During many ages there were witches. The Bible said so. the Bible commanded that they should not be allowed to live. Therefore the Church, after eight hundred years, gathered up its halters, thumb-screws, and firebrands, and set about its holy work in earnest. She worked hard at it night and day during nine centuries and imprisoned, tortured, hanged, and burned whole hordes and armies of witches, and washed the Christian world clean with their foul blood. Then it was discovered that there was no such thing as witches, and never had been. One does not know whether to laugh or to cry. Who discovered that there was no such thing as a witchthe priest, the parson? No, these never discover anything.

When i was chatolic, i felt pity and sorry for satan. First and most powerful angel of all, angel of art and expression... to fall so greatly. So i prayed for him. I talked to friend about that ( who is very close to church ) and he said not to do that because it is in their (angels) nature, once they choose it can never ever be changed, they don't want it to change. So it troubled me... ( but only for a short time ) how come an all mighty all able god can't do something that would not violate satans free will and still encourage him to be good and kind. Something that could, over time, make him a sweet nice angel we all could pray to. ... later i got upset with ever growing quantity bull***t, specificaly those that contradict science which led me to leaving the religion and feeling pity only for myself because i was naive silly person ( and i'm still probably the same naive silly person, only in less religious wrapping )
