                Same here... dozens of peacocks live in our neighborhood and just roam around totally free. They fly up to our big Pine trees and roost for the night to poop on our roof and make murderous screams all night long.

                                  Same, they fly (about as much a chicken or turkey can fly) all the time. To get away from people, jump on the roof, etc. They make the most annoying sound of any animal ever, and you can hear it from what seems like miles away.

                                        They fly about as much as any other heavy bird. It is easier for them to walk around to forage, or just make a quick flight up to a branch and sit, but they'll fly a bit if they're trying to get somewhere.

                                          I grew up in a place where there are wild peacocks(Palos Verdes, CA) and yes this is falling with style. They are awful animals. I hate them. They think they can fly, but they just jump into the air and come crashing down into your fucking doors or windows. And they seem to only sound their "beautiful 'caw'" when people are sleeping. They shit everywhere and just ruin everything. I really connect with the comedy sketch " Louis C.K. Hates Deer", because that is how I feel about peacocks. I really tried to hit them in the head with rocks, but they are protected animals, so i couldn't shoot them. They ruined every morning of every day because they are horrible.

                                            I don't mean to sound unappreciative, it's a lovely picture but I don't understand the use of the word 'rare' in posts like this. My understanding of rare is that something is uncommon, or hard to find. I think once something makes it onto the internet it ceases to be rare, for the most part. A simple google can turn up dozens of flying peacocks, including this photo.

                                            A lot of people don't know peacocks can fly, mostly because the males don't fly unless necessary - their plumage is heavy and not only takes up a lot of energy resources to grow, but also to carry in flight.
