Beware of trading scammers!

A subreddit for anything related to games (but not sports).

"Related" means that posts must contain gaming-related content in the link/post body, not just a "forced" connection via the title or a caption added to the content.

Posting Rules

  • Posts must be directly gaming-related. Thus, "generic" image macros/memes (where the character itself is not related to gaming) like Scumbag Steve, Good Guy Greg, etc. will be removed. Something that "reminds you of a game", or "looks like something from a game" is also not an appropriate submission; similarly, reaction GIFs are also not appropriate as submissions.

  • Following Reddiquette is encouraged

  • No "general" URL shorteners (bitly, tinyurl, etc). Single-site URL shorteners (such as youtu.be or fav.me) are allowed.

  • No game or product giveaway of any kind

  • NSFW submissions and comments must be labeled

  • Spoilers can be posted using the following formatting:
    [X Kills Y](/spoiler)
    Result: X Kills Y.

  • To mark a spoiler as relevant to a specific game/topic, use the alternate formatting:
    [Player 1 wins](/spoiler "Pong")
    Result:
    Player 1 wins

  • Report posts containing spoilers not using the above method

  • Don't post users' personal information.

Submission Rules

Is your post not showing up? Do not delete it. Wait 5 minutes to give AutoModerator a chance to look at it; it approves most submissions automatically. If it hasn't shown up after more than 5 minutes, simply message the moderators and ask us to let it through.

You get the upvote that I didn't give OP.

[–]WeLoveKanjimari 14 points15 points ago

Seriously. If you upload an image that's so tiny it is ilegible, it's pretty safe to assume a bigger one is out there. And you should find it first.

[–]NOTjefferydaumer 4 points5 points ago

There is always a bigger one, at least that's what my ex told me.

[–]LazyBum36 16 points17 points ago

Thanks.

[–]itsathrowawayanyway 51 points52 points ago

Thank you! Can't downvote the original post, but really bugged me that I could barely read anything.

[–]NBegovich 92 points93 points ago

Why not downvote OP? He posted a shitty version of someone else's work without giving due credit. Fuck OP.

[–]MantorokBeatsAll 42 points43 points ago

He also didn't label it properly. How is Phantom Gannons sword a step in the evolution of Link's swords. This is just a collection of swords from Zelda games.

[–]tineyeit 15 points16 points ago

That's what the person who made it called it, not the title OP made up.

[–]stabsthedrama 40 points41 points ago

[–]hanizen 12 points13 points ago

Well he did let me see it for the first time as well as spawn comments letting me see the high res intended version. So overall OP is a good guy

[–]surells 5 points6 points ago

Yes, but you must never underestimate how entitled redditors can be.

spiralstaircase
Type - The Transcended Walkway
Hp: 10
Str: 15
Vit: 15
Int: 15
Dex: 1

Special abilities:
Air abduction: spiralstaircase can fly down to earth, and attempt to quickly abduct a player via a mysterious force that draws in humanoids before ascending again. Flip a coin, if heads that player is now standing on spiralstaircase up in the sky. They may attack you physically or with abilities, as well as you to them. If you receive at least 6 damage while containing a player, you weaken, causing you to descend and let the player off of you. Having a player on you grants you the Airfairwarfare and Inflight Meal abilities. You may only have one abducted target at any time.

Airfarewarfare: You may attempt to drop the abducted player by changing the location of your steps constantly. When you use this, flip a coin 4 times. If at least 3 out of 4 are heads, that player falls from the sky, dealing 10 damage from them and placing them directly under spiralstaircase on the ground.

Inflight Meal: Instead of trying to drop the player, spiralstaircase can attempt to eat their feet. Flip a coin twice, if both are heads that player's leg is maimed, dealing 5 damage and causing their movement speed to be lowered by 2 for their next 2 turns. If only one is heads, this only bites them for 3 damage and lowers their movement by 1 on their next turn.

Platform Perils: If you are floating above a player on the ground, you may drop one of your steps, at the cost of 1 Hp per step. Each one hits them with high velocity, damaging them by 3 and reducing their movement speed by 1 on their next turn. This movement reduction does not stack. You may not drop more than 2 steps at any time, and can only use this once per 3 of your turns.

Moving Invigoration: Pick an enemy player down below. Depending on how many squares that player moves on their next turn influences what happens to them or you.

1 square: You gain 1 Hp
2 squares: They lose 1 Hp
3 squares: They give you 1 of their Hp.
4 squares: They give you 1 of their Hp, and you gain 1 Hp.

Passive Abilities:
Lifestep: Constantly expanding and shrinking its form based off the number of feet in the area, spiralstaircase is truly a wonder. You gain +1 to max Hp for each player's foot involved in this game, but can not gain reach more than 30 max Hp in this way.

Where the wind blows: spiralstaircase has a default movement speed of 2, but floats above all other player's on the battlefield. As a result, he can't be hurt by physical attacks and cannot make a physical attack himself, unless an ability says otherwise.

A mystery of the world, spiralstaircase is a living staircase, which glides through the sky like a jellyfish. Constantly rotating it's steps seemingly grants its ability to fly, and it always does so. Occasionally though, it somehow decides that a particular race or people are its enemy, and sweeps down to Earth's surface to attack them, causing horrible damage to populations. Its only known goal is that it loves amputating the feet from an unsuspecting adventurer, while devouring them with a pair of hidden razor sharp teeth beneath the steps.

Recently, some scholars in the land of Redditia tried to lure the beast in and trap it to stop its mindless massacres. Hopefully, it could be contained, and released at whim as a weapon even they thought. After they ended up in wheelchairs like all the rest, spiralstaircase had finally rid himself of all known pursuers. He spends his life as carefree as a spiral staircase can, eternally bound to consume that which he once provided safe footing to.

Unless you start adding a TL:DR to these things. You're doing a lot of work for little gain. It's sad because this novelty account requires more effort than 90% of the other ones.

[–]APPLEBLOOMthrowaway 54 points55 points ago

And about 2000% more work than "JustRepeatsYou"

Seriously, fuck that guy.

[–]dzamie 7 points8 points ago

At least deja_vu_comment usually makes comments which are original to that incarnation of the post.

[–]zbakes 19 points20 points ago

but what if he enjoys writing them?

[–]searingsky 3 points4 points ago

TL;DR: A really cool item

[–]Makes_RPG_Stats 13 points14 points ago

This is actually my biggest current "problem" if you will. I am going to start making them just a little shorter, hopefully reducing the amount of "tl;dr" people respond to my posts with. I'm basically experimenting right now to find out at what point do people not want to read something because it's simply too long.

[–]GnomeKing 20 points21 points ago

You'd be better off in the smaller subs. I know people in places like /r/dwarffortress and /r/rpg and places like that would read things like this every time they were posted.

I've read a lot of your posts and love them, and would love to see them more often.

[–]Makes_RPG_Stats 9 points10 points ago

Hey thank you for checking them out.

If the only reason some redditor's won't read it is simply because of length and not content, I can experiment without lowering the quality. I'm trying to have a little bit for everyone in my posts. If I wanted a really serious rpg stats to be seen by all, I'd post in /r/rpg. But, I'd like to be able to make the average person laugh or be entertained as well rather than creating this super serious niche rpg writing style.

[–]Brony_Starstruck 2 points3 points ago

huh, I kinda like this novelty.

[–]Quaksome 80 points81 points ago

Oh the Giant's knife, such a kick in the balls

[–]Devon64327 42 points43 points ago

I watched my older cousin play that game a few years before I did, and I saw him with the Biggoron sword and thought it was amazing. So a few years later when I played through it myself, and saw the Giants knife, I thought it was the same thing and immediately dropped the rupees for it. Almost had a heart attack when it broke, like two hits later.

[–]thedarklordkyp 0 points1 point ago

But you have to get it to get the big goron sword, don't you?

[–]thebellmaster1x 17 points18 points ago

Nope. You get the Broken Biggoron's Sword as part of the trading sequence.

[–]obese_squirrel 0 points1 point ago

Full trading sequence.
Hah… The memories :'-) This took so long to figure out for me as a 6-7 year old, before I discovered the helpfulness of the internet and without friends who owned the game.

[–]thedarklordkyp 3 points4 points ago

I did it WITHOUT THE INTERNET.

WITHOUT SPEAKING ENGLISH.

I didn't even have the nintendo power on it.

I just... kinda went to the places... and like... guessed.

Its not that hard, most of the things required you to like just talk to someone with your thing.

Its just been a while. Like what, 12 years? More, I think.

[–]mrminun 15 points16 points ago

I love how that the broken version is the only one in the diagram.

[–]captionUnderstanding 9 points10 points ago

Try playing a 3 heart challenge using only the broken giant's knife. It does the same damage as the Kokiri Sword, but it's two handed so you can't use your shield. It's a difficult one.

[–]Cendeu 17 points18 points ago

You can't use your shield while holding it.

People who got good at using the Biggoron sword won't find that much trouble, since we've learned to put away/take out the sword quickly enough.

[–]captionUnderstanding 7 points8 points ago

This is correct.

[–]MstrKief 11 points12 points ago

I watched a stream of a guy doing this awhile back. Amazing. He was stuck on the double iron knuckles in Gannon's tower, after you kill him, for 2-3 days. This dude also wore the iron boots whenever possible (which is all the time where you don't have to use floating or the hover boots)

[–]uniquelyaverage 14 points15 points ago

man, what is wrong with that dude

EDIT: also do you have a link to that video? cause that sounds hilarious to watch

[–]YoureMyBoyBloo 154 points155 points ago

[–]redthursdays 9 points10 points ago

it has to be at least...THREE TIMES BIGGER THAN THIS!

[–]Wenfield42 11 points12 points ago

That would probably work actually.

[–]ShivaNZ 21 points22 points ago

After reading the word sword over and over I can't take it seriously anymore.

[–]Dookiestain_LaFlair 29 points30 points ago

The 3rd sword from Link To The Past was always my favorite. It glows red like Lightbringer. Link is Azor Ahai.

[–]ricktencity 8 points9 points ago

But is it hot to the touch?

[–]PeppermintDinosaur 3 points4 points ago

It was a glamour. Link is Stannis.

[–]jumbohiggins 3 points4 points ago

If anything link is John Snow.

[–]1_point_21_gigawatts 15 points16 points ago

TIL there are eight Legend of Zelda games I haven't yet played.

[–]ThePasswordsGullible 4 points5 points ago

Well, the fuck are you doing on Reddit, then?

[–]FalconTaterz 12 points13 points ago

My only problem with this is that the artist illustrated all of the swords in a more cel-shaded style, when most of these look more natural to me (and I assume others) if they're illustrated in a way similar to the way they were in the game.

The art is still really good though.

[–]did_you_read_it 75 points76 points ago

The LTTP master sword is wrong.

most people associate it with the poster , -http://i.imgur.com/rm5Zs.jpg

however in game it is actually blue http://i.imgur.com/jcj1x.jpg

the shape would be most similar to the poster or the graphic in the opening. not sure where they are getting the broader curve from.

the other two are conjecture, though i would say that the tempered sword would merely be a red master sword and not the sword from the booklet cover. the last one could be anything it is never shown in much detail though i have seen other drawings which display it as very pointy.

EDIT: Forgot to mention nice collection otherwise, don't want to seem disparaging. also if we're being picky i don't know if links awaking ever referred to it as ultimate sword (unless there was one in the GBC games) it was a L-2 (level 2) sword and AFAIK its never shown so again the design is artistic license

[–]Thanatos- 14 points15 points ago

Looks like they are based off of These images And i believe the images are sourced from Official Nintendo materials like the instruction booklet or a players guide from Nintendo i don't know which.

EDIT: Added better link. Also the images are from the offical Nintendo Player's Guide for A Link to the Past.

[–]did_you_read_it 3 points4 points ago

ahh thank you. i was wondering where i saw the pointy golden sword before.

guess i can't blame them too much for using that though technically as far as in game counts the nintendo source is wrong. though nintendo publications have been really wrong before.

[–]Prince_Squirtle 11 points12 points ago

Thanks for pointing this out. I had recently started playing LTTP and thought it seemed inaccurate. Personally, my favorite venture in acquiring the Master Sword. The odds against you are great, but when you finally obtain it, it seems as if victory is no longer out of reach.

[–]_Wolfos 6 points7 points ago

It's Zelda. Continuity is not in the Nintendo dictionary.

[–]ampsmith3 5 points6 points ago

How I imagine the occasional topic of Continuity ever brought up at a Zelda meeting:
Aonuma - "Hey Miyamoto, umm, that won't really work with the world and Lore that we created..."
Miyamoto - "Fuck it do it anyway! Just say it's in an alternate timeline and we'll hammer out a complicated graphic to explain it over the next decade."
Aonuma - "Brilliant!"

[–]MissJill 7 points8 points ago

how is that a related to the post you responded to?

[–]khartael 33 points34 points ago

Continuity is not his strong suit

[–]dougman82 4 points5 points ago

Not to mention it seems strange to me that the tempered sword would be all chipped and gouged, like you stuck it down the garbage disposal. It should have a better edge than the Master Sword.

[–]theroarer 3 points4 points ago

All of this. I spent all my childhood playing that game over and over. the tempered sword is the master sword in it's final form- reforged by the lost smith and the light world smith.

[–]_shift 5 points6 points ago

Yeah, Geez.

"Here's the master sword guys. throw it into a pool of acid then beat the shit out of with rocks until it resembles a brittle, broken piece of copper. Thanks"

[–]someguywhocanfly 40 points41 points ago

I don't remember the Shade sword from Twilight Princess. Is it a secret or something?

[–]did_you_read_it 47 points48 points ago

Looks like the sword the skeletal knights who teach you new techniques use. he reveals himself as a past "hero of time' so in a sense he is an undead Link.

[–]Napes90 45 points46 points ago

He is the link from ocarina of time.

[–]MrMalice 36 points37 points ago

So he finally talks AFTER he dies.

[–]Herbert42 39 points40 points ago

Better Nate than lever.

[–]MrHawthorne 7 points8 points ago

Please no one link to the source for this. It must be discovered on one's own.

[–]rakimallah 3 points4 points ago

I'm sure a Google search would spit it out pretty damn fast.

[–]smileyfrown 2 points3 points ago

I discovered it through a link, why does it matter how you discover it?

[–]Krail 6 points7 points ago

I was so disappointed for such an interesting story to end abruptly in a lame pun. I knew it would going in, but still.

[–]PagliacciTheClown 2 points3 points ago

I dunno, the pun was pretty damn good... I laughed so hard

[–]Garrett-R 6 points7 points ago

Great fucking story, though.

[–]AddeyTeegs 0 points1 point ago

So many props given to you, sir.

[–]abmartin21 5 points6 points ago

Shit, I just read game lore for two hours because of this. Did you know that it is considered a possibility that the Twili from Twilight Princess used to be the Gerudo tribe? And that Midna might have been a Gerudo tribe member herself? I'd also recommend checking out the page on Majora's Mask. From playing it as a child, it brings on some serious revalations.

zelda.wikia.com

Don't you put that evil on me, I have stuff to do tonight

[–]HookDragger 15 points16 points ago

TIL: There was a golden sword in "A link to the past"

[–]did_you_read_it 4 points5 points ago

lol, too afraid to try tossing your sword away ?

[–]HookDragger 7 points8 points ago

Lol... I haven't played that game in 20+ years... how should I remember?

[–]did_you_read_it 1 point2 points ago

heh played more recent than that but there are others that old that i'm surprised i remember as much about. too bad i cant remember actual important shit that well. :-/

[–]Baconpwner 5 points6 points ago

Looks like someone didn't collect enough of the secret seashells.

[–]Pokemon_Trainer 21 points22 points ago

Wrong game, Seashells were in Link's Awakening. In ALTTP, you have to toss your sword in the Fat Fairys Fountain, and she gives you a golden one.

[–]HookDragger 1 point2 points ago

Fuck... now I've got to find an SNES and a link to the past cartridge

[–]Baconpwner 6 points7 points ago

Wait wrong game lol. Seashells were in the gameboy version "Link's Awakening"

I think there was a secret fairy spring in "A Link to the Past" that gave you magic arrows for beating ganon and the golden sword if you threw your tempered sword in the pool. Haven't played the game in forever though.

[–]razoRamone31 8 points9 points ago

The picture skips his appearances in Soul Calibur 2 and Smash Bros

[–]Krail 3 points4 points ago

Heh, it'd be funny seeing the Bug net and the Cane of Brynna in that list.

[–]satisfyreality 7 points8 points ago

Majora's Mask had the coolest ones.

[–]MaxPowerzs 7 points8 points ago

A testament to my favorite game of all time. The Razor Sword and Double Helix sword were so badass.

[–]S_Dub7 13 points14 points ago

Master sword from OOT is still my favourite. Also how do you get the fairy swords in Majora? I'm playing it right now and I am at the gilded sword.

[–]Xylense 23 points24 points ago

While it's a sword, it doesnt replace the gilded sword, it just becomes a c-item like a powerful stick. I think it's from rescuing all the faries in stone tower temple.

[–]S_Dub7 8 points9 points ago

Ohhh, ya I didn't know that, I'm missing one from the stone tower. Those crafty little shits.

[–]akiratheoni 13 points14 points ago

If you're playing Majora's Mask on the 4 game disc that has OoT, MM, LoZ, and AoL, good luck -- My game froze on the Stone Tower when I got the 13th fairy... and apparently it only happens on the 4 game disc. So hopefully you're not playing MM on that.

[–]S_Dub7 2 points3 points ago

Nope, I downloaded it on my Wii. Thanks for the heads up tho; have an upvote!

[–]thatdovahkiinyouknow 3 points4 points ago

I think it's better than the gilded sword, if you know how to do the quick spin attack then it's an amazing beast of a weapons.

[–]Krail 4 points5 points ago

It's like the Biggoron sword. Strongest weapon in the game, but you can't use your shield.

[–]SkyNTP 5 points6 points ago

What the heck is this Battle Quest? It looks silly.

[–]_Wolfos 8 points9 points ago

NINTENDOLAND!

[–]captainolimar 6 points7 points ago

Nintendo Land has a bunch of minigames that show off the different Wii U control schemes. It's kind of like Wii Sports, but it only comes with the black Wii U bundle.

[–]monowedge 10 points11 points ago

What I wanna know is, why the fuck they made him right-handed in the later games?

[–]coreycubed 36 points37 points ago

Three words: Wii motion controls.

[–]monowedge 9 points10 points ago

Lame. You'd figure they'd have a 'lefty flip' option.

[–]tylerbrainerd 3 points4 points ago

Hasn't he always been ambidextrous though? I always thought the implication was that he is capable with either hand, and his sword hand was merely a reflection of his teacher than himself. That, I though anyway, was the explanation for the right handed/sprite mirrored versions.

[–]fivez1a 3 points4 points ago

That was just Nintendo covering it's tracks.

[–]spaceymacey 45 points46 points ago

I feel like I'm the only one who though windwaker was the best zelda..

[–]Cendeu 30 points31 points ago

Just so you know, there's a post like this in every Zelda-related thread.

Someone says something like "Am I the only one who loved Wind Waker" which is then followed by hundreds of others saying WW was the best, and that it's generally known as being one of the best Zelda games.

And I completely agree that it is amazing. I personally like A Link to the Past more, but WW is number 2.

[–]Bardlar 2 points3 points ago

Good memories, but travelling through the first half of the game, before the storms, monsters and pirates was just very dull. But that's a pretty general complaint. In terms of fights, dungeons and questing/side-questing, it was brilliant!

[–]Krail 7 points8 points ago

You are not alone, my friend.

[–]spaceymacey 6 points7 points ago

I have to say, its gotta be a tie between windwaker and twilight princess

[–]Tigrrrr 2 points3 points ago

No, you are not the only one :p Out of the many [4] zelda games I had as a child the windwaker was the first one I ever finished.

[–]Yst 3 points4 points ago

You haven't read many Zelda discussions in your time, if you're under that impression. Hell, I know for a fact I'm far from the only one who thinks Zelda II is the best Zelda. And that's regardless of the fact that I likewise know that this preference is the least prevalent, of the available ones.

[–]KaneDeth 2 points3 points ago

I really loved it, but after getting to the point where I had to collect the 9 triforce shards I quit. I wasn't one to use walkthroughs or whatever, and I simply didn't have the time then...

[–]RecallsIncorrectly 4 points5 points ago

The IN-credible Chart tells you the location of all the Triforce charts, and then Tingle deciphers the charts for you when you have them. Just hit Y (or was it X?) on the map screen to pull up your charts, which will show you in an X-Marks-The-Spot type fashion where the "treasure" is.

It's not a guessing game or a minesweep-the-whole-ocean scenario, if that's what made you stop. If you have the time, give it another shot!

[–]Reesch 1 point2 points ago

I'm pretty sure I just used an Action Replay for that. Screw finding all those shards.

[–]Lurkerhereduh 4 points5 points ago

Fierce deity is my favorite.

[–]thatdovahkiinyouknow 2 points3 points ago

Hold up.... The shade sword in TP? How come I never heard of this! (unless I'm being an idiot and it's some enemies sword)

[–]cant_decide_username 5 points6 points ago

The hero's shade that teaches you the 7 hidden skills. Thats his sword

[–]SlightlyInsane 5 points6 points ago

Also the hero's shade is link from OOT.

[–]AgentGinger149 2 points3 points ago

I'm disappointed they didn't include the rubber chicken from Wind Waker.

[–]SOMETHING_POTATO 2 points3 points ago

I'm pretty sure that the "title screen sword" in the original game was the white sword from the game. It's just they couldn't the handle look right in 8 bit graphics.

[–]holyfear 0 points1 point ago

Upon first glance, the Wind Waker swords stick out like a sore thumb. A testament to its innovation for the series and gaming.

[–]Nemlet 0 points1 point ago

It is missing the seashell sword from Link's Awakening. That was, by far, the greatest sword in any zelda game. ever.

[–]_shift 1 point2 points ago

Pieces of Power were also awesome. Skyrocketing a bitch ass moblin across the screen to an explosive death. Feels good man.

[–]x604FirstBloodx 0 points1 point ago

The Word Sword now seems weird to me ...

[–]Dannysmartful 0 points1 point ago

What about Super Smash Bros. sword? I know it's kinda like all the others. _

[–]havestronaut 2 points3 points ago

Shiiiiiiit. This just reminded full force of how much fucking fun I had playing Link to the Past right when it came out. God. I used to just pore over instruction manuals, just to savor a game I'd just bought a little longer before I played it. That artwork! It was such a novelty to see the 16-bit items in full color illustrated style.

SNES, you were my greatest friend.

[–]x3tripleace3x 5 points6 points ago

What's the black sword called and why is it like that?

I've never played any zelda games but the black sword is so much different from the rest that it piques my curiosity

[–]mrmackdaddy 9 points10 points ago

In Wind Waker you could pick up some weapon's dropped by enemies. When you defeated Phantom Ganon he dropped it, allowing Link to wield the sword.

[–]netactor 8 points9 points ago

"Phantom Ganon's Sword"

[–]spiralstaircase 4 points5 points ago

That's Phantom Ganon's Sword aka the "Beast Blade". It matches its original wielder's black and teal look.

[–]anotherphotocopy 4 points5 points ago

Never played any zelda games?!

[–]Spinwheeling 2 points3 points ago

I don't remember the Shade Sword from TP. Where did you get it?

[–]Bardlar 6 points7 points ago

You don't get it. It belongs to the skill teaching skeleton who is a past Hero of Time. Specifically, he is Link from Ocarina of Time. So technically speaking it is one of Link's swords, but it's more closely tied to TP than OoT

[–]hobofats 1 point2 points ago

why is the Giant's knife so big? It is the hilt of the Biggoron's sword.

[–]Jacobneumann 1 point2 points ago

Needs more .jpeg

[–]HakeemAbdullah 0 points1 point ago

I'd love to see a game where Link uses a sword like the one on the title screen of the original Zelda.

[–]DJ_IllI_Ill 1 point2 points ago

The Master Sword just looks so cool.

[–]TheCrackerland 0 points1 point ago

3 of the wind waker swords are not even links

[–]ThatOnePerson 0 points1 point ago

I enjoyed four swords. Love the pictures of it :)

[–]tk-not21 2 points3 points ago

Sheds a single manly tear*

I dreamed somebody would make this.

[–]Vist34 -1 points0 points ago

Yo link, why u keep loosing yo sword?

[–]icewhisker 0 points1 point ago

can you post like a good version of this?

[–]IamSpot89 -1 points0 points ago

Holy shit... There is a great fairy sword in majoras mask?

WHERE THE FUCK IS THAT GAME? I MUST FIND THAT SWORD!

[–]That_Weird_Kid 1 point2 points ago

I always loved the Razor Sword. Really sucks that it wasn't a permanent upgrade.

[–]largestill 1 point2 points ago

What is this? An image for ants?

[–]lemononastick99 0 points1 point ago

This reminds me of a Castle Crashers Zelda!

[–]gabriot -1 points0 points ago

Many of these are not Link's swords

[–]guthpasta -1 points0 points ago

Majora's Mask had the best swords IMO. I loved that game.

[–]burn_all_the_things 0 points1 point ago

Call me crazy, but the gilded sword is my favorite out of all of them. That race you had to do to get the gold powder was a bitch!

I started humming LoZ's theme, then it turned to the ending song of SS, then I remember SS's ending, then I remembered Fi .... then my awesome started leaking out of my eyes.

[–]megaoka -1 points0 points ago

Crap. I spoiled a bit of Skyward Sword. I'm such an idiot. -facepalm-

[–]pleasantfiction -1 points0 points ago

Fierce Deity Sword is the most bad ass out of all of them.

[–]jovietjoe 0 points1 point ago

What about the weapons from the CDi games eh? Eh?

[–]oldmanswar -1 points0 points ago

Damn they got really creative with Four Swords.

[–]InsaneDrunkenAngel -1 points0 points ago

I think the guilded sword is by far my favorite, although it's a close call since the A link to the Past Master Sword shot energy from the tip when he was at full health! God, I miss both those games...

[–]thearchmagus -1 points0 points ago

Read it so much that I forgot what the word sword means. ;n;

[–]Enigma7ic -1 points0 points ago

Windwaker still has the best ones.

[–]Achirality 0 points1 point ago

I always thought the tempered sword was made from the master sword, seeing as tempering a sword cannot make it longer.

[–]jorellh 0 points1 point ago

The original "magic sword" was called Master Sword

[–]NSFW 0 points1 point ago

I've only ever played the original Zelda, but I pretty much played it over and over for years on end, so can someone please tell me why there are six swords instead of three?

[–]jzoobz -1 points0 points ago

But which one to build with LEGO...?

[–]RolandofGan -1 points0 points ago

This reminds me of Kingdom Hearts even though it's Link's swords. Will someone do this with all of the keyblades, shields, and staffs?

[–]RufusBartholomew -1 points0 points ago

Shade sword in Twilight Princess? WTF?

[–]Sekiath -1 points0 points ago

Wait, there's more to than the Magic Sword and Master Sword?! And a Shade Sword in Twilight Princess?

[–]johnnyboy0788 -1 points0 points ago

I miss my 64. And being 12 trying to get past the Water Temple.

[–]TheGiik 0 points1 point ago

Ooooh, swords. I like swords. And other bladed weapons.

I especially like the Four Sword in Minish Cap, the ribbon makes it look so elegant.

[–]spermbasket -1 points0 points ago

my fav's are ganon's and the fairy sword

[–]Aislee -1 points0 points ago

I read this as "The evolution of Link's WORDS." and was extremely amused for a few seconds.

[–]DrDragonGod -1 points0 points ago

This post is so simple yet so intriguing. Thank you.

[–]FaasnuDovah -1 points0 points ago

The first sword in Majoras mask is the 'Hero's Sword' not Kokiri, although im sure they're the same

[–]zors -1 points0 points ago

I've never used any of those past Link's Awakening.

I've saved up a lot of adventuring for the future.

[–]byttle -1 points0 points ago

phantom ganon's sword is the coolest.

[–]amusing_shit -1 points0 points ago

What about soul calibre 2?

[–]Damaband41 -1 points0 points ago

Some of these swords are just... badass.

[–]MoroseMoose -1 points0 points ago

Upvote, but know that I also hate you b/c now im going to spend more time than I really want to playing zelda's for the next month.

[–]Brobotnik 1 point2 points ago

What about Soul Calibur 2?

[–]ApplesAndBerries -1 points0 points ago

As someone who only played one version of Zelda. Not sure if evolution.... Or just different swords.

[–]lithybaer -1 points0 points ago

...and sword no longer sounds like a word to me.

[–]TheGrimmace -1 points0 points ago

I will forever and always love these games. No matter what

[–]simsoy -1 points0 points ago

Some of these designs are really bad or really lazy like in Majora's Mask.

[–]chaosrush123 -1 points0 points ago

Is skyward sword even worth playing? I played through half of it and got bored... This is coming from one who LOVES every other Zelda game btw. PS. Why does everyone seem to dislike or care not about twilight princess? That's one of the best in my opinion.

[–]Serbaayuu -1 points0 points ago

Fi is with us all the way through A Link to the Past/Twilight Princess (and beyond)/Wind Waker. :D

[–]tha_ape -1 points0 points ago

TIL The Magic Sword wasnt wavy. It always looked wavy on the TV to me, never thought of it as pixilation. (I think a wavy sword would be cooler)

[–]Adogan -1 points0 points ago

I read "The evolution of Link's words." But that would have been a pretty short list of grunts and screams.

[–]wellgoodnessgracious -1 points0 points ago

For a second I thought this said The evolution of Link's words. "......"

[–]dougman82 -1 points0 points ago

Why are there two renditions of each sword from the original?

[–]DesecrateUsername -1 points0 points ago

We see all these different swords for the games, until you get to 'Battle Quest". Sword. That's it.

[–]Arrant -1 points0 points ago

I don't see Faces of Evil or Wand of Gamelon on here, what gives

[–]Grant638 -1 points0 points ago

If anything, the Level-2 sword in Link's Awakening is called the "Seashell Sword", not "Ultimate Sword".

[–]pockycrumbs -1 points0 points ago

The white sword is still my favorite. The NES version did a great job considering.

[–]notquiteotaku 0 points1 point ago

I don't care how many games come out or what weapons become available. OoT's Master Sword will always be my blade.

[–]jackals4 1 point2 points ago

TS;CR Too small; couldn't read

[–]Parchedflame 0 points1 point ago

I love images like this.

[–]fullnovazero 0 points1 point ago

The nerf sword that's available at the store definitely has some Master Sword highlights and inspiration. This is a picture of it on a cheap sword stand near my desk. http://i.imgur.com/QbgKD.jpg

[–]Galacnar 0 points1 point ago

Kind of disappointed not seeing his Soul Calibur 2 swords.

[–]Venspin 0 points1 point ago

Ocarina of Time's Master Sword is the Master Race

[–]Elerabin21k -1 points0 points ago

Wait... golden sword? Am I missing something.

[–]TigerBomber 0 points1 point ago

all these years and i never knew about the golden sword...

[–]kungfukai 1 point2 points ago

It's missing one sword.

The Sage's Sword from Twilight Princess.

[–]axelofthekey 0 points1 point ago

My favorite is the Golden Sword.

[–]mathwizard420 0 points1 point ago

Battle quest: sword

[–]xyrgh 0 points1 point ago

Fuck I'd kill for a Zelda MMO.
