Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  6. No animated images. Please submit them to /r/gif, /r/gifs, or /r/reactiongifs instead.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

Can also vouch for this because I was there and I saw this guy running around. I believe I was standing about 20 feet away from that cop car at one point, though before it was on fire (it's on Queen street). If I am not mistaken, the guy in the photo wasn't a protester as such, he was just kind of a looky-loo who was there for the spectacle (as was I) and wound up running around and doing crazy stuff and getting on camera.

I have read that he suffers from some mental illness and what you see in the photo is more attributable to that than to any kind of protest statement he was making, though I can't find a credible source for that information atm and I don't know if that is just a rumor started to discredit protestors or something.

I do remember him climbing up on top of the sign outside Steve's Music to watch the crazy. He didn't seem to me to be part of any organized group or protest. He just wound up being one of the faces of the protest bc he kept doing crazy stuff like climb buildings and dance semi-naked in front of flaming cop cars with his trumpet, so reporters kept taking and publishing his photos. With all due respect to my friends who work in the media, the news reports really didn't seem to have a clue wtf was going on at these protests and were just reporting garbage that looked good to the audiences at home. As usual.

I don't think anybody had a clue what was going on, everyone knew this shit was going to happen, I could see it coming from a mile away. I just holed myself up in my girlfriend at the times apartment for the weekend. A couple of buddies of mine got arrested for nothing more than wearing all black at a bad time.
