Fucking super jumps. Blowing up the barrels to get the sniper. Carefully making that jump down off the ledge to get to the sword. Using different jumps to juke people out. I could go through and around that whole maps all while looking down. This map was the best, but then again Halo 2 in general is my favorite halo game.

[–]Antinode_ 23 points24 points ago

Yeah. Lockout and H2 are king. spent so much time on that game.. Your post reminded me how I loved the jumps on Turf, the best was multi-team oddball, and getting up on the broken roof area near the plasma pistol spawn.. ah good times.

[–]YourACoolGuy 9 points10 points ago

Wow, I forgot all about Turf. I loved playing zombies on that level. I just remembered Beaver Creek also. I loved that level.

[–]SwanGnBang 6 points7 points ago

Jesus. Since we're getting all nostalgic, Big Team Assault or Skirmish on Headlong. One of my favorite gametypes/maps. I miss Halo 2 days so much ;[

[–]YourACoolGuy 6 points7 points ago

You want to try nostalgic? Rocket launcher/sniper glitch anyone?

[–]SwanGnBang 7 points8 points ago

Yes, such a crucial part of the game for the time that it worked, the rocket/sniper/sword glitches, seeing someone fly across the map to get the kill, super jumps etc.. I remember glitching on headlong with my buddies for hours to get to the highest building, we called it the Shrine.

[–]YourACoolGuy 4 points5 points ago

I could talk about glitching on halo all day. I spent endless nights of my youth finding out glitches. I remember scissoring to get out of headlong lol.

[–]fatboygumption 4 points5 points ago

Not sure if this has been said, but it deserves to be said twice: Tremors.

[–]reaper6788 3 points4 points ago

OMFG turf! Red plasma rifle kicked ass. Fuck I miss that game.

[–]WombatDominator 2 points3 points ago

The superjumps on warlock were ridiculous. Loved that tiny map. Turf was good for flag too.

[–]Nathro 0 points1 point ago

Did anyone else ever play the gametype Michael Jackson on here?

[–]cultivatingmass 9 points10 points ago

Nothing beats some good old one flag 2v2 on Lockout.

[–]nserl 7 points8 points ago

Good ole super jumps. How I always won juggernaut

[–]Henry125 3 points4 points ago

THAT SHIT GOT INTENSE

[–]insidiousthought 3 points4 points ago

The fact you could get just about anywhere by jumping on the side rails/pillars and to the top of either side was great. And you could fall down the lift to surprise people by falling back and letting go of the control sticks was brilliant.

[–]khaosking 0 points1 point ago

Feel like I know you...friend did exactly that playing zombies on that map all the time.

[–]HogwartsNeedsWifi 38 points39 points ago

Snipe 1 Snipe 2 Snipe 3, Top Mid, Bottom Mid, Br 1, Br 2, Br 3, sword, library, Green room, Blue room, top blue.

[–]Griffolian 17 points18 points ago

forgot about the elbow

[–]TornInfinity 5 points6 points ago

Thank you for the nostalgia. :D

[–]jpark343 1 point2 points ago

Yelling to your teammates in a close TS game that could make or break your 50. I only did H3 competitively, but still reminded me of Blackout games I played. Some of the best times I've had...

[–]SquareSoft 33 points34 points ago

Reddit is so ready for Halo 4.

[–]toy205 8 points9 points ago

I'm ready for Halo for to take my virginity, because no-one else will...

[–]Kaon_Particle 28 points29 points ago

this was always my fav. This may or may not have been due to the fact that player one spawned next to the overshield and had a free run to the rocket.

[–]HydraCarbon 2 points3 points ago

Mmmm... Shotguns and pistols with no shields on that map. It was always a fucking mess.

[–]Chronza 78 points79 points ago

I'm sorry but Hang 'em High was the best Halo Map ever.

[–]ray_ragnarok_ 10 points11 points ago

fuck yea, seems like most people have forgotten about it tho. makes me sad :(

[–]Lt_McDinosaur 6 points7 points ago

So good someone made it for css

[–]cberra88 3 points4 points ago

Countless hours of my youth spent playing 2v2 capture the flag on this. This is truly the best.

[–]nola_mike 3 points4 points ago

I second this. I played so many multiplayer matches on that map, its unreal.

[–]pakimon 8 points9 points ago

1.Hang em High 2.Lockout 3.Guardian

In that order

[–]iscrap 6 points7 points ago

  1. Blood Gulch 2. Hang em High 3. Lockout

Guardian is my #4, followed by zanzibar as my #5.

I had a lot of fun fights trying to get that sword on Zanz.

[–]Isacc 2 points3 points ago

I don't even like the Halo series anymore, and I had to come here to upvote/make this comment.

[–]wallyworld560 43 points44 points ago

Sidewinder wins it (from the original Halo!)

[–]605632148061 31 points32 points ago

Someone used xbconnect.

[–]BaronVonWeiss 16 points17 points ago

I haven't heard that name in a decade, <3.

[–]Henry125 10 points11 points ago

i think hang em high is the best for Halo:CE

[–]OPsEvilTwin_S_ 6 points7 points ago

Sidewinder and Damnation were my favourite to play.

[–]FaceRockerMD 2 points3 points ago

This is so vastly underrated. My favorite by far.

[–]PenisFlyTrap 2 points3 points ago

Beaver Creek, man.

[–]The_Director 11 points12 points ago

Imgur Mirror, dropbox doesn't like heavy traffic.

[–]Smackover 216 points217 points ago

Sorry, but that isn't. This is the best Halo map.

[–]hatemebro 37 points38 points ago

You ever wonder why were here?

[–]crazyisraeli 17 points18 points ago

How does this thread not have more Red vs. Blue references?

[–]joedaddy8 10 points11 points ago

Its a PUMA!

[–]Xenocidal_Reaper 5 points6 points ago

Didn't I tell you to stop makin up animals?!

[–]ShiggityShank 6 points7 points ago

CHUPATHINGY!!!!

[–]JoshTheGrouch 7 points8 points ago

you know what? I fucking hate you.

[–]LucidUkulele 58 points59 points ago

Yep, nothing can or will ever beat blood gultch

[–]flogginmolly 43 points44 points ago

Except Blood Gulch.

[–]Birdslapper 19 points20 points ago

Especially Blood Gultch

[–]toy205 10 points11 points ago

Did I mention Blood Gultch?

[–]xSARGEx117x 19 points20 points ago

Blood Gulch: so good, they made it in every halo.

[–]IronOxide42 10 points11 points ago

...They didn't make it in Halo 3. And Valhalla doesn't count--that was more of a spiritual successor.

[–]Shade_of_Gray 4 points5 points ago

more like they re-made, then elaborated on it. They are totally different, but in good ways.

[–]IronOxide42 5 points6 points ago

Absolutely. But they are two different maps. Yes, Valhalla was created to give the same playstyle as BG, but it certainly isn't a remake like Coag or Hemorrhage was.

[–]Hubbell 12 points13 points ago

I still remember getting the sniper, setting up on the other teams base, and this little fucking 12 year old on my team would not shut the fuck up. Told him repeatedly to do so or I'd kill him, he kept going so I aimed at our base, he was jumping off the roof, headshot from across the map. He promptly quit. I felt fucking great.

[–]iscrap 4 points5 points ago

So many fond memories.

[–]C4_pants 6 points7 points ago

Not even the Blood Gulch attempt in Halo: Reach. Halo CE BG> Halo Reach BG.

[–]Sornos 60 points61 points ago

Gonna have to argue in the favor of Lockout. Blood Gulch is fun and iconic, but as a functioning competitive map, Lockout blows it out of the water. The skill ceiling is so much higher on Lockout due to it's three dimensional layout. You could jump up and down levels if you knew where and how to do it. That alone added so much to the map.

Then there was the organization of power weapons. The best tactical position was the top of the BR tower. You could see across the map and could jump down to the lower levels with ease. But, the BR tower had no power weapons. Holding BR meant losing out on weapon spawns. That promoted both mobility and memorization of weapon timers.

Overall, it was the little things that made the map. Like those little ledges above some doorways that you could jump on to get to upper levels. The remakes didn't have those.

[–]amedeus 6 points7 points ago

I was about to agree, but then I realized I have to give Blood Gulch the #2 spot, because Danger Canyon exists. My Halo PC brothers know. Nothing in Halo has ever topped getting drunk and squeezing a Warthog through the tiny tunnel between bases, and then hightailing it back down the main path and hitting that sweet jump on the way.

[–]clevername516 6 points7 points ago

I hold true that this is the best multiplayer map made so far.

[–]LukaCola 0 points1 point ago

Blood Gulch is the best map for Halo.

As far as multiplayer maps, it's got a long list to beat. It's certainly not the best of all time.

[–]arachnophilia 19 points20 points ago

i'm going to be honest here, and take the downvotes.

blood gulch is the single worst multiplayer map i've played on in any game, ever.

it's literally just an open field with a base at both ends. it's just kind of there. there's no cover, no organization. people like it because you can drives tanks, wraiths, etc, and because you have lots of distance with clear line of sight to snipe people. but those are the very things that make the map so genuinely awful. get the wraith, drive to the other end and fight the other wraith. then both wraith's explode. you snipe that guy across the field, and you get sniped. even the base design is uninspired.

in contrast, valhalla's 100% better just for the inclusion of high ground in the middle of the map. it breaks up the combat, gives you a point to fight over, and prevents sniping one base from the other. it can be used as cover, too.

[–]omphalos008 12 points13 points ago

What you hate about it is what everyone else loves about it - just put two opposing teams on opposite ends of an open map and let them duke it out. It's beautifully simple.

[–]abcdeline 5 points6 points ago

Its the contrast the map offers.

There's the tension of being out in the open, not being able to quite make out what is in the distance..on that ridge.. around that corner..

Then you make it to one of the bases, and its the tension of battling in tight quarters. Attack from the top, from the side. What's inside? Who or what is waiting outside?

Always loved the Bloody Gooch.

[–]Tyler1851 5 points6 points ago

Valhalla is not better. It is one of the slowest maps to play. Every match takes forever. Coagulation was the best incarnation of Blood Gulch.

[–]A_wild_fusa_appeared 6 points7 points ago

Not sure, ascension with the worlds cheapest sniping spot ever would have to disagree with you.

[–]OhhhhhDirty 6 points7 points ago

RRXYYRRXYY, BXR.

Damnit I miss H2. And Lockout was an awesome map, I still remember how pumped I'd get every time it popped up in the multiplayer lobby. There was a much greater skill gap in H2 than H3, in H2 it was much easier to get killed and much more fast paced.

I wish they would remake it with updated graphics, I bet people would play the shit out of it.

[–]Annihil8or 14 points15 points ago

Before all these high speed internets there was a test of teamwork as well as individual skill known as 2v2. The greatest maps for such conquests are as follows:

  1. Damnation
  2. Hang em High
  3. Chill Out

Anyone who played Halo 1 competitively (AGP Circuit) knows that Blood Gulch was for noobs that wanted to drive cars and / or run freely without getting killed. That's why XboxConnect was always littered with noobs hosting rooms titled "BG CTF bring many!! 8v8 or 4v4!!!1!"

[–]ForcedSim 3 points4 points ago

I seem to be the only person in the universe that hates Hang 'em High.

[–]Mango_Manning 2 points3 points ago

I miss playing XBC, you can still hop on and find a few games.

[–]stniesen 16 points17 points ago

Nah, Midship FTW.

[–]IronOxide42 4 points5 points ago

None of my friends liked Midship, and it always made me sad because it was my favorite. :(

[–]abiobob 4 points5 points ago

Wow can't believe how bad that looks nowadays, still my favorite map though.

[–]Nulavits 20 points21 points ago

[–]GADBabaganoosh 8 points9 points ago

That map was so hard to plant the bomb on. Oh my gosh, This game was so much fun, but no other game has made me rage more.

[–]chainfire95 3 points4 points ago

What map is this?

[–]Nulavits 9 points10 points ago

Headlong from Halo 2

[–]Doomshy 11 points12 points ago

The picture is actually the remake of it in Reach though

[–]rickolassmith 3 points4 points ago

Agreed and even its remakes were good.

[–]vanilla_freshness 3 points4 points ago

infinity canyon

[–]windg0d 3 points4 points ago

I really liked foundry. So many memorable game types. So many different permutations of the map. So many creative builds. So many truly infuriating yet fun games of infection. Dig to china will always have a place in my gaming heart.

[–]iownachalkboard7 3 points4 points ago

Zanzibar/Last Resort.

The best games of Halo I ever played were on that and Blood Gulch.

[–]Valiant91 5 points6 points ago

I'm sorry but this map would like to have a word with you.

[–]poseidon240 5 points6 points ago

ive spent nights on this map! good times.

[–]billups1 0 points1 point ago

Hang em high #1

[–]richards2kreider 2 points3 points ago

so many good memories...

[–]Loserblast 0 points1 point ago

The Halo games have had their fair share of great maps, Lockout among them, but I don't think anything can top Blood Gulch.

[–]errbodiesmad 2 points3 points ago

WHAT ABOUT ASCENSION?!?

D=

[–]pilkie02 2 points3 points ago

"No fuck you! Lockout 1v1!"

[–]Castigar2000 3 points4 points ago

I had so many good times on Halo 2, but ugh, best? The entire thing is grey and everybody just grabbed a shotgun/sword, crawled up the walls in the middle room and camped everyone who went in there. Let's not forget jumping down a hole in one of the upstairs rooms and being instantly raped by three guys waiting below, and the fact that grenade spamming was rampant here since the whole map was pretty much small, isolated rooms and corridors.

Foundation and Headlong, though, ohh yes.

[–]theCaptain_D 1 point2 points ago

This was the ultimate map for knocking around with your friends on splitscreen.

[–]tk-not21 0 points1 point ago

The worst for me...

[–]tonygenius 1 point2 points ago

Jeez, I do not remember it looking that bad.

[–]TheSynthetic 1 point2 points ago

Damnit! He super bounced!

[–]laterus77 0 points1 point ago

Rockets on this map was pure chaos, regardless of how few or how many people you had.

[–]Strafeh 1 point2 points ago

I remember other than this super awesome stuff; when everyone's XBL Motto ha something to do with "Five (Stars) BR!"

[–]warner1 0 points1 point ago

I remember I was always very good on this map and if I got the word if was even better.

[–]The-Dudemeister 0 points1 point ago

I always preferred ivory tower

[–]xPlayerWon 0 points1 point ago

yes....

[–]dtomato218 1 point2 points ago

after hang em' high.

[–]Xd3ltax 1 point2 points ago

So much nostalgia everywhere

[–]Bikkit 0 points1 point ago

Oh man, the hours I've spent on that map... Good times.

[–]ChaosRaiden 0 points1 point ago

Man, just going through the old maps filled me with nostalgia, Ascension, foundation, Zanzibar, Midship. Those were some good times!

[–]frazoid 0 points1 point ago

What...no love for Midship?

[–]TwoSnakeDollaFifty 0 points1 point ago

with shotguns

[–]NocturnalGamer[!] 1 point2 points ago

There is no best Halo 2 map, only some that are slightly better than others, but Sanctuary and Ivory Tower were seriously pure gold.

http://h2.halowiki.net/p/Ivory_Tower

[–]SwanGnBang 2 points3 points ago

good god... the battles that would go down in the main room of ivory tower. were legendary.

[–]SirPrize 1 point2 points ago

My favorite was Battle/Beaver Creak, but you don't see me making a [fixed] post about that now do you.

[–]SmiggieBalls 0 points1 point ago

Walshy used to dominate this map....

[–]mrfloyd2008 -1 points0 points ago

the best halo map is de_dust2 obvs

[–]youravgguy 0 points1 point ago

For halo 2 i agree with you, although i've spent a lot of time on headlong trying to push the water jug onto the banshe then to carefully transfer that into the second level of the base to get it on the block there. All to get the golden warthog which never showed. Ohhh and getting out of the map with the rocket glitch was awesome. H3 had some awesome maps, honestly you really can't beat the pit, just an amazing balanced map to play. Also narrows was awesome, aswell as guradian. The little trick jumps you can do to gain small advantages in halo makes the maps so fun. Bungie did make some pretty dam well balanced and awesome maps.

[–]Beeeeaaaars 0 points1 point ago

Action Sack, tug of war on this puppy in Halo 3 was the most fun way to waste time ever.

[–]YeltsinYerMouth 0 points1 point ago

Gonna rock out with my Lockout.

[–]LastGladius 1 point2 points ago

Give my left foot to be able to play Halo 2 Multiplayer on Xbox, those were some of the best times I have ever had.

[–]ImAngry 0 points1 point ago

for halo 4 i wish they could make an exact replica of this map. no bullshit blackout map or whatever the fuck it was called in halo 3 or whatever.

[–]Face55 0 points1 point ago

This map is one of the reasons it's been hard for me to get into newer Halo games as much as I was into the multiplayer of Halo 2. It was just such a good map, with so many interesting dynamics, nothing in the later games seemed to hold up. Even the remake of it in Halo 3 didn't fit the bill to me

[–]Kill5witcH 0 points1 point ago

Nope, xbc - BG - CTF.

[–]sudomv 0 points1 point ago

This place was always a party

[–]itsjaximus 1 point2 points ago

chillout.

[–]methshin 1 point2 points ago

But that's not Beaver Creek!

[–]Eyeless_Sid 0 points1 point ago

Blood Gulch or Timberland or any of the Halo CE maps would like a word with you.

[–]jawaka 1 point2 points ago

So. Many. Memories.

[–]ghostfacechillah 0 points1 point ago

Clicked expecting this one. Was not disappointed.

[–]MEGUSTA132 0 points1 point ago

The first time I ever played a Halo game was on this map; this was what made me fall in love with Halo. I do believe the last Halo 2 multiplayer server was on this map, too. Oh, the feels.

[–]Amytherocklobster -1 points0 points ago

Umm no, sadly not, in fact it sucks a big fat hairy dick. I hated that level since I was a kid. Blood gultch!

[–]Mango_Manning 1 point2 points ago

Prisoner from Halo: Combat Evolved was my personal favorite

[–]Dinocologist 0 points1 point ago

Swift nostalgia kick right to the crotch right there.

[–]kileer12 1 point2 points ago

This was my favorite map

[–]OHAI_DERE 1 point2 points ago

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS MY ADOLESCENT YEARS ARE COMING BACK IT FEELS SO GOOOOD

[–]iscrap 0 points1 point ago

What? Blood Gulch.

All day, every day.

[–]yaners 1 point2 points ago

I signed in just to upvote this. I agree 100%. Single flag CTF was the shit on this map (running upwards to the BR tower from elbow to capture....epic)

[–]mbotto 1 point2 points ago

[–]mshall89 0 points1 point ago

Blood Gulch anyone?

[–]CJ_Guns 1 point2 points ago

Halo 2 was one of the best games I ever played. Sure, the campaign was short (but still pretty good because Bungie) but I spent hundreds of hours on multiplayer. Every day when I came home from school it was homework, then Halo with all of my friends.

I even lost my virginity around Halo 2. It's a pretty funny story.

[–]Hightech90 1 point2 points ago

Through 3 years of LAN parties, this map was played by us 95% of the time. Best map hands down. Damn do I miss those days.

[–]Cdwollan -1 points0 points ago

First off, you're wrong. Second off, this post took no energy whatsoever.

[–]mrbak3r 0 points1 point ago

Holy shit, were the graphics really that bad? I loved that map though!

[–]Margaritashoes 0 points1 point ago

Furr shurr.

[–]HORSExFUCKER 0 points1 point ago

Sidewinder is my vote for best map. Love ctf there

[–]hdadeathly 0 points1 point ago

I loved Lockout. And that shitty remake Blackout just didn't feel the same to me. A couple underrated maps were Terminal and Ascension.

[–]DollaDillz 0 points1 point ago

only with shotguns

[–]hylianknight 0 points1 point ago

The scary thing is that the instant I saw that picture I could run through the entire map in my head.

Everyone knows what it's like to know every word of a song you haven't heard since you were a teenager, but from now on people will also be doing that with video game levels.

[–]TheFoxGoesMoo 0 points1 point ago

Is Halo 2 multiplayer still online? Or is there only compaign now?

[–]ZeroTheHer0 0 points1 point ago

Lots of domination with the BR on this map

[–]BPIDayman 0 points1 point ago

Damnation/Derelict

halo 1

[–]arubianlizard 0 points1 point ago

The amount of hours I've spent with a couple of my friends playing juggernaut on this map is unspeakable.

[–]vonNinja -1 points0 points ago

This is wrong and you should feel bad.

[–]alchemisthemo 0 points1 point ago

All i gotta say is sidewinder, and you all know it.

[–]carachangren 0 points1 point ago

Blood gultch please. My old roommates and I used to have sick capture the flag games on that. Playing at college on the network and finding random xboxs full of people to play was perfect. Oh, and the xboxs always had the funny default names like Saucy and Dopey.

[–]jbmonster -1 points0 points ago

Correction. The best Halo "2" map.

[–]Tombosley7 0 points1 point ago

Uhhh Hang em High anyone?

[–]Mkidder56 0 points1 point ago

And Chiron TL 34, oh the surprise of a shotgun to your face as you come through a portal... and Sidewinder. And bang bang boom. boom boom kitty fuck.

[–]TbanksIV 0 points1 point ago

The pit, Guardian, Countdown, Lockout, Blood gulch, and Beaver Creek.

Halo has had some of the best maps period.

[–]lyrradmelon 0 points1 point ago

Bloodgulch is better in design, but not in fun...this map...regardless of it not having the importance of me not remembering the name, is a great map that is more exciting for being a boss.

[–]lazzarus979 0 points1 point ago

I played it on the computer a lot more so my favorites have to be Timberland and Danger Canyon. Alongside Chiron, Blood Gulch, Boarding Action, and Rat Race. Pretty much every Halo: CE map was fucking amazing. Halo 2 and 3 had good ones too but I think none of the ones in Reach were too fun. Just because they were all story maps in the core game, and none of them were too different. I cannot fucking wait for Halo 4 though, I just about cream myself whenever something new comes out about it.

[–]ja_bour 0 points1 point ago

My friends and I still get together occasionally to system link our Xbox's up and get a little 4vs4 going on...this was the only map we ever played. As you can imagine 8 people on this map spilled a lot of master chief blood.

[–]denta87 -1 points0 points ago

I stopped playing after halo 2....

[–]imconservative 0 points1 point ago

Hang em' High.

[–]tiddereht 1 point2 points ago

TO THE ELBOW!!!!

[–]ninjablade15 0 points1 point ago

As soon as I saw the title my thought was "this better be lockout or idk what to think of the world" glad to see never a reason to doubt.

[–]gr3nade 0 points1 point ago

That is not a picture of Blood Gulch. You lied to me.

[–]MrAceOfSpades 0 points1 point ago

I upvoted this so hard I cracked my iPad screen.

[–]irondeath 0 points1 point ago

Lockout and Midship are the best. Its hard to choose just one best map.

[–]3stacks 0 points1 point ago

I posted this months ago. Granted it was in different context.

[–]necroden 0 points1 point ago

I remember playing a 5-6 hour long game with my friend at the time. We were hoping we'd end up seeing the mythical Ghost of Lockout.

We never did, but we certainly had a lot of fun.

[–]Lord_Razgriz 0 points1 point ago

Hated this map to an almost unhealthy level. Not sure why, but I never seem to like the maps the majority of the community does, regardless of how I perform on them.

[–]jachreja 1 point2 points ago

I would give pretty much the price of a retail game alone just to have that feeling again from playing original lockout on the next halo. Not a crappy remake either.

[–]redilred 0 points1 point ago

Sadly i hated H2 and this map with a passion. Personal preference i guess.

[–]pitrob80 -1 points0 points ago

Imma let you finish, but blood gulch is the best of all time!

[–]foehammer23 0 points1 point ago

My favorite story about this map occurred after someone challenged me to a 1v1 after he lost an XBL match. I had been playing this game religiously, so I knew how people spawn on the map intuitively: if I'm on this side, you'll spawn on that side and vice versa. After start I dominate him, peeking around corners almost like I knew he would be there. The long views on top and bottom were perfect for this, and I would pop off headshots like it was nobody's business. Also, every time the idiot used the gravlift, I'd hear it and automatically aim at his head. The score ended something like 5 to 25, with me winning.

After the match, he called me a cheater and supposedly "reported me for hacking." I just laughed. Goddamn I loved Halo 2.

[–]Edddzzzz 0 points1 point ago

Swords only on this map.

[–]Arma104 0 points1 point ago

Bloodgulch.

[–]BillowOfSmoke 0 points1 point ago

Hang em high, wizard, blood gulch.

Because it uses all three textures and both rooms in the same map.

I have literally played this map with my 2 bros from high school on average like 7 fridays and saturdays (total combined number for those who want to assert I do fuzzy maths) since like sophomore year of highschool. Only slayer, only random weapons. Rocket launchers are so gay on this map.

Speaking of Halo 2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCPhIYTKv-Y for some reason my life revolved around this for a few months in high school. My obsession was making these obnoxious noises while trying to end games with zero shots fired. Some players were paralyzed with laughter. Definitely had some 20-0 games with 0 shots fired.

Shotguns on Lockout was all I played. Ever.

Had a shitload of fun on The Pit.

Loved the map in Halo 2

Absolutely hated in Halo 3

In Halo 3 the map had unnecessary corners/bumps everywhere on the walls that you could get stuck on.

Annoyed the hell out of me.

1 on 1 sword ball. Super fun on this map

[–]eric0rr 0 points1 point ago

The bottom half got a little hostage negotation-ish with battle rifles, but It was definitely the best map.

[–]eric0rr 0 points1 point ago

This map made for the best no shields, battle rifle fights.

One of the best for sure. But I gotta give it to Ascension. Spent countless hours playing Infection hiding in the towers. Brings me back

[–]Spydiggity 0 points1 point ago

Not even close to the best.

who wants a halo 2 remake? same engine same maps just updated graphics on xbl

[–]Fushi4 1 point2 points ago

zombies on Halo 2...pushing those boxes around. trying to get out of the map from room 1... super jumping. Little kids not switching teams after getting killed. And the always forgotten "What's the shape of Italy?" question, pre-boot.

[–]EDM305 1 point2 points ago

You guys should get Halo 2 for the PC. You can plug in your xbox 360 controller into a USB port and play it almost like the old days. There's no super jumps sadly, but all of the other glitches remain! I was playing Zombies on Containment and I did the glitch where you jump behind the invisible wall on that ledge in one of the bases. Then going up the mountain, nobody knew wtf I was doing lol

that doesn't look like Bloodgulch to me.

What was the name of the map in Halo 1 that was 2 sides on a spaceship that could be teleported to and from?

[–]WildlifeAnalysis 1 point2 points ago

Halo 1: Battle Creek.

Halo 2: Lockout.

Halo 3: Guardian.

Halo Reach: Sword Base.

Blood Gulch in Halo 1. Don't hate.

You know your first two games are better when the only decent maps on the following two installments are remakes or player made. H1 & 2 have some of the best competitive maps from any console based fps ever. People still play H1 (and H2) on XBC but I can guarantee you no one is going to be playing Halo3 or Reach 10 years after their release. I had such high hopes for H4 but after watching gameplay I'm not getting my hopes up. I liked it better when my spartan didn't run or have the ability to see through walls. I also enjoyed it when more emphasis was placed on gameplay and not gimmicky features or pretty maps. Can't really blame them, though, the online community has really exploded and they have to cater to such a larger and more casual audience. End declining Halo franchise rant

Bloodgulch would like to have a word with you!
