I feel like this is a great example of many things that are unseen or unknown to the normal sports fan/redditor who might not know a lot about soccer.

Leaving the ball for another player in a better position to score with a "dummy" is actually really effective and highly prevalent at almost all levels of play. If you're aware of another teammate who has a much better angle and chance on goal, leaving it for him is the best thing to do and really screws with how the defense steps up to block the shot.

To the people saying this looks stupid if it didn't work or the defense was bad, that's not really entirely true. The defense is perfectly fine with allowing the first few players to have a touch on the ball, because from that angle, a well placed shot on goal is pretty unlikely and even if the shot was on goal, they don't have a strong angle to put it past the keeper as they can only go near post. Which is essentially what you want, and what you work for as a defense overall. They'd also have to finish with their left foot, as most players are right foot dominant.

The last player who shoots is in perfect position to finish because he's got a great angle to finish either at the near post or far post, which makes it very tough for the keeper to cheat to one side of the goal. The whole point is that they were unselfish and more importantly, very aware of the fact that they could leave it for the 4th man to finish.

The defense was too late to step up though, and there should have been a defender to step up on the 4th guy, but naturally as a defender you'd expect one of the first three who come onto the ball to at least take a touch or shot on goal. The keeper also has a small time to react as he's prepared for the first three players to take a shot, only to be left with a player who can go either far post or near post on him, whereas the first three players only have a good shot near post, which is what you want as a defender/keeper.
