I wonder if the concept will start to be incorporated in more homes. With the rising popularity of the green movement I could really see using sunlight as a source of light during the daytime indoors really taking off. But big electricity will probably try to stop it :/

Thats why I only consider it midly interesting... but I would say that fir tree is blue-ish... and there's a slightly oranger than yellow tree between yellow and red, where it should be...

Indigo's not really a real color: any sane person looking at the rainbow would not say there's a distinct color between blue and purple. They just added it because you can't pronounce ROYGBV.

Neither is orange or violet. The only 'real colors' are red, blue, and yellow. Or in terms of our eyes, red, green, and blue. Just because indigo is a tertiary color doesn't make it any less of a color than secondary ones.

Sure indigo's technically a color, but red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet make a complete rainbow without indigo. There's no point in the visible spectrum you could point to and say it doesn't fall into one of those six colors. If indigo is included, why not scarlet, chartreuse, or cyan?

I don't know if you don't understand what I'm saying or you disagree or what. There's no color that appears in the rainbow that's not a shade of red, yellow, orange, green, blue, or violet.

You can't say the same about red, yellow, and blue, because this color appears in the rainbow and it's not a shade of red, yellow, or blue.

That's a shade of yellow and blue. The point is that while indigo is out of place in that it's the only tertiary colour in the rainbow lineup, it's no more invalid than the secondary colours that are in there.

Purple is pretty much synonymous with violet. That said, people generally seem to consider it very slightly bluer and darker if XKCD's color survey is anything to go by.

They aren't suited to an Eastern US climate. It's too humid compared to the Rockies, and they look nice for 15 or so years and then die of fungal diseases. Something like a white fir would probably do better, but it's better to stick to trees that are evolved to grow in our climate.

Very far left is Paper Birch

then Colorado Blue Spruce

then Northern Catalpa

then probably also Northern Catalpa, but dropping leaves earlier (could be something else)

and the big red bush might be Burning Bush (Euonymus)

If you wanted the full spectrum, Autumn Purple White Ash is good for purple color

I tried all kinds of things... i just wanted to capture the view outside; nice and colorful.... I also took some shots with the automatic HDR on my camera, so it took three exposures and combined them, but this one still looked better for emphasizing what was outside....
