a certain code of conduct that for some reason has been tailored to reduce the average person to a level of scum they would normally never dream of approaching:

The dress code, first of all, is heinous. I find it very hard to wear dress shoes to a non-formal even and not feel like a complete asshole. Then of course the idea is to stand out from the crowd, and the one-up-manship of club-goers over the years has resulted in things like 6'5" barrel chested men with their thinning hair bleached platinum blonde with a black skunk stripe and blue tips, professionally tweezed eye-brows and half-tinted designer sunglasses with 10-guage silver hoop earrings and jewel-encrusted skin tight neon t-shirts, spandex-denim flares and alligator shoes with toes that curl up like Alladin over-dosing on vodka redbulls and talking loud enough to be heard over the music from across the room.

How do you compete with that? I'd really rather drink alone. Hell, I'd rather be shot.

Just have fun, man. Get a few drinks in you and talk to people. I know clubs aren't for everybody but they can be awesome if you just cut loose.

[–]Crasha 4 points5 points ago

Talk to people at clubs?

[–]Fromps 1 point2 points ago

Yelling to people at clubs, and witnessing all the finger banging the world has to offer.

[–]Coryshepard117 2 points3 points ago

Most people at clubs are not worth talking to.

[–]RexLongbone 0 points1 point ago

If you never talk to anyone there you can't the ones that are worth talking too.

I call that time: Normal time.

I can’t remember the last time I found a human in my city that I consider somebody who even deserves to call himself a human.

“Badly programmed NPC” fits much better.

This is why you'll die alone and sad.

[–]scarecrowsuperman 2 points3 points ago

You're suffering from a common disease known as "Being a Cynical Asshole."

[–]LightningMaiden 1 point2 points ago

I have a question for you redditors. I don't like clubs. I think their too loud, sweaty, full of obnoxious people. Where do you go to have a drink where you can hear yourself think?

[–]Fromps 1 point2 points ago

If you can find a jazz bar, you've won.

[–]effingeenyus 1 point2 points ago

Well not a licensed restaurant or pub, they play music as loud as clubs. Most chinese restaurants have pretty well-priced beers, enough light to read by and great snacking/sharing food. The only annoyance is the occasional deafeningly loud slurping of one of the cooks on his break eating noodles at the next table. I usually take that as my cue to leave.

Watched this movie this morning. Just amazing.

[–]JokesOver13 0 points1 point ago

My friend (as you are now my friend for this), so many times have I had to withstand Rouge and Pinq Taco, so many times have I said this exact same line because this movie is one of the best I've ever seen...but never...never have I had the moxie to post it up in pride of keeping that esoteric wonder to myself. I now see that I should have shared the wisdom as you have....so that more can truly understand and set forth a better world...............................................................................................................................Upvote approved.
