Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

My Dad used to have a couple of those sticky low grit orbital sander pads stuck to the side of his tool box - finer one for chalk, rougher one for pencils.

Just putting this here because I think people may be interested - check out Dalton Ghetti (http://accidentalmysteries.blogspot.com/2010/08/carved-from-lead-in-pencils.html). He had an exhibition at the AVAM in Baltimore a few years ago. His work is pretty cool.

It's one of those construction style pencils so its a little bit wider than an average pencil, but doesn't mean it was any easier to sculpt. But whenever i see pencil art this always blows my mind how small it's carved and how they're interlocking.

They don't break due to the insane amount of effort on His part! Custom storage boxes, Only one photographer, and he NEVER Ships them.... when he shows them the gallery pays for him to drive with them on his lap literally to the show and he stands next to them during the opening to make sure they are viewed properly. (I was in a group show with him last year.... he even had a demo the day before!)
