I grew up in a little town called Chesterton Indiana at the tip bottom of Lake Michigan. I used to work for the National Lakeshore doing roads and trails work. This is a picture of the place I call home. Those beaches are magical and rival any beaches on the sea.
I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see this on the front page. Thank you.

I camped at the Indiana Dunes State Park the last two summers and my friends and I have walked around the beach at night and seen similar views. I can't wait to go back.

I moved to Seattle earlier this year from Indianapolis. High school in Carmel, college in Angola, and first big girl jobs in Indianapolis. I've been a lot of places--domestic and abroad--but photos like this remind me how awesome Indiana really is. Folks on the west coast don't know shit about Steak and Shake and White Castle.
