Classic Art Vandelay.

[–]SunkSubmarines 4 points5 points ago

Have you seen the new edition to the Guggenheim?

[–]george1st -1 points0 points ago

my thoughts exactly

[–]toolatealreadyfapped 0 points1 point ago

I hate when I laugh at my own thoughts, then come to the comments to share my hilarity, only to find that I am neither funny nor original.

[–]badpenguin455 -1 points0 points ago

I know that feel bro.

[–]BlazeOrangeDeer -1 points0 points ago

You weren't even the first to post that you were thinking the same thing... you're not doing too well here

[–]irishfrog -3 points-2 points ago

[–]jangstar 42 points43 points ago

How can you be too gay to be an engineer?

[–]isoptimus 8 points9 points ago

My uncle wanted to be an architect. He was gay. He made it through 1 semester in engineering before the constant abuse from his peers over his sexual orientation drove him to become depressed and alcoholic, and to give up his dream.

[–]Golgavar 0 points1 point ago

That must have been a number of years ago when the majority of America was homophobic. Everyone I've met in my engineering major has been respectful to gay people, and so far I've yet to meet one that didn't support same-sex marriage.

[–]Mrdamn 1 point2 points ago

One semester of engineering turned your uncle into a depressed alcoholic who gave up on education. Okay.

[–]TGiFallen 5 points6 points ago

you've obviously never taken engineering classes.

[–]Darkersun -5 points-4 points ago

Definitely belongs in the comments of /r/funny.

You made my day.

[–]Spidooshify -3 points-2 points ago

Sounds like engineering students.

[–]Dominoes282 20 points21 points ago

Try reciting the Euler-Lagrange Differential Equation with a lisp. It doesn't work.

[–]rumsponge 8 points9 points ago

Fuck you, gays make fabulous engineers.

[–]TheCrabNicholson 6 points7 points ago

Someone should tell that man that his eyes have grown labia.

[–]Daveezie 1 point2 points ago

I know it's early, but you have been r/nocontext'd

[–]coolkid1717 11 points12 points ago

This comic begs to differ.

[–]facelaser 1 point2 points ago

Andrew Luck begs to differ.

[–]nowuzzy 0 points1 point ago

edit "s,"

[–]hazy_browns 0 points1 point ago

the red button kills me evrytim

[–]CircularPolarization 7 points8 points ago

I'm gay and I do engineering. Fuck right off.

[–]JGoody -3 points-2 points ago

What engineer says "I do engineering" ?

You sit on a throne of lies.

[–]CircularPolarization 3 points4 points ago

Someone with a physics degree who spends 90% of his time designing and testing hardware for experiments.

[–]JGoody 0 points1 point ago

Sweet. What kind of hardware? Does it have anything to do with circular polarization? Cause that sounds interesting.

[–]marishtar 2 points3 points ago

Art Vandelay?

[–]alfrednugent 0 points1 point ago

So they're bi?

[–]ayonsk 1 point2 points ago

This is my experience with Architecture. I did one full year of it in a prominent architecture school and every guest speaker, critiquer, teacher, and peer I encountered in the major was an up-his-own ass prick barely-in-the-closet poser. Like the kind of guy who would be extremely particular about the type of chai he drank. Along with the job market, I figured that the sample of the 20-odd people I met who were professional architects were enough to make me not want to even entertain the possibility of having to interact with people like that every day. I look at the facebooks of some of the classmates I had in the program and most of them are either on the way or already at the stereotype I mentioned above. I count dropping the program as dodging a life-style bullet.

[–]triggerhappy006 0 points1 point ago

as someone with a degree in architecture, i...i cannot disagree.

carry on.

[–]imfreakinbad 1 point2 points ago

On The Brady Bunch, Robert Reed was a gay man playing a straight man who was an architect.

[–]documents1856 3 points4 points ago

As an engineering student, one of my class mates is double majoring in fashion and engineering, the fact he looks and dresses like the lead singer in The Darkness makes this particularly confusing.

Women architects must love you

[–]IGottaSnake 4 points5 points ago

As a woman in school to become an architect, opening that image just reinforced what I think on a regular basis... "this isn't going to be easy."

[–]ErichAlfredHartman 1 point2 points ago

as a practicing architect, for the past 7 years, get out while you still have a chance

[–]mthverre 0 points1 point ago

Women? Where? I never see any of your kind...like a unicorn

[–]AfroHoe 2 points3 points ago

I'm still confused. So they are still gay?

[–]Siethron 8 points9 points ago

I think they're confused as well.

[–]benskibike[!] 0 points1 point ago

"Supposedly everyone is." Steve Zissou

[–]mereel 0 points1 point ago

Sexuality isn't a binary, there is a large gradient between being attracted to men and being attracted to women. Most people are near one of the two extremes, but aren't completely straight or gay. People located near the center are considered bisexuals. This scale does not handle asexual individuals.

[–]Nellyville1985 3 points4 points ago

This almost made me change my major. NOT

[–]ASHLALAYROSA 2 points3 points ago

Ted Mosby?

[–]isthiswitty -1 points0 points ago

Even better because my father is an architect and I seriously think he's at least a little bit gay.

[–]ilovekittens5000 -1 points0 points ago

plus a tiny little dot center-left for women with big ideas shrinking by the day.

[–]hitlerwasright -1 points0 points ago

You're saying that Hitler could've been an architect.

[–]rubncto -1 points0 points ago

Perfect.

[–]kinslayer262 1 point2 points ago

Haaavvvve you met Ted?

[–]clintmccool 0 points1 point ago

ITT: Bitter engineering students

[–]Thedood0 -2 points-1 points ago

Explain Heavy Rain, good sir.

[–]roldes -2 points-1 points ago

Heh. You need a third circle...

Men working off of 30-year-old building practices.

[–]punkandy26 -2 points-1 points ago

As the son of an architect, I can confirm this.

[–]LewisKolb -2 points-1 points ago

As drafting student, I can confirm this.

[–]wangruo115 -2 points-1 points ago

Ted Mosby's love life in a nutshell.

[–]Monkey_ftw -3 points-2 points ago

U ruined my dream.

[–]LoneWolf117 -4 points-3 points ago

This is hilarious because that is what my older brother wants to be.

[–]Completesuccesss -3 points-2 points ago

THIS IS AMAZING. My best friend, who I cannot decide if he is gay or not, has been talking about becoming an architect for YEARS. I cannot bring myself to just ask him if he is.

[–]SirDerpingtonThe3rd -2 points-1 points ago

This is actually quite true.

[–]markgeard -3 points-2 points ago

I know many architects and that is accurate.

[–]ImVerySerious -5 points-4 points ago

This just perfectly described our current architect. He's like a fabulous almost-engineer.

[–]lil_mitch54 -1 points0 points ago

But... Architecture is a masters in civil engineering.

[–]SirDerpingtonThe3rd 1 point2 points ago

It most certainly is not. Architecture is civil engineering for people that don't want to make things actually capable of being built.
