Yeah, that's why i don't really use Imgur anymore. It was awesome 6 to 8 months ago, i don't know what the fuck happened but the community there is just annoying. They're selectively moral and if you disagree with someone or tell them the painful truth, it's downvotes all day. Also, people do this sob story shit in the comments thread that drives me bat shit crazy. Irrelevant: i just broke up with my boyfriend today and i need some love! (a.k.a. upvotes)

Actually, those types of fights happened all the time until the whole neanderthal gang mentality and dumbshits with this "swag" and "yolo" shit started taking over. Talking to my dad and grandfathers growing up, I heard more about 1v1 fights from the playground to the bars and how both people were still respected afterwards, in comparison to the majority of street fights (as opposed to a ring) I've been in where I've almost always been outnumbered even when I wasn't the instigator. It's just this generation and it's the cowards who need the odds in their favor. I've had my ass kicked, and I've kicked some ass. Win some, lose some. The only time someone should jump in, is if their buddy is down for the count and the other dude isn't stopping, then just break it up.

That's the thing though, nowadays more often than not fights aren't a little "tussle" between two men. People assume that they/their friends are being attacked and it would make you seem like a pretty shitty friend for not helping out. A 'traditional' fight or something that's been building up (the two potential fighters trading insults and a circle of people forming) is one thing, but if a friend of mine accidentally steps on someone's shoes and gets sucker punched before he can even mutter an apology, I'm kicking the guy's face in.

No doubt, in a sucker punch scenario that's different. But the problem I see, is in the full video... dude is actually working both of them lol, then dude leaps from a 6 ft embankment. His feelings were hurt he couldn't tussle with him.

To be honest, I'm all about 1 on 1 tussles. Shit gets solved. Shit, when I was in the Army, if there was a major disagreement we would lock both persons affected in the locker cage room, have someone stand guard, and wait for a knock on the door. Funny thing is only 3 out of 10 occasions resulted in any actual physical contact. Once there isn't an audience to "show out", people become real humble about wanting to get physical.

Yup, street/bar fights are all about pride. When there's no audience, you don't have any one you're trying to save face for... I'll admit though, I have been the guy to say "ohhh, you gonna take that??" once or twice lol.

Who hasn't. Best proof of this is the epic beard man incident. Chick with the camera was all about the fight, when dude got hammered she flipped out saying "that ain't right". When I was younger I had the whole "I've got to prove something" attitude, and was in numerous fights. Doesn't help I like boxing and actually boxed for a while, but it was definitely about the "watch me fuck this guy up" feeling. I've only been in one fight since christmas of 2000, and it was more basic self defense than anything in 2010, a couple guys outside of a place I used to go to decided they were going to come at me. Never saw them in my life and no clue what it was about as I managed to end up on the ground with one guy in a full mount and his buddy kicking me in the head. Lucky the only injuries were a chipped tooth (old porcelain cap broke off) bridge of my nose was a little scraped, and a slight discoloration under my eye. Come to find out a week later, the owner of the place and one of the bouncers told me that lots of places around town had trouble with them two randomly starting shit with people for years (small town) and the one who had the full mount had just done his first mma competition. I was 30 at the time, they were early 20's.

As I agree, too many people believe that is the way it will go. If you can't find it in yourself to bite, groin kick, and eye gouge to win then you lost. There is no gentleman honor in a street fight, aggression and violence win every-time.

I didn't say it was a rule it just my opinion.. Iv seen my friends get in countless fights and seen them lose on many occasions.. But I didn't jump in because they got them selves into the situation.. They had a problem I'll let them deal with it.. If it got out of hand I would jump in (to stop it, not hospitalize some one) no matter what way it went..Don't write a check your ass can't cash.. I just don't like the way of the world now a days when it comes to shit like this.. I'm sure countless people would still be alive if everyone thought like this.. It just seems there is no such thing as a fair fight anymore..

I remember from middle school and on when people started talking about fighting and this argument always came up. Before anyone actually got into a fight they made up these rules and if you didn't follow them then you were a pussy. 1. No jumping in on a fight if it's 1v1. 2. No cheap shots. 3. No hitting below the belt.

Then people actually started to fight and you realize the rules don't matter. They only made those rules, because you can say whatever you want before you ever fight someone. You can make up any rule, but when it comes down to it and you're getting your ass kicked, people start to break those rules. So you start to realize those rules get replaced by 1. Don't get into a fight. 2. Don't expect a fair fight. 3. Don't get your ass kicked.

EDIT: Changed the last sentence. Basically, the moral is don't get into fights, but defend yourself no matter what.
