Beware of trading scammers!

A subreddit for anything related to games (but not sports).

"Related" means that posts must contain gaming-related content in the link/post body, not just a "forced" connection via the title or a caption added to the content.

Posting Rules

  • Posts must be directly gaming-related. Thus, "generic" image macros/memes (where the character itself is not related to gaming) like Scumbag Steve, Good Guy Greg, etc. will be removed. Something that "reminds you of a game", or "looks like something from a game" is also not an appropriate submission; similarly, reaction GIFs are also not appropriate as submissions.

  • Following Reddiquette is encouraged

  • No "general" URL shorteners (bitly, tinyurl, etc). Single-site URL shorteners (such as youtu.be or fav.me) are allowed.

  • No game or product giveaway of any kind

  • NSFW submissions and comments must be labeled

  • Spoilers can be posted using the following formatting:
    [X Kills Y](/spoiler)
    Result: X Kills Y.

  • To mark a spoiler as relevant to a specific game/topic, use the alternate formatting:
    [Player 1 wins](/spoiler "Pong")
    Result:
    Player 1 wins

  • Report posts containing spoilers not using the above method

  • Don't post users' personal information.

Could be played up to 4 players, thanks to these.

Interplay earlier published an identical but less known game, based on D&D universe : Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance.

These games defined console-played HnS games for me.

Edit : published, not created.

Baldur's Gate and Champions of Norath are incredibly freaking addicting when you're playing with three other friends. I spent many a night back in high school at a friends house playing with people.

Just to clarify, you're saying you CAN play Baldur's Gate with more than just two people?

I am not positive, they kind of blend together after so many years.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II... I really loved that game. Played through it co-op with my uni roommate.

I was a dark elf wizard with a spell that made people stand still (I think Sleep or Hold Person). My friend was the dwarf rogue who maxed the skill that let him kick enemies to get additional loot.

I would hold them, he'd kick loot out of them, then we'd kill them. Every. Single. Time. We were the greatest muggers Baldur's Gate ever saw.

As a HUGE Everquest fan, I am not sure how I didn't know that this existed.

It is still fun to play. Pick it up.

Loved this game on the PS2 together with Timesplitters. Played the hell out of these two games with friends.

Great game.

I love this game, my girlfriend and I still play this every once in a while, and also the sequel. Return to Arms.

Me and my brothers friends played the living Ruck out of those games

[–]SirBordeaux 0 points1 point ago

My best friend and I spent countless hours on it. The shaman, endgame, OP..

This brings back so many memories.. I would stay up all night every night during the summer to play this with my brother.

Try co-op Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn. Did it with my bro, 3 characters each. Was incredible fun.

My brother and I have been going through with one character each (unless necessary). We made it through BG1 just fine and hopefully we can manage 2 as well.

[–]Soulsmith 0 points1 point ago

I'm not a fan of having a single character because you haven't got much option wise to muck around with.

My 13 year old little brother invites his friends over every weekend and play this game all night long.

Fuck. Yes.

This game was something I couldn't go a day without playing when I was younger. Unfortunately they never made another after Return to Arms :(

This was a fantastic game, as was the Baldur's Gate games (they're on the same engine I believe) but are there any PS3 games in the 2 player HnS genre? A friend of mine and I have a "nerd night" once every couple months to sort of relive our days of being young (we're 32) where we stay up all night gaming and eating junk food and we're looking for a good option if we get tired of TL2.

I played this with my sister when I was a kid. Everytime she would pick up new gear, he had to pull up the inventory window and see which skirt matched with what boots and the like.

By the end of the first level (which took about an hour) I was decked out while she looked like a sailor scout.

Maybe I'll dig this out and play it again. You know, if it didn't get sold at a garage sale.

i loved the interface in this game. reminded me of Dungeon Siege. also, dat vampire (only people who have played will remember her)

[–]Anteres 0 points1 point ago

That game was a lot of fun if you could get a multi-tap, and 3 friends to actually work together and not hog all the loot.

[–]GeoFlux 0 points1 point ago

I had this game and the thing I remember the most is the Scottish warrior saying "Can't carry anymore" whenever you're over cumbered. I can still hear that accent now...

[–]Merfen 1 point2 points ago

I used to play this 4 players with my friend, step dad and my step dad's friend. Funny story, my step dad was a ranged class and at one point he went to the bathroom. in order to move you had to have all 4 people move together so we were stuck waiting. Then my dog came in and sat on the controller, moving his guy forward, while also shooting the bow constantly. We laughed our ass off until he came back to take over.

[–]kuj4k -1 points0 points ago

2 players....Why not 4?

[–]Rifall 0 points1 point ago

So much win. The only 0s2 game from my childhood I didn't need a dance pad for.

[–]TheEmoPanda 1 point2 points ago

OUT OF MANA!

[–]drysart 0 points1 point ago

It's a travesty this game doesn't play right in emulation.

[–]Prettymotherfucker 1 point2 points ago

CoN is sooooo dope and I'ma let you finish but Baulders Gate II: Dark Alliance is the best rpg of all time

[–]jayhawkfilm -3 points-2 points ago

as if this is better than Dark Alliance. Pssht.

[–]Anteres -1 points0 points ago

OP never implied that.
