Hey folks. I'm the author of this fake facebook convo. I think it's awesome that a lot of people have responded well to it.

If anyone's interested, the original version of this, along with bucketloads of other NFL-themed humor, is at my site at www.profootballmock.com.

Thanks for posting this NRG1975!

[–]Ihateloops 10 points11 points ago

Enjoyed it. One issue. Unitas, not Unites.

[–]PFMock2 22 points23 points ago

Yeah, I mentioned in another thread how I spent an hour at midnight typing this whole thing at a website called fakeconvos.com. I thought I'd proofread everything perfectly, but of course, after I'd taken screen grabs of all my work, then uploaded it all to my site, then published it, only THEN did I notice that I'd left in a couple of typos, including "Unites" instead of "Unitas." And at that point I was like, "fuck this, I'm going to sleep."

So I choose to believe that Drew Brees is simply an awful speller. Not me, remember. Brees.

[–]Ihateloops 7 points8 points ago

Oh that Drew Brees.

[–]NRG1975[S] 9 points10 points ago

You are welcome PFMock2

EDIT: I found it on my Facebook feed, if I knew who to credit, I would have.

[–]TechFocus 14 points15 points ago

You mean the watermarks all along the side of the images didn't give you any indication of who to credit?

[–]NRG1975[S] -4 points-3 points ago

Call me oblivious ... lol

[–]WoozleWuzzle 3 points4 points ago

Don't feel too bad. It's pretty illegible, even now knowing what it says it is still hard to read.

[–]PFMock2 1 point2 points ago

I found it on my Facebook feed, if I knew who to credit, I would have.

No biggie. I'm just thrilled that so many people are seeing it. Thanks again!

[–]oldie101 1 point2 points ago

You're site is awesome man. Donovon McNabb vs. Peanut Butter Ice Cream. Genius.

No. No Schaub.

[–]ChimpyChild 2 points3 points ago

4-0 bitches!

[–]Randino 1 point2 points ago

That's pretty funny stuff ya got there.

[–]mcscissorhands 1 point2 points ago

Aaaand I think we crashed your server

Edit: it's back up

[–]dusters 0 points1 point ago

This is fucking hilarious, thanks!

[–]Ruddiver 2 points3 points ago

I have seen this all over the internet today. congrats. it's really funny.

[–]strallweat 1 point2 points ago

Oh man, I didn't want that to end. It was hilarious.

[–]RohanDavey_EliteQB -1 points0 points ago

Why weren't Charlie Batch or Rohan Davey involved in the "QBs with multiple Super Bowl rings" conversation? Charlie's still in the NFL even!

[–]MightyMinneapolis 1 point2 points ago

I usually get bored after more than a couple panels on imgur, but I stayed for the whole thing and was rewarded. Excellent.

[–]absolutsyd 35 points36 points ago

Not bad. Could have maybe used Favre popping in and saying he was thinking about coming back or something.

[–]StateFairShare 26 points27 points ago

Yeah with a blurred out shot of his junk for a Facebook picture.

[–]Reidzy 8 points9 points ago

I enjoyed that much more than I thought I would.

[–]insidoubt 35 points36 points ago

I'll admit it: I laughed.

[–]Anjin 7 points8 points ago

I clicked expected stupidity and I also laughed. Does that make me a horrible person too?

[–]bartendalot 13 points14 points ago

Aside from being kind of funny, shows how many really-really good QB's there in the game today.

[–]Loathor 7 points8 points ago

3?

[–]bartendalot 1 point2 points ago

If you watch football and think there are only 3 "really-really" good QB's playing now, you haven't been watching long.

There are probably 5 first ballot hall of famers currently playing.

Then you add the next generation of QB's whose output remains to be seen but the talent to add to that list is there in guys like Luck, Newton, Stafford, RG3.

It's a great time to be a WR!

[–]Loathor 1 point2 points ago

Meh, I preferred it when they were allowed to play defense in the NFL. These days any scrub can throw for 4000 yards without even trying. I'll stick to the opinion that there are three or so really great QBs, twelve or so good ones, fifteen serviceable ones and Blain Gabbert.

[–]bartendalot 0 points1 point ago

You think Peyton, Brees, Rodgers, Brady and Eli aren't hall of fame shoo-ins? Maybe Big Ben too...

[–]Loathor 0 points1 point ago

Peyton and Brady definitely.

Brees, Rogers and Eli maybe. I think they are going to be judged differently going forward. This era of huge offensive output will probably be tempered in the same manner the late 90s and 00s were in baseball in terms of home run production. Big Ben is going to be iffy simply due to his of the field issues (which could change as his career moves away from that). Just my opinion...

[–]bartendalot 0 points1 point ago

You are right in judging passing numbers differently going forward, but Brees has been just fantastic for the last 6 years.

Eli and Rodgers need to keep producing at a very high level for another few years but all indications are that they will (barring injury). Rodgers had maybe the best year of any QB ever last year (45-6 TD-int). Eli has that whole magic clutch thing and his 2 superbowl MVP's pretty much seals the deal.

I'm on the fence about Big Ben-even with the year he is having due to the nature of that offense. I lump him in with Philip Rivers (possibly due to that draft year) as guys that need to show a bit more to get over the elite-hump.

[–]MadManMax55 -2 points-1 points ago

Stafford? Really? The guy is just Culpepper 2.0 and gets injured way too easily. It would be one thing if it was his 1st or 2nd year, but it's already his 3rd and he seems to be getting worse every season.

[–]LGTDBN 1 point2 points ago

Are you kidding me? The guy threw for 5,000 yards last season. How is that getting worse?

[–]davidprevails 1 point2 points ago

Last year he threw for 5,038 yds and 41 TDs.

Only Drew Brees (5,476 yds, 46 TDs, 2011) and Dan Marino (5,048 yds, 48 TDs, 1984) have thrown 5,000+ yds and 40+ TDs in a single season.

Saying he's gotten worse each year is really fucking dumb.

[–]TechFocus -1 points0 points ago

Yeah, it kept going back to Brady, Manning, and Rodgers as the "Elites".

[–]shantm79 9 points10 points ago

Brady, Manning, Manning, Rodgers, Brees... elites

[–]LGTDBN 0 points1 point ago

Super Bowl wins are a team stat, Eli Manning does not belong in that group.

[–]bartendalot 0 points1 point ago

There is no other QB in the game you want with the ball in the 4th quarter.

Also, look at how receivers fare once they leave that team - remember Steve Smith? Kevin Boss? Mario Manningham?

[–]shantm79 -1 points0 points ago

No response needed, just a downvote for you.

[–]j1mb0 5 points6 points ago

That was pretty funny. As a huge Giants fan, I can't get enough of the goofy/awkward Eli jokes.

[–]onektwenty4 0 points1 point ago

ksk always depicts him as kid who screams for mommy whenever pey-pey messes with him....

[–]muchachomalo 0 points1 point ago

They have video footage of that from when he was a kid.

[–]bartendalot 0 points1 point ago

Dude, imagine being a 12 year old and having 17 year-old Peyton Manning winging bullets at you in the back yard all day long?

They seem cool now, but I'd bet Eli makes Peyton kiss the second ring every now and then...

[–]shrididdy 9 points10 points ago

best part was when Romo came in

[–]roysta 2 points3 points ago

Why did this have to end?

[–]rytis 1 point2 points ago

next week, after their game

[–]oldie101 2 points3 points ago

This was awesome, good job, really enjoyed it.

[–]haatnip 2 points3 points ago

I teared up from laughing. Keep 'em coming!!

"In the time it took him to write 'Plus 1' he threw three interceptions". BAHAHAHHAHA

[–]handwritten45 7 points8 points ago

Am I the only one that thinks these are ridiculously stupid?

[–]gambalore 7 points8 points ago

They're a cheap knockoff of the the hilarious MLB Dugout chats.

[–]NRG1975[S] 7 points8 points ago

Link to one please, TIA

[–]gambalore 7 points8 points ago

Here's one about last season's crazy final day: http://withleather.uproxx.com/2011/09/the-dugout-greatest-night

[–]NRG1975[S] 1 point2 points ago

Thank you for the link. Being from Tampa, that makes me laugh a little.

[–]Y_pestis 1 point2 points ago

Thank-you! Googling for 'the dugout' and humor wasn't as productive as I would have hoped.

[–]HeroicGomez 0 points1 point ago

RedSoxFans: /gave up a month ago

[–]morrison0880 0 points1 point ago

It made me laugh, so...

[–]danjk 0 points1 point ago

I agree. It's just a bunch of clichés forced together. I didn't think it was very funny.

[–]GiantWhaleCannon 2 points3 points ago

Poor Joe. All he wanted was to appear self-confident, and now everyone's going to mock him for the rest of his career...because, yeah, he's not elite, and he never will be.

[–]GregEvangelista 6 points7 points ago

People were saying the same thing about Eli Manning early last season.

[–]kooley 0 points1 point ago

THat was great!hah

[–]CaptainSlippery 0 points1 point ago

Best thing I've read that involves the NFL in a long time.

[–]MrRiboswitch 0 points1 point ago

Well done haha

[–]enigma1969 -1 points0 points ago

epic

[–]MagicKnights 1 point2 points ago

By far one of the funniest things I have ever found on reddit. It's finds like this that keep me trapped forever

[–]StayDilated -2 points-1 points ago

so now go to facebook to see if it is real..fake.

[–]MagicKnights 0 points1 point ago

It's fake?!?!?? No way man! Now I'm crushed!

NOT....shit still is funny as hell

[–]StayDilated -2 points-1 points ago

[–]ctjwa 1 point2 points ago

This is fairly hilarous

[–]Slashbackred 1 point2 points ago

That was hilarious. Should do this in other sport (baseballe, hockey, etc.) with different positions and stuff.

One on the NHL lockout would be awesome.

[–]ajenius620 0 points1 point ago

[–]Palchez 1 point2 points ago

Gonna be a sad day when those two retire. Pourin' out so many 40's when it happens.

[–]Dundun 1 point2 points ago

Man, there was another site that did a bunch of these. Instead of using facebook, they used pictures from games that would sometimes be related to what the character was saying.

I remember there only being a couple of them, but they were all hilarious.... I've spend the last 20 minutes trying to search for it, anyone know what I'm talking about?

edit: If I remember correctly, Rex Grossman was a recurring character and always went deep.

[–]GrAy_F0xxx 0 points1 point ago

Seriously made me crack up, very nice.

[–]Sbstnce 0 points1 point ago

I was in tears, happy FRIDAY everyone and good luck this weekend!

[–]drunkstatistician 0 points1 point ago

Oddly, I like Eli more now that I read this.

[–]Justice551 1 point2 points ago

Epic conversation!!!

[–]spanky12493 -1 points0 points ago

Flacco pwns

[–]reedsparks -2 points-1 points ago
