Same here. I was just telling my wife that I've been listening to Rush all day long. In stark contrast to their complex rhythms and time changes I got to listen to 30 seconds of music I may not have listened to since I was four. I enjoyed the 30 seconds from that simple music box more than anything else I've played today. Very strong nostalgia there. I remember playing with that so much, my mom said I would play with it for hours. Now here I am at 43 looking back at that with wonder, reflecting on how much influence that toy had on my life. On another disk was Clair de Lune, my favorite composer by far is Debussy. I'm considered to be a rather clever man and it's been said that listening to music at an early age helps develop a child's mind. How much of what I am today is, at least in part, due to that simple toy?

I didn't really appreciate the post-punk they were trying to creation on the orange album and much like Weezer; blue album was the best.

Some old posts from Monday, you mean.

[–]Balthanos 4 points5 points ago

I still have one of these. I had more fun using my fingers to play the sounds rather than using the record.

I almost died getting these off the black black market in Turkey.

[–]BlissfulSon 1 point2 points ago

Dude, Edelweiss was my jam. My sister and I would always chill in her room and listen to that shit and play Playmobile.

[–]zorflieg 0 points1 point ago

Oh yeah, for me it has always gone. Neil Young, The Beatles, Edelweiss on the Fisher Price Record Player.

[–]Ritsu_sohma 0 points1 point ago

[–]BdrLen 0 points1 point ago

These were awesome. Built in the 70's and they would last for 30-40 years

[–]mattindustries 1 point2 points ago

I fucked up a brand new record last month the day I played it. :-(
