I like it. I like it a lot.

Man, I really hope we don't end up trapped on this planet because we use up all our resources bickering instead of developing our future.

There are already startups trying to figure out asteroid mining.

Unfortunately, I've seen nothing to make me think the popular opinion will change. At least, in America, business (not science) is what driving society. Buying and selling shit to achieve social status. Most of us seem content to frolic in our squalor, probably because they mostly believe that "this life" isn't the one that matters...

You can only go one way ^

Am I the only one who found that irritating to read? Something about the spacing (no pun intended).

[–]whatisitdragons 2 points3 points ago

Wow, never thought of it like that. Brilliant and beautiful.

No, it's more along the lines of, "If we don't take stock of our current situation and plan accordingly, we may find ourselves at a point of no return where it is physically impossible for us to leave the surface of our own planet to obtain more resources for a society which is growing and, more importantly, consuming at greater and greater rates each and every year, because some of us didn't take into account that it was actually possible to deplete all of our natural resources in the first place."

That was poignant and really intelligent. Thank you for talking. Please continue.

(I know that sounded sarcastic but it wasn't!)

Very short sited man.

Exactly! Saying that we can't ever reverse the decision to go to space is short-sighted.
