The reddit alien on the side of the hat. Oh my god.

[–]thekeanu 31 points32 points ago

Reddit is mainstream. Not surprising.

This website is cancer.

[–]ellison11 1 point2 points ago

I think this website is just presupposed.

[–]catlaw 11 points12 points ago

I'd like to see Richard Dawkins wearing this in a recursive Droste vortex. Then the universe would be stuck in a continuous implosion-explosion loop (akin to some animated GIFs we observe on here) from the meta-self-awareness.

[–]Ortus 5 points6 points ago

While doing a cameo on Community? Titled "memetic theory"?

[–]soundsjustlike 9 points10 points ago

the sweatshirt is pretty typical young tween overzealous fandom, but the HAT....THAT FUCKING HAT

[–]zeedevil 7 points8 points ago

Thank god this is in /r/cringe and not /r/funny.

[–]roterghost 9 points10 points ago

Please, please don't let "memes" become a brand name.

[–]AdrianBrony 14 points15 points ago

[–]Sherrodactyl 9 points10 points ago

The day the cancer spread.

[–]LiterallyKesha -2 points-1 points ago

Like a bau-six.

[–]niallkb 5 points6 points ago

the word's already bastardised enough, it now apparently is a suitable replacement for any kind of comic or captioned image

[–]AdrianBrony 8 points9 points ago

it has completely taken over the meaning of the word "image macro"

[–]pantheonwhaley 5 points6 points ago

That's two words Adrian.

[–]theVet 4 points5 points ago

WHY?

[–]gay_unicorn666 50 points51 points ago

As if the print wasn't bad enough, but they actually had to display the word "memes" on the hat?

And a black person wearing it makes it even weirder.

[–]Kromax 3 points4 points ago

You had me for one sentence, and then you lost me.

[–]well_honestly 0 points1 point ago

He had me for half a sentence. The print looks fine to me, but the word "Memes" shouldn't have been there. Also, I see a lot of black people wearing cartoon stuff (TMNT, Dora the Explorer, etc).

[–]louisCKyrim 29 points30 points ago

Why is weird a black person is wearing it? I see black American friends on facebook posting memes based on these characters. Or even black carribean people from other countries adopting these memes. Or, for example, when I was in Malaysia there was a protest there and tons of young muslim asian people were out with "meme signs"...

You think memes are "things white people like"?

[–]Zombi3Kush 8 points9 points ago

He would like to think so. In his world that's how things work.

[–]fiddyfell 7 points8 points ago

That's how it works in the world of gay_unicorn666.

[–]smackmysack 0 points1 point ago

when i think of /b/ i generally don't think of black people

[–]moARRgan 3 points4 points ago

especially considering the liberal use of the word "nigger"

[–]ireland123 0 points1 point ago

Almost as weird as when you see a black man wearing glasses.

[–]mohamed613 2 points3 points ago

Almost as weird as an Irish man walking past a pub.

[–]seamouse -2 points-1 points ago

I love hoodies designed like this. Not saying that I like specifically how the faces are laid out, but I like the black and white graphic novel aesthetic when it's done well on clothing.

[–]TapionXIII -2 points-1 points ago

Woah woah woah, what did you just say?

Everyone knows that reddit loves turtleneck sweaters and dress pants.

[–]scooterputin -1 points0 points ago

Holy shit, dissent?

Eat reddit's downvotes, bitch!

[–]Zombi3Kush 0 points1 point ago

Why did you get downvoted? Lol

[–]bacasarus_rex -3 points-2 points ago

This is probably going to become a meme.

[–]lazydictionary 4 points5 points ago

Just stupid, not cringeworthy. At least no for me.

[–]Lawdylawdylawd 1 point2 points ago

People who don't absolutely despise everything about this, are the problem.

[–]gay_unicorn666 139 points140 points ago

Why should anyone despise something as harmless as a kid in a dorky shirt and hat?

[–]Lawdylawdylawd 1 point2 points ago

I don't hate the kid, I hate people who think rage faces are funny.

So yeah, I guess I hate the kid.

[–]gay_unicorn666 100 points101 points ago

You hate someone for thinking that a particular drawing is funny? That's pretty irrational.

[–]reddit41 20 points21 points ago

As someone who has been on and off 4chan since it first started, I don't give a shit anymore. Memes or rage comics or whatever spread throughout the internet quickly and much of the time lose the creativity and original intent. Look at the icanhazcheezburger website. It's shit. Once these jokes hit the mainstream they lose that special "internet in-joke" status and we see things like the OP pic. Memes come and go.

[–]hawaiiandave 10 points11 points ago

What, that your underground edgy website is used by people not exactly like yourself?

[–]Lawdylawdylawd 4 points5 points ago

Usually it's enough to stay away from /r/ffffffuuuu, /r/adviceanimals, /r/atheism and r/funny, to be honest.

[–]JupitersClock 4 points5 points ago

List grows longer the longer you're here

[–]Lawdylawdylawd -1 points0 points ago

Obviously not for me. And that list is my list. So, I can't really see that it does.

[–]SaucyWiggles 4 points5 points ago

Redditor for four months

[–]JohnnK 1 point2 points ago

[–]gibletsandsyrup 8 points9 points ago

Nah, people who feel strongly about this one way or the other are the problem, if there is one. Either way, it's two sides of the same nerd coin.

[–]GiantKanen -2 points-1 points ago

because opinions are facts and never ever subjective.

[–]Lawdylawdylawd -2 points-1 points ago

That's exactly why I voiced my opinion on the matter.

[–]GiantKanen -2 points-1 points ago

your opinion is bad.

[–]Lawdylawdylawd -2 points-1 points ago

And that's obviously your opinion.

[–]RICH_LITTLE 3 points4 points ago

i think everyone who says they "don't want to live on this planet anymore" should be made to leave the planet.

much worse things have happened than some kid wearing a hat with shitty drawings on it.

[–]trampus1 25 points26 points ago

http://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/10p8mb/thats_it_im_done_get_me_off_of_this_planet/

Way to steal top comment from the other thread, /u/RICH_LITTLE. If you're going to karma whore, at least be original.

[–]TheDroopy -1 points0 points ago

In all fairness, OP stole the picture too so.....

[–]magister0 2 points3 points ago

stole

Reddit is a content aggregator, "stealing" is literally the entire point of this website

[–]TheDroopy 0 points1 point ago

It's still frowned upon to repost a link from nine hours earlier.

[–]magister0 1 point2 points ago

No, it's not. Not everyone is subscribed to every subreddit. There's absolutely nothing wrong with doing that.

[–]TheDroopy 1 point2 points ago

Yes, it is.

[–]magister0 0 points1 point ago

Oh, okay!

[–]jellybeaner 10 points11 points ago

Where was that said

[–]gay_unicorn666 -3 points-2 points ago

I believe that was the title of the original post of this picture. He probably should have put his comment in that thread.

[–]Sanster 5 points6 points ago

I agree. I hate when people say that phrase.

[–]therealelainebenes 0 points1 point ago

On the other hand, I would totally rock a hoodie with shitty_watercolour's work on it...

[–]Daemonskald -1 points0 points ago

Not that bad.

[–]InsertRelevantMeme -1 points0 points ago

kanker

[–]TommyHollywood 1 point2 points ago

THAT'S. SO. SWAGTASTIC.

[–]mitchkombat -1 points0 points ago

For a second I forgot that I wasn't on the front page of Reddit and nearly ragequit firefox.

[–]TheDroopy 1 point2 points ago

Hey remember when this was posted earlier today

[–]bluehairedbeaver 0 points1 point ago

You know, when I first saw all those self posts bitching about non-cringeworthy content, it annoyed me. Now their complete disappearance is irritating because we're getting posts like this that don't belong on /r/cringe

Isn't this subreddit for videos, anyways?

[–]Peterod 0 points1 point ago

Victor Cruz?

[–]pjbsod 0 points1 point ago

Probably posted it on his FB and got tons of likes and comments.

"this is so great holy crap where did u get le hat!!!! xDDDDDDDDDDDD"

"like a SIR! lel lel lel lel"

[–]daskrip 0 points1 point ago

Not cringe-worthy at all, sorry. I tried cringing, but my face refused to scrunch up. It was all like, "really, just a guy in silly clothes? Why would I scrunch up for that?"

[–]TheNickOswald 1 point2 points ago

I... I dont know what to say for this. not surprisingly this picture gave me cancer.

[–]tenhou 0 points1 point ago

Didn't know they started selling 9gag merchandise.

[–]therealelainebenes 0 points1 point ago

I like how "Forever Alone" is very large and on the chest of the hoodie... perhaps with good reason.

[–]itsjaximus 0 points1 point ago

meme-themed street wear...so pointless lol

[–]Litra 0 points1 point ago

le meme arrows missing

[–]kvlt616 0 points1 point ago

I'd buy that for a dollar

[–]abillonfire -1 points0 points ago

Memes belong on the internet >.>

[–]JollySpace 4 points5 points ago

Memes don't belong anywhere. They should die.

[–]Saenii 0 points1 point ago

Really it's just the macros that are stupid and overused.

[–]abillonfire -3 points-2 points ago

I don't agree entirely, a few do though e.g. Bad Joke Eel, it's just a rip off of Lame Pun Coon

[–]RegencyAndCo 0 points1 point ago

EVERYBODY CHILL THE FUCK OUT this is just some kid in a terrible outfit, nothing worth a presidential debate.

[–]goldwaite 1 point2 points ago

I wonder what they'd think about this over at /r/malefashionadvice?

[–]trampus1 13 points14 points ago

As long as he's wearing some expensive, girly looking boots with skinny jeans tucked in his socks, they'll love it.

[–]MemeBot420 3 points4 points ago

"jeans tucked in his socks" that.... that's the ticket right there.

[–]goldwaite 2 points3 points ago

Man, I like a lot of those boots, but I still laughed at this. Good job!

[–]axiom88 -2 points-1 points ago

Bah, I know the down votes will come but cringing on the topic of using Memes is very very biased. I welcome our culture into a more mainstream understanding(Even though it's being perverted I'm sure) but sitting here saying that Memes deserve to be some hidden thing for some on the internet defies what Memes are today. They are things that gain large popularity among a substantial number of

Internet users, and as people use the Internet more it means more regular users as well as geeks/needs get exposed to that. And you know what, I'm totally okay with that. But it does mean I'll see a nyan cat thirty, a rage face goodies, or people referring to trolling. It just means there's more ground for us to relate.

/r/cringe I thought was supposed to mean awkward, unbearable, embarrassing, and painful moments, not just some point when the internet doesn't like that it's leaking into the real world.

[–]Deric 2 points3 points ago

no, fuck you. Cancer ALERT. And why the fuck cant you just say what you wanna say? why do you have to state from the start that your shitty opinion is unpopular? "hurrr gunna get downvoted to skyrim". You should have some fucking balls when stating your opinions.

[–]magister0 -1 points0 points ago

What's your point?

[–]Wolfosaurus 0 points1 point ago

It was posted four times yesterday? That's my point. Why don't you repost it again and ruin Reddit just a little bit more so you can keep collecting that useless karma.

[–]magister0 0 points1 point ago

It's not a repost if it's in a different subreddit. We're not all subscribed to all of them.

[–]floor-pi -3 points-2 points ago

If this is something someone made by hand, it's very well done.

[–]NotAnybody -2 points-1 points ago

This is hardly cringeworthy

[–]Accipehoc 1 point2 points ago

Ugh.

[–]Lavaswimmer 1 point2 points ago

This... this is just awful.

[–]manofscience42 0 points1 point ago

Wow.

[–]Rits_Rockk -3 points-2 points ago

maybe rage comics would be more appropriate...?

[–]partypete125 -3 points-2 points ago

Those are rage faces, not memes.

[–]SystemicMystic -5 points-4 points ago

Why is this bad? Why is this worse than any other piece of clothing with those stupid memes on it?

[–]magister0 1 point2 points ago

It's not, they're all equally shit

[–]SystemicMystic 0 points1 point ago

Ahhhh gotcha.
