Fucking hell, you needed TWO?!

[–]Vik1ng 50 points51 points ago

Of course you need two teeth, silly.

[–]BunRabbit 22 points23 points ago

You don't need two. The bottom one can be any 8 pin block with a flat 8 pin block mounted so it leaves a two pin overlap.

[–]Dyltreeno 17 points18 points ago

I feel that at some point in the past you were a master LEGO engineer.

[–]BunRabbit 11 points12 points ago

Na, just worried about cracking a tooth trying to separate lego blocks for my kids.

[–]DrugsOnly 2 points3 points ago

You're an awesome parent.

[–]markpelly 7 points8 points ago

Seriously, I never had two. I might have been able to put two and two together and figure this out if I had to of them.

[–]TesticleToe 1 point2 points ago

I only had one. Worked fine.

Didn't have to search my bucket or pile for my teeth, though.

[–]deltarob 5 points6 points ago

I just had one, figured it was a lego doorstop...

[–]xdeviousx 0 points1 point ago

exactly what I was thinking, I only had one of them, no wonder they never fucking worked

[–]smash_you2 58 points59 points ago

Ohh so that's what those things were for... I feel like I weakened and destroyed too many teeth trying to bite them apart as a kid.

[–]motivateyourself[S] 14 points15 points ago

I cringed at this... in kindergarten...I used to pry open these with my teeth too, but then imagine the number of kid hands these little things went around in....

[–]Grindstone50k 9 points10 points ago

Your kindergarten had legos? I probably have (yes, I still own all of mine) enough to supply 5 classes. About half have teeth marks on them.

[–]Nebulaoblivion 1 point2 points ago

I think i just used my fingers..

[–]agore30 1 point2 points ago

Ouch.

[–]korkyshadow 0 points1 point ago

Ya i grew out my nails to a half inch to help.

[–]vikhound 1 point2 points ago

teeth marks are the sign of a seasoned lego set

[–]dengue_fever 7 points8 points ago

I thought those were steps that came down from the flying saucer kit

[–]wanderingnearby 0 points1 point ago

I thought they were diving boards.

[–]Radico87 6 points7 points ago

A person who'd use this is the same type of person who'd take multiple trips to unload groceries from their car.

[–]AdaAstra 20 points21 points ago

I'm curious, but what did you guys think those were for? I never used them except to do this...

[–]Grindstone50k 40 points41 points ago

I only had one :/

[–]Nyubis 3 points4 points ago

So did I. You could just place the stuck pieces on a larger piece, hold that down with your hand and use you whateveritscalled to pry them off one at a time.

[–]Grindstone50k 0 points1 point ago

Doesn't work with 1x2s.

[–]MichaelSeebach 7 points8 points ago

Then you didn't have enough legos.

[–]Grindstone50k 8 points9 points ago

One can never have enough legos.

[–]LtCthulhu 0 points1 point ago

Yeah I think I had 5 or 6 of those wrenches.

[–]xblackdog 0 points1 point ago

This is my first time seeing this tool. When did it come out?

[–]WizzardLevelEcon 1 point2 points ago

unless you had a trunk case full of Legos you never had enough and if you did you always need more.

[–]Grindstone50k 1 point2 points ago

I have like three huge rubbermaids full of them in my parents' basement. Very tempted to retrieve them, but I waste enough time on video games as it is. I don't think my wife could take much more.

[–]enterlion 3 points4 points ago

I tried implementing them in constructs... Whoops

[–]blueeyedconcrete 2 points3 points ago

used 'em as wheelchair ramps for my houses

[–]hahgaaaay 0 points1 point ago

i thought it was a really shitty lego attempt at a scuba fin

[–]mynamesleslie 1 point2 points ago

They were obviously giant flippers.

[–]nEverirreverEnt 1 point2 points ago

Two posts about these things today and I haven't seen anyone else say what I thought. I thought they were just really stupid lego pretend nail clippers.

[–]poo_holes 0 points1 point ago

i thought they were shitty-ass-handles for lego airplanes and lego spaceships

[–]NinjaRobotPilot 0 points1 point ago

I got big packs that weren't for kits, just a shit-ton of legos. I saw these and thought they were just some piece of a kit I never saw before. I feel like a fucking 'tard now.

[–]Gortrok 5 points6 points ago

What the heck, I had these things 20 years ago, how did no one else even know they existed??? They're amazing! Still had teeth marks on my lego though...

[–]andrewsmith1986 46 points47 points ago

You people were idiots.

[–]motivateyourself[S] 21 points22 points ago

Or just poor :(

[–]NotaClipaMagazine 3 points4 points ago

The ones I had came in kits I got.

[–]crash331 15 points16 points ago

Kits? we only got buckets of randoms from yardsales and stuff.

[–]Vikaroo 2 points3 points ago

I think we got ours second hand from a cousin who had all the cool toys, we just had a dufflebag of random legos.

[–]motivateyourself[S] 3 points4 points ago

I got mine by stealing from the kindergarten...

[–]OblioNilsson 3 points4 points ago

OOOOooooh well aren't WE fancy with our "kits" of LEGO.

[–]gpto 2 points3 points ago

Thank you. The first thing i thought was, "This is some bush league bullshit!" I always used another block to do the same thing, and it wasnt shaped like half a fucking fingernail clipper, either.

[–]ChangingHats 0 points1 point ago

I never got these in any Lego sets I got (90's).

[–]Kinomi 9 points10 points ago

Use your teeth. God damn people.

[–]ObfuscatedConnection 0 points1 point ago

So many teeth marked legos. Now the next generation is playing with them... hah!

[–]poke588 0 points1 point ago

I just gave up completely and wrote off the legos.

[–]chilltime240 3 points4 points ago

when the fuck were these invented???

[–]Durpadoo 4 points5 points ago

1988

[–]LtCthulhu 1 point2 points ago

Probably like '92 or '93.

[–]krogers1337 1 point2 points ago

Played with legos for all of my childhood... I've never even SEEN one of these... So many chipped baby teeth and cracked fingernails could have been avoided...

[–]Fodash 3 points4 points ago

We used to have this really terrible butter knife I used to pry apart stuck legos. Countless number of times I slipped and bluntly destroyed my fingers. I eventually gave up and used my teeth.

[–]devkwondoe 4 points5 points ago

Where was this gif 15 years ago!!!!!!

[–]Thydamine 8 points9 points ago

Angelfire.

[–]meijerbrantm 0 points1 point ago

xoom?

[–]phoenix7700 3 points4 points ago

Now try it with two 2x1's stuck together, that shit dont work

[–]mookusmaximus05 6 points7 points ago

2x1 were just a lost cause lol. that just became a new piece hahaha

[–]yurimxpxman 0 points1 point ago

Yes it does.

[–]seth030393 0 points1 point ago

Where was this the whole time I was chipping teeth?!

[–]demonhalo 1 point2 points ago

Looks like LEGO clippers or something.

[–]GormanBrother -1 points0 points ago

Many of my Legos have dents on them, because i used my damn teeth.

[–]EndlessAutumn 1 point2 points ago

Ah, the good ole debricker.

[–]Drunkinlullabys 0 points1 point ago

So biting or trying to jam my nails in between them (usually leading to pain of some form) wasn't the correct way to take those apart huh?

[–]TheSemiTallest 0 points1 point ago

I never had any of these when I was playing with LEGO. Since then, I've seen bunches of pictures of people holding one of them saying how it saved their teeth, etc., but never knew how it actually worked. This .gif explains that you need two of them! It all makes sense now.

[–]anicolette 0 points1 point ago

I wonder how many fingernails this knowledge would've saved.

[–]enterlion 0 points1 point ago

Holy shit... 27 years later, and now I know what they were for...

[–]eliminatedzero 0 points1 point ago

Oh god i never knew this exsists!! if i had one of these my teeth would appreciate it.

[–]fluxxx500 0 points1 point ago

I only ever had one :(

[–]bothater3000 0 points1 point ago

i was wondering what those were

[–]ErroneousOctopus 1 point2 points ago

LEVERAGE.

[–]schec 0 points1 point ago

I had these and I knew how to use them. The only problem was, the remover thingy was always weaker than the two parts holding onto each other. I would put it on and tilt it and it would come right back off.

[–]TjallingOtter 0 points1 point ago

I just used a knife.

[–]mashingthekeys -1 points0 points ago

Are people really this stupid that they're only figuring this out now?

[–]enragethehive 0 points1 point ago

I cut the shit out of my childish skin with an exacto knife. Was I doing it wrong all these years?!!?

[–]Aggrodackel 0 points1 point ago

THAT FUCKIN SHIT DOES NEVER WORK!

[–]Ghooble 0 points1 point ago

Did we kill it with our love?

[–]bad-r0bot -1 points0 points ago

Good thing they only gave you tw....I mean one XD I had 4 moving boxes full of legos and only one of those damned things!

[–]pgsgdd 0 points1 point ago

what is this a lego nail clipper?

[–]nick041 0 points1 point ago

Well that doesn't matter. They only gave you one.

[–]T3mporaryGold 0 points1 point ago

I thought those were door stoppers!

[–]804R 0 points1 point ago

I knew there was a reason I kept 2 of those!

[–]DarthToker 0 points1 point ago

THATS WHAT THOSE THINGS ARE USED FOR!! Ohhh my wonderful teeth! what shame

[–]vaderschild 0 points1 point ago

What the fuck I had no idea that's how it worked

[–]mcarrode 0 points1 point ago

I must've been a child genius.

[–]wish_i_was_clever 0 points1 point ago

i never even had ONE of these! which frickin star-pirate-racecar pack did this come in?!?!

EDIT: for EMphasis

[–]elbruce -1 points0 points ago

To be honest, those things didn't work that well. Half the time the forces holding the legos together were stronger than the ones you're using to pull them apart.

[–]Astralwizerdd 0 points1 point ago

I never bit flat pieces to get them apart... I just tore the skin underneath my finger nails, then you can resume playing once you clean off the blood.

[–]JHDarkLeg 0 points1 point ago

I have buckets and buckets of Lego's including the awesome 6990 Monorail Transport System and have never seen one of these. Did they only come out after the 80's or something?

[–]MLG_Jeff 0 points1 point ago

This calls for overly manly man to give us a lecture on teeth

[–]obitechnobi 0 points1 point ago

I want to do it with my food..

[–]SomeFakeInternetName -1 points0 points ago

All my legos had teeth marks on them.

[–]dogfacedboy420 0 points1 point ago

No. Way.

[–]jondiggsit 0 points1 point ago

This needs to be the front page immediately!

[–]Loushius 0 points1 point ago

I honestly never had a problem using one of these.

[–]erraticfollower 1 point2 points ago

i just used a knife

[–]Sqk7700 0 points1 point ago

Ditto, always had a butter knife.

[–]erraticfollower 0 points1 point ago

knives were the way to go

[–]waynehell 0 points1 point ago

stuff your fingernail in there and enjoy the pain, you sissy

[–]milftracker 0 points1 point ago

fingernails. that is all.

[–]kijib 0 points1 point ago

where was this when I was 5?!

[–]Upsidedowndog 0 points1 point ago

[–]warrenseth 0 points1 point ago

So our lego-themed doorstops could have save me time and that lego I once swallowed?

[–]mattj7 0 points1 point ago

I used my teeth SOLEY for like 13 years. Why didn't these come with every set to discourage dental injuries?

[–]benclayton 0 points1 point ago

Fucking 13 years of using it as a Lego doorstop for NOTHING!

[–]Tearill 0 points1 point ago

That's for pussys

[–]Fusrohduh 0 points1 point ago

Holy hell!!! thats what those are for? I always thought they were fucked up gangplanks. No wonder my spaceships and pirate ships always looked like shit. I feel like I've lost out on an entire childhood.

[–]Slanderous 0 points1 point ago

Give me a lever long enough and a place to stand and I will move the earth

-Archimedes 220 BC

[–]DullDawn 0 points1 point ago

ALL THESE YEARS!!!

[–]NCC74656 0 points1 point ago

i remember these things... they never fucking worked, i just never cut my finger nails to short as a kid and that was all i needed.

[–]Mozen 0 points1 point ago

I used to think that those pieces were ramps for handicapped people. I was not a smart child.

[–]KnockedUpGinger 1 point2 points ago

thank you i'm not the only one...always thought how nice they added wheel chair ramps.

[–]jpaul3211 0 points1 point ago

Why the fuck is this in r/pics?

[–]gpryde 0 points1 point ago

So thats what those are for! Many hours of my childhood were wasted!

[–]theoncomingstorm11 0 points1 point ago

It's a fucking lego enzyme.

[–]speedstix 0 points1 point ago

WTF is this shit? It's all about missing teeth, bloody nails and deformed lego pieces.

[–]JamesAlonso 0 points1 point ago

you fucking stole this from the lego thread faggot

[–]zayonis 0 points1 point ago

So they're not door-stops?

[–]little_gnora 0 points1 point ago

Mind blown.

[–]RExOINFERNO 0 points1 point ago

Wait what the hell just happened?!

[–]boiler_up 0 points1 point ago

False. One of my friends actually had these. They didn't work for shit. Granted our legos were old, dirty, and beat to shit so they stuck like glue. Not that that's uncommon.

[–]CndConnection 0 points1 point ago

Wow I honestly thought that shit was a lego door stopper.

[–]Lstotch 0 points1 point ago

no fucking shit thats how

[–]whatif_O 0 points1 point ago

i thought they were doorstops.

[–]Loblod 0 points1 point ago

OH MY GOD! I had two of those for my entire childhood and never figured it out! They came in my first ever set!

[–]Noise_Brigade 0 points1 point ago

I wish someone had told me this years ago.

[–]zdiggler 0 points1 point ago

probably get sue by lego in less than a min.

[–]BendTime 0 points1 point ago

Does no one here have fingernails????

[–]Skorpex 0 points1 point ago

ooooohhhhhhhhhhhh

[–]lalondtm 0 points1 point ago

Anyone else think it looks like nail clippers?

[–]ItsTHC 1 point2 points ago

[–]JesseCuster40 0 points1 point ago

Fingernails, people. Fingernails.

....or a putty knife.

[–]DrTRollingston 0 points1 point ago

All these years.... all this time... You needed two.

You... need... two...

YOU NEED TWO!!!!!!!!

[–]wyratt 0 points1 point ago

No, those are ramps to jump my sweet boxy cars off of.

[–]danceydancetime 0 points1 point ago

I usually just stuck the bottom one to the lego table I had...

[–]SKiLaser 0 points1 point ago

THANK YOU SO MUCH

[–]DopePhizh 0 points1 point ago

Not much is yet known about the mating rituals of LEGOs. But this fottage might help us understand it better.
