For a high school kick, it's really impressive that he made it that far to begin with.

[–]nope_nic_tesla 23 points24 points ago

A friend of mine hit a 51 yarder his senior year. I was very impressed.

[–]Austin1227 15 points16 points ago

A sophomore kicked a 50 yarder to send us into overtime in the state semifinals. It was unbelievable. Sadly we didn't win.

[–]DangerXX 1 point2 points ago

Friendly game, my Canadian 3A high school team playing a 4A Southern Californian game in a friendly exhibition. We would've gotten shut out if it weren't for a 60 yard fg our kicker hit.

[–]Chawp 14 points15 points ago

Yeah well, Canadian yards are shorter.

[–]White_Luigi 1 point2 points ago

Damn. Kid from my high school kicked 64 yards. Then he got recruited and barely played in college.

[–]Joaf 0 points1 point ago

That's insane. The world record is 69 yards. How did he not play???

[–]p0pnfr3sh89 4 points5 points ago

High schoolers usually kick off a block. It adds distance to kicks, like kicking off a Tee for the kickoff, but a little of a boost. So, it likely isn't as impressive as you think.

[–]TheOnlyBoss 3 points4 points ago

Where did you go to high school? They didn't use blocks where I went.

[–]Grammar_PoPo 2 points3 points ago

this. we had our kicker back in high school kicking field goals from mid-field. Having a tee makes it a lot easier.
he's actually the backup kicker for the Houston Texans now.

[–]BigRedRobotNinja 0 points1 point ago

That's probably a pretty sweet gig. Sure, he's not pulling down quarterback pay, but he could potentially make league minimum for a couple decades if he's lucky.

[–]Grammar_PoPo 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, he's actually on IR for the season right now. Somhow got a season ending injury? haha

[–]White_Luigi 0 points1 point ago

Haha, don't ask me. I guess he had a knee injury at one point? I mean, he played, and he had some big ones, but nothing like he did in high school.

Of course, we don't need him this year :D

[–]dumpyduluth 1 point2 points ago

dude from my high school hit two 50 yarders in the same game. later kicked for minnesota and was the all time big ten scoring leader

[–]Skunk73 24 points25 points ago

bonk Shit. bonk Oooh, wait... bonk YesyesyesaaaghFUCK.

[–]phliuy 93 points94 points ago

Yes!!!!!

I can finally use my disappointed donovan mcnabb gif!

The redskins kicker missed a field goal that bounced off the crossbar, prompting this reaction.

[–]Ogretarts 9 points10 points ago

That should have been his reaction every time he went 1, 2, 3, and out in Philly.

[–]Killobyte 4 points5 points ago

Would rather that than the laughing and joking on the sideline...

"Too bad I just threw 2 passes 10 yards short, then an interception... better just laugh it off."

[–]Aquard 3 points4 points ago

McNabb rarely threw interceptions, though.

Philly fans, you are retarded, and did not appreciate the magnificent player you had, when he was in his prime.

BTW, thanks for Kolb.

EDIT: Sorry, I realized you're most likely a Redskins fan. I can't say anything bad about the Redskins, they usually take a game from Dallas.

[–]jaycrew 15 points16 points ago

McNabb rarely threw interceptions, though.

I've never seen another quarterback hit his receivers' feet as accurately.

[–]NomadofExile 1 point2 points ago

To be fair, after alligator arms Pinkston would bobble balls that DBs would eat up, I'd rather miss short too.

[–]tenballben 7 points8 points ago

Every guy in Philly loved McNabb when he was in his prime, that's what made it so hard to watch when he started thinking people had hands on their feet and threw it to the turf. Source: Living in Philly.

[–]Killobyte 3 points4 points ago

I agree he was great when he was in his prime, but that broken leg changed everything. I also agree Kolb is a good QB, but he needs a decent O-line to stand behind, which sadly we couldn't provide him. We had to go with Vick because in Philly it's scramble or die.

[–]Ogretarts 0 points1 point ago

I agree, he was a great athlete until he got injured and then it was frustrating/painful to watch the Eagles for the next couple of years.

[–]NomadofExile -2 points-1 points ago

McNabb was one of the greatest QBs to lack a WR ever.

[–]P0llyPrissyPants 2 points3 points ago

Eli had the same exact reaction Monday night. I can't find a video of it though.

[–]russizm 35 points36 points ago

[–]douglasr007 3 points4 points ago

Can't imagine my reaction as an Eagles fan after Andy Reid called the timeout on the first kick

and then my reaction with the second one thinking it was a good kick

[–]NomadofExile 3 points4 points ago

My gf and dog vacated the room as my rage seemed to scare them. Then vacated the apt thinking I was raging even further.

[–]PhiladelphiaIrish 3 points4 points ago

It involved ridiculous celebration gestures, loud swearing, and the slandering of walruses.

[–]russizm 2 points3 points ago

It was like this:

YES!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!

[–]xyphere 1 point2 points ago

NFL GIF of the week.

[–]snoharm 0 points1 point ago

As a Giants fan, this seriously sunk my heart. I was just getting over it.

Go Kings High School!

[–]kreimerd 2 points3 points ago

I was wondering if anyone else knew where this came from. The green and gold team was Little Miami wasn't it?

[–]quadnips 5 points6 points ago

This is at my high school! That's absolutely incredible.

[–]goodfruit25 5 points6 points ago

Me too kings?

[–]quadnips 2 points3 points ago

[–]Get_Smart 14 points15 points ago

[–]MALE_NURSING_STUDENT 0 points1 point ago

Is that French Field in Kent, Wa?

[–]GoNDSioux 2 points3 points ago

Woo! French Field!! I used to play high school football there from 2004-2008! Sadly, that's not French in the gif. French got FieldTurf in...'07, I think, and the turf has a big script "Kent" at midfield, and KL, KR, KM and KW in the endzones. I can see how you'd think that though, those do look a lot like the away bleachers and the open end on the south side of the field.

Here's the Google Maps photo of French Field

[–]Ponder07 2 points3 points ago

Nope, it's Kings Stadium in Kings Mills, OH.

[–]lebowskisweater 1 point2 points ago

Franch.

[–]Cheewy 2 points3 points ago

HE should look at it his way: he must be the only man alive who did that

[–]pwnies 0 points1 point ago

I'm the only man alive to respond to your comment just now.

[–]Cheewy 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, but anyone could do that (if they care about)

[–]pwnies -1 points0 points ago

Anybody can kick a football.

[–]Drewmcfalls21 6 points7 points ago

Hive that man a field goal for being fucking awesome.

[–]Bananarine 77 points78 points ago

The give mind is confused.

[–]Rockchurch 4 points5 points ago

Don't live-talk me, turkey!

[–]Mr_Bergstrom -2 points-1 points ago

A turkey is a bad person.

[–]Mack488 1 point2 points ago

I would allow the kicker to rage for a while after that bit.

[–]pabosaki 1 point2 points ago

Newport high school?

[–]Ponder07 1 point2 points ago

Nope, Kings High School.

[–]ohsahs 1 point2 points ago

Go Knights!

[–]mperehinec 1 point2 points ago

Pretty sure that is mansion park in Altoona, PA. Anyone have any ideas?

[–]Ponder07 1 point2 points ago

Negative. It's Kings High School in Kings Mills, OH.

[–]sassr 1 point2 points ago

Is it still a live ball if it hits the upright and bounces back onto the field? I believe the rule is that it can be caught and returned, but I don't know if hitting the upright rules it out of bounds or not.

[–]ChopChopperDan 3 points4 points ago

By hitting the crossbar, it's ruled out of bounds. It is a playable ball if it is caught in bounds, though.

[–]lawlrhus 0 points1 point ago

I don't know the rules for field goals other than I've seen Devin Hester return a field goal that fell short (and didn't hit the uprights) for a score. I was thinking if one of those offensive players hadn't slowed up and kept sprinting instead maybe he could have laid out and caught the ball of the bar in the endzone. Even if it didn't count it would have been cool.

[–]AlmostHonestAbe 1 point2 points ago

Fuckin' wind, man. Fuckin' wind.

[–]Arzy 1 point2 points ago

is there a youtube of this?

[–]Ponder07 0 points1 point ago

Will a Google Video work?

[–]Basselopehunter 0 points1 point ago

I may be a little rusty on my footballin rules, but I thought that if it crossed the plane, that it counted.

[–]ehbones 0 points1 point ago

COC? Stadium????!!!!

[–]amorallawngnome 0 points1 point ago

I feel like this is a visual representation of Al Gore's presidential campaign.

[–]garrett_fritz 0 points1 point ago

Was that Bad Luck Brian?

[–]MemeTLDR 0 points1 point ago

I'm like 90% positive this is at my high school. Source?

[–]down_vote_magnet 21 points22 points ago

Your memory, apparently.

[–]MemeTLDR 1 point2 points ago

Ah thanks! I knew I knew it from somewhere. To the batcave!

[–]kreimerd 2 points3 points ago

Kings vs Little Miami HS (suburbs of Cincinnati)

[–]Ponder07 1 point2 points ago

Holy shit that's my high school. I went to Kings High School and the kid was a grade above me. He is now a punter/kicker at Miami (Ohio) University. He actually ended up making a 55 yard field goal that next season.

EDIT: Jk it's not him.

[–]Boneman22 2 points3 points ago

You are thinking of the wrong kid. This kicker was in the '07 class and never kicked at Miami.

[–]Ponder07 0 points1 point ago

You're right, my bad. I should have known, I played soccer against the guy.

[–]Badwaytogo -4 points-3 points ago

Would you believe I made a 40 yard field goal?

[–]PyloniusMaximus 13 points14 points ago

I bet I could throw a football over that mountain.

[–]Coryperkin15 -2 points-1 points ago

I dont play football or soccer, I have kicked 50 with a CFL or 40 with an NFL ball :) Not consistently though. (Almost forgot about the 10 yard endzone upright difference)

[–]shadalator -1 points0 points ago

To me it looks like it falls over the far side and therefore a good FG

[–]snoharm 0 points1 point ago

It didn't.

[–]rubbertoe15 0 points1 point ago

[–]ICritMyPants -3 points-2 points ago

I don't even like American football but that was hilariously unlucky.
