I never had any of these when I was playing with LEGO. Since then, I've seen bunches of pictures of people holding one of them saying how it saved their teeth, etc., but never knew how it actually worked. This .gif explains that you need two of them! It all makes sense now.

I had these and I knew how to use them. The only problem was, the remover thingy was always weaker than the two parts holding onto each other. I would put it on and tilt it and it would come right back off.
