If those assclowns wold do more than camp and get involved in the actual process of government we would have a fighting chance. All their "occupying" and camping is jack and shit and quite frankly a waste of space since no one thought ahead more than the occupy part. There should have been a plan of media attention and a transition to getting involved.

You can look at my history - I've said it time and time again...trying to operate within a system that has been built against you is not going to work. The pen WAS mightier, but it's lame, malnourished, and dry now. If the pen is yin - the sword is yang.

That's just what they want you to think. Then they just keep on getting their way. They spread the idea that the system is so broken, no voting can fix it, but when you really look into it, you find that it's all just because of ignorant masses and knowledgeable abstainers. How much more perfect can they have it when a system is legitimate, but they have all the power de facto? The people who know better don't spread the word, don't vote, and will never effect any kind of change. All the rest just keep voting the corporations in and have no idea what's going on anyway. So the way it is, the state has all the legitimacy it could ever want anyway.

But if people were educated... if the people who knew better voted and organized and spread the word...

The state's not going to correct itself. It's gotta be voted in, and it can be voted out. The people still have the power, but apathy prevails.

I agree with this, in theory, however the system in place will make sure there's an outcome, regardless if "nobody" voted (no matter what, under any circumstance, no matter how dire or dangerous, old people will vote: fact).

Everything here is true except how it would be better for everyone, because like I said, one of the 2 people will be elected, no matter what.

One thing I have learned being a political science major would be VOTE. If you don't vote, you can't bitch. You did nothing to voice your opinion where it does actually count. You don't like the Dems or Rebus, so, vote for a candidate that you do. So what, they won't win? BUT, your support through the polls could actually boost that persons influence all through popularity. Encouragement to run again. A number of things. Furthermore, if you don't like one asshole, and you don't like the other: you still got to count which one is the bigger asshole and whos policies would greater effect you. Don't hide behind the guise that you are insignificant.

I put a post like this into the category of somebody posting 'yolo' or 'swag' or some stupid shit like that.
