No it's fucking not, at least not in Macedonia. Games here cost waaaaaay too much to be bought legitimately (at least for our standard), so everyone pirates here, 0 fucks are given. Fifa is definitely more popular than pes

Not to get into a regional debate, but I was confused for a bit reading this. I'm from Macedonia (Greece) and everyone there plays PES. You won't see FIFA anywhere. Pirating is definitely huge, but PES on PS3 is hard to pirate...

Well,that is the thing isnt it? People in Montenegro dont even have a store for games so everyone pirates pes cuz fifa is better with online modes,ultimate team and whatnot. But a lot of my friends are transfering to fifa when they see daily updates,scores,downloading your own teams etc

I remember my first football game being fifa 2004 on ps1,then after that pes6 on the psp,then fifa 11 on the ps3,and right now im staying with fifa. But things always change and that is good

FIFA 13 is smoother gameplay and animation wise. Feels a lot more natural to me than FIFA 12 ever did. Less static. Goals feel more realistic.

This is pretty much as quickly as you can get the new season's squads into the game and out onto the shelves. It wouldn't make sense to release a football game at any other time of year.

This is depressing. This year's PES plays so much better than FIFA 13. I mean, the midfield play is pretty much nonexistent in FIFA.

Mostly. The brand is more easily recognized, and so people assume the game is better. To be honest it wouldn't matter if PES 2013 was the greatest sports game ever made.

You just have to put the names FIFA and EA together and people will buy it.

Really? In my days FIFA was a complete joke. I heard that that game has been improved but in this side of the world (Colombia) nobody cares about what the logos in the cover of the game. It’s maybe because we take the football deadly serious.

Yeah, but I'm guessing Colombia is not a main market. It's the same in Venezuela, everyone I know plays PES. We couldn't care less about all the branding, we want fun gameplay.

Yeah it may do, but it hasn't the last few years. My friends were 50/50 to which game they liked for years. But in 2008 fifa started to take a lead and all my pes friends switched to fifa. Now this years pes is the best in years, but no one was willing to take the risk on it, so no one bought it. And anything really good in pes this year will be in fifa next year.

Fifa always takes the good ideas from pes, but pes never takes the good ideas from fifa. So while fifa may be a year behind in certain parts on the on field gameplay it's ahead in every other aspect, so people tend to find it a more complete gaming experience .

It has taken almost this whole console generation to get back to what it does best, but now we are on the verge of a new console generation and I think pes will take a big hit again.

I'm not sure if it was on here I read the perfect analogy of Fifa. Playing it is like having sex with a beautiful hooker, it looks good and feels good but deep down you know there is just something about it that is wrong

In my opinion there never feels like there is any weight to Fifa, the passing, shooting and dribbling all feel like you are playing on ice. There is no real sense of control. The cheap difficulty is also annoying. You get scythed down and never get free kicks and then when you go near the computer player it's a free kick that 9/10 they will score from

im just going to say that i greatly prefer pes to fifa, i used to play both, but in my opinion fifa just got worse and worse. The only argument i have ever heard for why fifa is better then pes is that fifa has more licensing...seriously that does not affect the gameplay and there are datapacks that you can download to get the right names for everything, pes is a far better game but many cannot see that

Just look at the advertising, suave/douche guy in a hoodie with a bunch of douches lined up behind him ready to play red rover, or people playing soccer, if nothing else, marketing really shit the brick on this one.

Maybe I'm just bad with faces, but even when I was big into sports I rarely knew what the fellas looked like. Did they put his mug there thinking people would recognise him and that would sell games? Is a picture like that identifiable with soccer these days?
