I read that in Professor Farnsworths voice. Man that looks awesome though.

[–]CODYsaurusREX//Mendicant_Bias// 18 points19 points ago

I did too. Goddamn that's powerful. Relevant to your comment.

[–]Pedro_Bayer 2 points3 points ago

I thought Jeremy Clarkson.

[–]AcidMind 42 points43 points ago

Im guessing this is just in multi than the campaign, seems to be a sort of custom skin for infected players

[–]Jkpepsi32FlaminCakeEata7 26 points27 points ago

If you're talking about their colors, I think that's just to distinguish between alpha zombies and normal zombies. Or maybe the color of your Spartan?

[–]AcidMind 11 points12 points ago

Oh alrite yeah that make sense, I also meant that I think this enemy wont show up in single player also.

[–]chainfire95 50 points51 points ago

343 has confirmed that there will be no flood in campaign.

[–]Ski_3143UNSC Astrological Warfare Officer 47 points48 points ago

On the other hand no one said anything about the flood in Halo CE either. WORST SURPRISE EVER.

Though also one of the best story twists I've ever experienced.

[–]TWOoneEIGHTHostile Derek 51 points52 points ago

doors explode, swarm of infection forms rush out

HOLY FUCKING SHIT WHAT ARE YOU?!?

spray and pray through rest of level

[–]Harhan 39 points40 points ago

Spray and pray

Fuck. That sums it up pretty accurately.

Edit: And accurately describes my Multiplayer experience as well.

[–]snakeybasher 3 points4 points ago

This also describes my sex life.

[–]RC_5213 18 points19 points ago

I was like 9 in 2001. That accurately summed up my entire response to the flood the first time I saw them.

[–]TheAurelian 5 points6 points ago

Fuck this. I'm not payed to star in Resident Evil.

[–]magicwizardbacon 5 points6 points ago

I was playing Halo with my dad back in 2003, when they busted through the door I don't think I have ever screamed at the Chief to back up faster. Spray and pray everywhere, I even bumped into the wall while backing up like some kind of cheesy movie.

[–]thatescapesme 14 points15 points ago

Both Reach and ODST the said they wouldnt have them and stuck to their word thank fully

[–]theotherspartanLord Sake 11 points12 points ago

Halo 4 is all about setting up the new threat to the galaxy/universe. They're not going to cheapen that narrative by trying the weave the flood back in somehow. That's not to say they won't show up in 5 or 6 if they're set on any of the remaining Halo rings, though.

[–]Purdaddy 5 points6 points ago

I had a dream last night that Halo 4 ended as some kind of reality tv show prank. After beating it and being mad I came on here to see all the rage and for some reason Reddit loved it. I have weird dreams.

[–]chainfire95 1 point2 points ago

I do believe the flood will be back in one of the next games from 343. They have a lot of roots in Halo lore. I think 343 could do some cool things with them with the next generation console graphics.

[–]ZigZagLagger 1 point2 points ago

definatly one of my favorite moments in gaming. Just when i thought i knew what halo was all about, you gt hit with the flood and everything i thought i knew suddenly had new means. god i love halo!

[–]CalmDownOverThere 0 points1 point ago

Perhaps a Spartan Ops mission will involve them.

[–]chainfire95 0 points1 point ago

I certainly hope not.

[–]CalmDownOverThere 0 points1 point ago

Why not? A single mission? I don't really see a problem here.

[–]chainfire95 0 points1 point ago

If the flood appear in "one mission" they will, and rightfully so , take over the storyline. You can't avoid the flood.

[–]CalmDownOverThere 0 points1 point ago

Perhaps, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

[–]NobleDovahkiinNStXavierO 0 points1 point ago

PRAISE THE SUN

[–]eriqable 8 points9 points ago

This is the infection gamemode in mp. Instead of energy sword you have tentacels!

[–]Crap_Sally 3 points4 points ago

I thought you put testicles. I was gonna say! Right! Because I need those. Flood balls...

[–]TheIrateGlaswegian 4 points5 points ago

Those walking Flood sacks that explode, unleashing their offspring everywhere, were christened testicles by my friends and I.

"TESTICLES TO YOUR RIGHT!"

[–]trevdaddy 1 point2 points ago

We called them booby traps. "Watch out! That booby trap is going to explode!"

[–]Crap_Sally 0 points1 point ago

It would be kinda cool if it took on a 3rd person approach where we controlled a swarm and you could attach to dead bodies OR attack a bunch of players. But I'd hate getting popped. It would be annoying if they just hovered over dead bodies to keep flood guys from jumping on them.

[–]SnoopyChicken 19 points20 points ago

I hope the HUD changes to some creepy zombie thing!

[–]sausageman23 22 points23 points ago

Or a flickery, broken one with different lighting. that would be cool.

[–]ProjectResurrection 0 points1 point ago

I think that would get annoying

[–]pharaocomplex 2 points3 points ago

Not sure about the hud, but you'll recieve "better vision" as a zombie, according to 343. I have no idea what that's supposed to mean thou ._.

[–]Choppa790 3 points4 points ago

wallhacks

[–]MikeVoldemort 11 points12 points ago

I hope there are several slightly different "Floody" player models, it would look silly if they were all exactly the same. There at least ought to be a female model too.

[–]Datfatboi 16 points17 points ago

Flood with boobs?

[–]Wombat_H 16 points17 points ago

Rule 34 is in effect.

[–]jenus13 7 points8 points ago

I shall fap to this

[–]pharaocomplex 0 points1 point ago

All of my cum

[–]E1Dav1dE1_David 7 points8 points ago

Lobster Arm!

[–]RoyalxMoon 14 points15 points ago

Hopefully the new flood skins are gametype specific. I'd still like to use the original style for Infection for gametypes like Fat Kid.

[–]Glitch0019 4 points5 points ago

Awww man I love that shit. Soooo many bullets/Soooo much health. Its epic.

[–]RoyalxMoon 1 point2 points ago

They're always the best on tight quarters style maps.

Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDoccaQuqmw (Apologies for not finding a better video)

[–]Last_PrecursorRagnarok of Sin 1 point2 points ago

Correct me if i'm wrong, but Flood is just a Sub-infection gametype, like Alpha zombies.

[–]E1Dav1dE1_David 7 points8 points ago

I don't think its possible to correct you, we don't know anything else about Infection. I think Flood is completely replacing infection.

[–]Brandothan 1 point2 points ago

As long as we can make it so the infected spartans can use weapons, I'm fine with this.

[–]sausageman23 0 points1 point ago

I'm guessing that 'Flood Mode' will apply these skins, but Infection will be a separate thing that keeps the skins the same (so you can tweak around and create your own modes)

[–]MekraniMekrani 0 points1 point ago

Hell yeah! No moreweird red or green spartans with energy sword as zombies! I am not the only one, who wanted to see mutated Spartans when first time launched Living Dead?

[–]pharaocomplex 0 points1 point ago

I'm pretty sure I read that they're changing the name from Infection, to Flood. Like they did with Wargames.

[–]umbroo 10 points11 points ago

Excuse me for being out of the loop, but what is the significance of this? Can you give us any context?

[–]EagleBurnEagleBurn 18 points19 points ago

New gametype called 'Flood', which seems to be Infection 2.0 basically. When infected, you now turn in to a Flood version of a Spartan. Those mutated arms are supposed to be very powerful and have a lunge to them.

Kind of all we know, all this info was released in scans of a French magazine last week.

[–]jWalkerFTW 4 points5 points ago

The idea is cool, but this doesn't look like the flood. They look like zombie brutes

[–]Glata 23 points24 points ago

Its the Flood I do believe! This is a screen shot from the new Flood Multiplayer Gamemode. Do not quote me on that.

[–]Jkpepsi32FlaminCakeEata7 14 points15 points ago

Correct this man is.

[–]autumn_kid 15 points16 points ago

Thanks Yoda.

[–]Legoandsprit 1 point2 points ago

Welcome you are!

[–]Choppa790 2 points3 points ago

Its the Flood I do believe! This is a screen shot from the new Flood Multiplayer Gamemode. Do not quote me on that.

You don't tell me what to do!

[–]kokazakokaza118 5 points6 points ago

how is flood ever a good thing

[–]They-Call-Me-TIM 2 points3 points ago

Flood

Good news

Choose one

No but for real Flood mode looks awesome. Im excited as hell

[–]ViridianPanther 2 points3 points ago

"...I am the Mouth of Sauron!"

[–]Lt_Large_Pyccki 1 point2 points ago

My Lord, Sauron the Great, bids thee welcome.

[–]7heSamaINsaneTACS 0 points1 point ago

What is the good news here...? We already knew about the Flood gametype...

[–]Jkpepsi32FlaminCakeEata7 3 points4 points ago

Did you enhance the original picture? Or did 343 release a clear version? Either way, fucking scary/awesome!

[–]PurpleDerp 17 points18 points ago

How on earth can someone enhance this to this?

This ain't CSI Miami

[–]brentd92 1 point2 points ago

[–]MarteeArtee 2 points3 points ago

They released a clear version, it's on their website.

[–]chainfire95 1 point2 points ago

Where did you get this??

[–]Spartan1590 6 points7 points ago

It was revealed in a french magazine a week ago, it's the new Infection mode and you get to use a claw just like the energy sword.

[–]LuisMcTweets 2 points3 points ago

In fact, looking at the stances it seems it might even share some of the energy sword's animations/properties.

[–]workingse7en11 4 points5 points ago

Infection style assassination animation?

[–]CODYsaurusREX//Mendicant_Bias// 5 points6 points ago

OMYGAWD.

[–]dileon67 3 points4 points ago

Very violent claw thru the back assasinations!

[–]chainfire95 -1 points0 points ago

Yes but that screenshot was mostly blurred.

[–]Superwaffle0616 0 points1 point ago

Looks awsome, cant wait to play

[–]Daniel_Hall -1 points0 points ago

Yeah. Having this awesome surprise mid-game would have been kinda cool.

[–]HotbutteryToast 0 points1 point ago

Good bye sleep.

[–]lincon127ThePerfectLink (Chris A HOLE) 1 point2 points ago

yes this is the new flood game type, I think it's supposed to be like infection. Though I have no idea if it's replacing it...

[–]magicwizardbacon 0 points1 point ago

does anyone else hope there might be slightly different models for some of the same flood? Like one might just have a bloody eyesocket instead of 2 intestine pipes or something? It would look kind of odd having them together and all being exactly the same.

[–]JustAteMyEntireSub 1 point2 points ago

I wonder if we will get the "Tubthumper" ability the Flood has in the other campaigns. To clarify "Tubthumping" is getting knocked down and getting back up again. Instead of respawning you just lay down for the 10 seconds and then get back up. No sitting in one spot for Un-infected. Also Flood first appearence equaled pants shitting terror for younger me as well.

[–]Well_Armed_Gorilla 1 point2 points ago

I dunno, that could lead to people simply camping dead bodies, and blowing them away as soon as they get back up.

Incidentally, "Tubthumping" is a fantastic name for that ability!

[–]JustAteMyEntireSub 1 point2 points ago

Yeah they would have to implement some sort of respawn invincibility, which is lame.

[–]sausageman23 0 points1 point ago

aaaaaaaaaaw yeah

[–]Bearmaster9013 1 point2 points ago

They look quiet happy. Someone must have just told a joke

[–]KarlHevacheck 0 points1 point ago

For a second i thought this was Amnesia! And for a second, i shit myself.

[–]vedfolnir 0 points1 point ago

The Dacia Sandero is here?

[–]Dewns 0 points1 point ago

At first, I thought they were elites.

[–]wrathwintersUltimateSubset 0 points1 point ago

why doesn't this have a spoiler tag?

[–]GuyWithFace 0 points1 point ago

Because they're only in multiplayer, not in the campaign. They're for the "new" Infection gametype.

[–]JoshwaarBeeJoswaar Bee 0 points1 point ago

WAIDAMINIT.

I thought Flood couldn't infect Spartans because of their bio-enhancements.

[–]Master_Chief_71 0 points1 point ago

if you read the books, Master Chief almost gets infected but Cortana saves him with an electric shock from the suit (Halo: The Flood).

[–]JoshwaarBeeJoswaar Bee 0 points1 point ago

Hrm.

I guess not then. It's just one of those things that I assumed was fact, but have no clue where I heard it.

I think it started out as an explanation as to why Sgt. Johnson couldn't be infected (Since he was a Spartan I).

[–]lilbroxc 0 points1 point ago

He couldn't get infected because he had borens syndrome, which only the spartan 1's had. Also I typed 'has' and then realized he died :'(

[–]JD397 1 point2 points ago

Lovin' their sinister smile

[–]aquaehlekaquaehlek 1 point2 points ago

Ooh, a clear image. They all look so happy. =D

One thing still bothers me, though... the infected models are just wearing the undersuit that all Spartans have. The only thing that really distinguishes individual players is their colour.

I would have loved a design similar to other Flood forms where the player's armour changes upon infection. If infected Spartans looked different depending on the armour they were wearing... that'd be great.

[–]LarsaminSKARROW 0 points1 point ago

Looks a little bit like gears of war.

[–]LeRageGuy222 1 point2 points ago

too bad they look awful

[–]ChaosbraeChaosBRAE 1 point2 points ago

I don't really care for what the flood look like this time around...

[–]Reaper505 1 point2 points ago

Is it just me or are they all giving a very "rapey" smile?

[–]mteo2 1 point2 points ago

Wouldn't be surprised if 343 includes some sort of Flood-Firefight mode for Halo 4. There hasn't been much talk of Firefight for Halo 4 and it's become one of the more popular multiplayer options since ODST.

[–]nixongosu 6 points7 points ago

343 has explicitly said there won't be firefight. Spartan ops is replacing it

[–]Dolphin_handjobs 0 points1 point ago

oh! do you think these could be skins for a new improved infection gametype? That would explain why they're infected spartans...

[–]Last_PrecursorRagnarok of Sin 0 points1 point ago

I came all over my computer...

[–]Amuter 2 points3 points ago

did they give you a blowjob or something?

[–]TheKeishTheKeish 808 0 points1 point ago

Why would they take elites out of the game then add this? I don't even like elites (or the flood) in multiplayer but it doesn't make sense to add one and remove the other. It seems like a lot of people were upset that they took elites out.

[–]A_Hard_GoodbyeA Hard Goodbye -1 points0 points ago

I love the new Spartans, you can actually tell them apart now.

I hated Reach's Spartans because they were all so bulky and boring, it didn't matter what armor you unlocked because everybody just looked the same on the battlefield.

I'm hoping Katanas make a return, and maybe a few other novelty items too.

[–]Spartancfos -5 points-4 points ago

I honestly hope they are lying about the flood not being in the main story, which they should also totally do because were only good in Halo 1 because it was a shock.

Also I don't know how the Forerunner Saga is going to end, but the flood have shaped that story and its the greatest plot to come out of Halo since the initial Fall of Reach.

I can happily ignore the events of Halo 3's woeful finale. Halo 3 ended for me when they stabbed the prophet.
