About Photoshop Battles

A subreddit for people to use photo manipulation software to create new images.

Official weekly battles are held where entries are removed for the first 24-hours to give an opportunity for more detailed submissions.

Battle winners pick the photo for the next battle (only upvotes are counted) and all entrants are given subreddit flair.

Rules for Submissions:

I. No Requests or Questions

  • Requests, such as "Please photoshop me or my friend", can be posted to /r/picrequests.

  • Questions, such as "Where else could he be?", or "What else could she be sticking in her mouth?" are not permitted.

II. Titles

  • Your title must be descriptive. Please accurately describe the subject of the photo.

  • No cliches such as "this has potential", "lets see what you guys can do", or "make this epic".

III. Image content

  • Images must be at least 500x500 pixels.
  • No technically low-quality images. Focus, framing, lighting, etc. are important.
  • No links to facebook.
  • NSFW tags must be used generously.
  • No albums, submissions must be a single image. NEW RULE

Submissions that do not follow the rules will be subject to removal by the moderators.

If you notice a submission that violates the rules, please report it to the mods, and send us a message letting us know why it was reported.

Voting

  • Please vote based on quality of work. Lazy shops shouldn't win just because they made you laugh. You can still vote funny stuff (we can't control you) but keep in mind that people spend lots of time making some really good submissions and deserve as much recognition as the next guy.

  • Downvoting constructively, in threads, is recommended.

  • Please do not downvote submissions because they do not have obvious potential. An image that does not have an easy punchline may be the most creatively inspiring to others.

Please report inappropriate content to the mods.

I was trying to use the clone stamp tool to take him out of the picture, but I got stuck. I'm not a good photoshopper, any tips for the areas around his head and around the R? (Areas that aren't able to just be cloned away, basically...)

Hey, here is the background and ol' brucey separated. I took them apart to make my entry.

I just typed an R in times new roman and positioned it where it looked good, made it bold and strong, then added an outer glow and some noise.

Oh and for where his head was, I duplicated the pant leg of the dude to his left and just flipped it. For the jacket of the dude on the right, I just cloned it from the guy wearing a dark jacket on the left. Then I cloned a seat from the same row to go between them!

The font in 'America' is italicised though, so you might have to straighten it a bit.

Its the "factor of 10" rule. Of all the millions of people that browse reddit, only ~10% vote on things, ~1% comment, and only about 0.1% submit links. Most of those are reposts.

Therefore, I think we can safely assume, all OC online is produced by less than .01% of the internet population.

A lot of people don't visit Reddit every day, and sometimes you just miss things even if you do. Different time zones, different subscribed subreddits, etc. There's a lot of different reasons someone might repost, and why that repost will be successful.
