When I was a kid a teacher told me that popcorn pops because the water inside boils, expands, and causes the kernel to pop. So, I thought that it was someone's job to inject water into the kernels. I thought there were factories where lots of people had syringes full of water and they spent all day injecting water into corn kernels.
