        Different opinions are one thing. Some "opinions" are just wrong. It doesn't matter how much you claim that we never landed on the moon, you're wrong. And "I have a right to my opinion" doesn't change that.

        Other opinions are, to be blunt, incompatible. If I have the opinion that we should try to help the poor, and someone else has the opinion that we should let them starve in the streets, to serve as a warning to their children that this is the consequence of being poor, then I'm not going to respect you. We can argue about whether or not that would have an effect on the poverty level, sure. But to a lot of people, it won't matter, because that idea is too awful to even consider.
