[–]thirdwavefresh 695 points696 points ago

I'm pretty sure his parents were trying.

[–]ekaceerf 365 points366 points ago

really hard

[–]LampLovesMe 94 points95 points ago

That's not a talent. That's just having a torso.

[–]LlongSchllong 35 points36 points ago

YOU'RE A TORSO.

[–]wintercast 31 points32 points ago

agreed. I dont think this kid found the clothing and toys and did this on his own.

His parents were trying very hard...

[–]Babymup 0 points1 point ago

I work in childcare and there is a little 2 year old boy who loves dr who, and brings his screwdriver every day. if he had the option to he would choose the clothes himself. He also makes tardis's out of blocks.

[–]wintercast 0 points1 point ago

this conversation seems like major deja vu. Anyway, i still think that his parents introduced him to Dr Who and encouraged his interest in it.

[–]anitabelle 13 points14 points ago

Yeah, of course the kid's not trying, it's the clothes that are awesome! Cute kid, misleading title.

[–]sprucenoose 7 points8 points ago

The sonic screwdriver is also a nice touch.

[–]MrE134 2 points3 points ago

A sonic screwdriver is always a nice touch.

[–]NiteShadeX2 1 point2 points ago

Not up the anus it isnt.

[–]Spraynyrd 4 points5 points ago

The fact that his parents try so much could mean he never will. But, this will all be covered on the future episode, "Parenting the Ponds."

[–]smooshinator -4 points-3 points ago

Came here to say this.

[–]classicduster 4 points5 points ago

That's what upvotes are for.

[–]redroseplague 199 points200 points ago

I'm sure he picked all those clothes out all by himself eh?

[–]Squalor- 102 points103 points ago

Well, you see, his parents did all the trying, so the title is technically correct.

[–]convoke 42 points43 points ago

Technically correct -- the best kind of correct.

[–]RedPhalcon 3 points4 points ago

Also applies to virginity.

[–]toekneebullard 2 points3 points ago

By accident too!

[–]Dew25 30 points31 points ago

Yeah he just woke up and fell into that suit.

[–]ipsumdolorsitamet 9 points10 points ago

You merely adopted your suit...he was born into it.

[–]FrenchGeek 92 points93 points ago

So, the next Doctor is a bit younger than his previous incarnations?

[–]retired_bowseat 72 points73 points ago

and still not ginger

[–]GenericPenName 1 point2 points ago

Or a woman.

[–]Osiris32 8 points9 points ago

He's trying a new outlook on the world. And he shall be played by....that weird little kid from The Middle....fuck, go faster, IMDB....there it is, Atticus Shaffer.

[–]starmartyr 0 points1 point ago

Usually The Doctor gets younger every time but every now and then he's replaced by an older actor. Matt Smith is the youngest person to ever play the character and it is not likely that they will replace him with a younger actor.

[–]M0t0x212 29 points30 points ago

but not this particular kid, this one had to try.

[–]BoonTobias 13 points14 points ago

[–]slow56k 0 points1 point ago

  1. YES

  2. You again!

[–]theseekerofbacon 28 points29 points ago

ALLONS-Y

[–]ChipsieTheCheapWhore 4 points5 points ago

I'm sad that this isn't the top comment.

[–]nameless88 0 points1 point ago

Basically...run.

[–]trampus1 10 points11 points ago

This is the suburban equivalent of giving your kid corn rows and Jordans.

[–]mattonreddit 41 points42 points ago

Are you my mummy?

[–]ZeroGSpaceCow 25 points26 points ago

How is that "without trying"? I've seen this kid posted like 20 times recently. His parents and/or handlers are sure as hell trying.

[–]photosensitiv 2 points3 points ago

handlers. rofl

[–]knylok 14 points15 points ago

Those regenerations are getting younger and younger...

[–]kukamunga 9 points10 points ago

another awesome set of Doctor Who costumes: http://i.imgur.com/J1ARK.jpg

[–]dangerous_beans 1 point2 points ago

Baby Doctors have been the best part of every convention I've been to.

[–]PraetorianXX 6 points7 points ago

I'd say most kids are awesome without trying. It's the growing that makes us forget how great being young can be.

[–]bw1870 0 points1 point ago

To be fair, kids have no earthly idea of how cool being older can be either.

[–]Gothika_47 96 points97 points ago

I dont get how this is awesome at all.

[–]RageDoll 46 points47 points ago

He's wearing David Tennants version of The Doctor, equipped with sonic screw driver and all.

And just to clarify. David Tennant is awesome. Doctor Who is awesome.

David Tennant as the Doctor. Was fucking awesome.

Therefore this kid? AWESOME.

[–]borring 5 points6 points ago

RIP 10th Doctor. :(

[–]duelpear 4 points5 points ago

Solid logic by my calculation.

[–]JangSaverem 49 points50 points ago

Dr. Who circlejerk.

[–]Ozzymandias 80 points81 points ago

Oh look, it's the call-everything-a-circlejerk circlejerk.

[–]jklfdshag 39 points40 points ago

Sharing an interest is what the kids like to call a circlejerk these days.

[–]genzahg 12 points13 points ago

It becomes a circlejerk when any minute reference to said interest is lauded as flawless, amazing, and awesome regardless of whether it actually is or not.

Just because I like Pokemon doesn't mean I'll drool over the shitty fan art someone crapped out onto a piece of paper, however many other people will. They are circlejerking.

EDIT: See RageDoll's comment at the beginning of this chain for an example.

[–]Switche 4 points5 points ago

I would agree in a lot of cases, but in its current state, and I doubt this has changed in 14 minutes, all the top comments are shitting on this post and OP's title.

I see 5 doctor references in the top maybe 15 top-level posts, and most of them are fairly tame. The rest are in response to those criticizing the post, which enjoy all the top placement in the thread currently.

Just saying, circlejerking can be negative, too, and that seems to be the case.

[–]JangSaverem 0 points1 point ago

And as we all know by now, any (like you said" Minute reference to Dr. Who EXPLODES in upvote no matter how uninteresting it is to the general public.

[–]jklfdshag -1 points0 points ago

More likely they're just being nice.

[–]weside73 2 points3 points ago

Is circle jerking such a bad thing?

[–]n42 1 point2 points ago

don't do it

[–]christhetwin 3 points4 points ago

I unsubscribed from r/doctorwho to escape this crap.

[–]C0mmun1ty 1 point2 points ago

/r/gallifrey - a Doctor Who subreddit that doesn't suck.

[–]christhetwin 0 points1 point ago

Sweet, I will check this out!

[–]JangSaverem -1 points0 points ago

cant escape. its in r/funny r/pics/ r/all r/gaming r/cosplay etc...no matter where you go a flood of Dr who fans thrive

[–]christhetwin -1 points0 points ago

I like Doctor Who, I really enjoy the show. But the stuff related to the show that seems to be popular on reddit really drives me up the wall.

[–]Nikittele 5 points6 points ago

Well the kid's dressed up as Doctor Who, that makes him cool in my book.

[–]SaltyBabe -5 points-4 points ago

It's not.

[–]TARDIS 4 points5 points ago

He was so young then...

[–]arniolaf 5 points6 points ago

When I was in preschool I, much like other children, had a few TV idols. Some of my classmates watched Sledge Hammer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dF6HIiWCh7k

But not many watched Matlock http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtWt8ENT_HM

The first time I wore my grey suit (and red tie) to school I was the coolest kid in class. After a few times I still thought I was the coolest crime fighting lawyer ever. But to the other children I had somehow become weird...

In hindsight it might have been the detective notebook...

[–]HotwaxNinjaPanther 3 points4 points ago

Some kids have parents with tons of money to throw at clothes and costumes they will grow out of in 4 months.

[–]dangerous_beans 6 points7 points ago

Plenty of parents without "tons of money" still buy their kids a Halloween costume every year. As long as the kid is having fun, who cares about how much work or expense did or didn't go into the costume?

[–]djetaine 6 points7 points ago

wtf? They make tiny trenchcoats? That is awesome

[–]golfer_ninja 0 points1 point ago

Dr. Who 12 is gonna be interesting...

[–]iodian 0 points1 point ago

why is he awesome? just because he has a suit on?

[–]vertigo42 6 points7 points ago

10th Doctors costume from doctor who.

[–]sureyouare 0 points1 point ago

This is how a lot of your actors/musicians/politicians start: being dressed/forced the part by their parents.

[–]Veothrosh 2 points3 points ago

Hey needs a fez. Fezzes are cool.

[–]jbj1290 4 points5 points ago

Listen every ones giving this kid shit or the poster shit because it was his parents who put him in the outfit. Its not just about the outfit. He's a little kid who is having an awesome time just being a kid. thats awesome enough. or at least it would be if not for the cynical nature this website. the fact that this kid is in an awesome outfit and looks damn fly in it only makes it more awesome.

[–]gkx 0 points1 point ago

Normal kid wearing a suit = awesome apparently.

[–]vertigo42 10 points11 points ago

Its not just a suit. Its the 10th doctor.

[–]Farabee 7 points8 points ago

Normal kid wearing a suit with a sonic screwdriver.

[–]cartwrightb91 -1 points0 points ago

He knows he is super cool in the picture on the right

[–]AgentxLeavening 1 point2 points ago

i think this should also go to /r/photoshopbattles

[–]BrewmasterSG 1 point2 points ago

As someone who has not seen Dr. Who, My first thought was 'The Untouchables'. Kid looks like he's going to go bust Al Capone with a .38 snub cap-gun to me.

[–]DaymanMaster0fKarate 1 point2 points ago

His parents tried very hard to dress him up like that.

[–]TheWac0Kid 0 points1 point ago

It's a costume. The kid probably wanted to look that way and his parents are awesome for doing it.

[–]DaymanMaster0fKarate -1 points0 points ago

I doubt a 4 year old told his parents "make me look like a private eye"

[–]TheWac0Kid 1 point2 points ago

He's dressed up like the Doctor. Which is a family friendly TV show. So yes I think he did ask to be dressed up that way.

[–]DaymanMaster0fKarate -1 points0 points ago

Good eye, dick. You're one hard-boiled sleuth to figure that one out!

[–]Mshur 0 points1 point ago

No, but he very well cld have asked his parents for a Doctor costume...

[–]DaymanMaster0fKarate -1 points0 points ago

Oh woe is me, all the Doctor Who nerds are coming out of the woodwork. Sorry I didn't recognize one of the 1000 different outfits of the doctor at first glance.

[–]Mshur -1 points0 points ago

Well, the sonic screwdriver is a giveaway.

[–]Sigh_No_More -1 points0 points ago

So... you make an incorrect assumption and then insult and belittle the person who politely told you what the picture is referring to?

[–]DaymanMaster0fKarate -1 points0 points ago

One more for the pile.

[–]slhamlet 0 points1 point ago

I would totally love to see that first photo 'shopped into assloads of cool action shots. Explosions! Gunfire! Aliens! Don't let us down, Reddit 'shoppers!

[–]BcottSrown 1 point2 points ago

this belongs in r/malefashionadvice. that kid is fresh to death

[–]TheWac0Kid 0 points1 point ago

It's a costume. He's the 10th Doctor. And yes, David Tennant dressed like a bau5 for that show.

[–]andrewrenn 1 point2 points ago

That's the next Doctor.

[–]GeorgeForemanGrillz 0 points1 point ago

The randomness of birthright (aka luck) made this kid awesome, yes?

[–]drbergzoid 1 point2 points ago

With a suit... No not trying at all.

[–]brixed 0 points1 point ago

Am I the only one who thought he looked like don Coreloan from the godfather?

[–]Mac_Anu 0 points1 point ago

Look out, he's going to kidnap himself, lock himself in a stormdrain and force his dad to cut off a finger.

[–]MoHo_HoMo 0 points1 point ago

he looks like david tenant with that jacket.

[–]whiskeytango55 0 points1 point ago

Baby Doc

[–]cackalackattack 0 points1 point ago

Get that baby a coaching job.

[–]swion 0 points1 point ago

Ah the sonic screwdriver!

[–]badwolf3618 0 points1 point ago

I'm adopting him. Today.

[–]Jaccington 0 points1 point ago

I'm sure he didn't fall into that suit. Someone's trying. HARD.

[–]thesearewords 1 point2 points ago

[–]cupcakedemon 0 points1 point ago

My day has been made now

[–]Jaceabj 0 points1 point ago

this looks like the prince of denmark

[–]JonathanUnicorn 0 points1 point ago

The kid is such a tryhard.

[–]Footlongcorndog 0 points1 point ago

And some just let their parents do all their trying for them

[–]Animystic 0 points1 point ago

Everyone with class knows you only button the top button of your suit

Sorry everybody, but this kid has no class.

[–]Schizophreud 0 points1 point ago

I swear, the actors they get to play "The Doctor" keep getting younger and younger.

[–]Bennywo1 0 points1 point ago

I see a little Max Payne :D

[–]Seruz 0 points1 point ago

This little kid got a mini $6000 suit? COME ON!!

[–]GitEmSteveDave 0 points1 point ago

Can we call him David TwoInch?

[–]WaveringStar 0 points1 point ago

I thought he was a young Deckard with a crap gun, then everyone else pointed out he was the Doctor and I felt bad.

[–]IThinkIThinkTooMuch 0 points1 point ago

I'm surprised Romney's kid is so much cuter than he is.

[–]UniqueNameGoddamnit 0 points1 point ago

Sneakers? Really? Come on parents...

[–]tempestjg 0 points1 point ago

That's a 10th Doctor costume. The 10th Doctor wore sneakers with his outfit.

[–]UniqueNameGoddamnit 0 points1 point ago

Are you sure about that? It could just as well be a mafia outfit, except the shoes.

[–]tempestjg 0 points1 point ago

Well he's holding a sonic screwdriver so I'm pretty sure.

[–]UniqueNameGoddamnit 0 points1 point ago

Valid point sir.

[–]tiddernoknurd 0 points1 point ago

Winston Churchill was a badass even as a kid.

[–]worsethanthou 0 points1 point ago

That baby is literally Orson Welles.

[–]JAEitler 0 points1 point ago

It's like a little Peter Lorre.

[–]gunstar69 0 points1 point ago

doctor who!

[–]Maddymazi 0 points1 point ago

I wasn't one of em.

[–]Davidking1975 0 points1 point ago

Matt Parkman's son from heroes, in his toddler stage

[–]omnilynx 0 points1 point ago

It's not hard to be awesome when you're The Doctor.

[–]cdcformatc 1 point2 points ago

Getting a suit made for a toddler + Getting a trenchcoat to match + The Sonic Screwdriver toy = Not trying now?

[–]gehsickah 0 points1 point ago

Haha been sitting in a long lecture the past few hours and saw this...thanks for making my day!

[–]redditcvc 0 points1 point ago

Leroy Jethro Gibbs at three.

[–]Kallexan 0 points1 point ago

ARE THOSE CONVERSE?

[–]tyaston 0 points1 point ago

Its the doctor in a couple hundred years, you know... because he gets younger each time he regenerates.

[–]Wragnaroq 0 points1 point ago

This is so freakin' adorable.

[–]freshyrocks 0 points1 point ago

Oddly enough Doctor Who has been getting pretty "mature audiences only" recently.

[–]jasonslfl 0 points1 point ago

Should post this in malefashionadvice and let them rip him apart.

[–]SuziGlass 0 points1 point ago

[–]FudgingHell 0 points1 point ago

Inspector! BLORGONNNSSS!

[–]ZOVA6sam 0 points1 point ago

Why is he dressed as Bruce Willis?

[–]gaflar 0 points1 point ago

These are screenshots from a diaper commercial, aren't they?

[–]phishroom 0 points1 point ago

RUNNNNN!!!

[–]LGC73 0 points1 point ago

THE GAME, MRS. HUDSON, IS ON!

[–]VegKat4 0 points1 point ago

This will likely be the only picture of somebody's kid I will ever upvote.

[–]nosource404 0 points1 point ago

This kid reminds me of Dr. Who younger years.

[–]n-some 0 points1 point ago

It helps when the parents drop a few bills on a fitted suit that he'll grow out of in a year.

[–]LiquidRevolverSS 0 points1 point ago

I feel bad for the people who never knew Daivd Tennant as the amazing Doctor Who.

[–]c01e 0 points1 point ago

hell yeah! i love dr who! upvote for good parenting

[–]lordkabab 0 points1 point ago

Well...

[–]Vee_Vee 0 points1 point ago

Poor kid's gonna be completely fucked when he's older.

[–]snailwithmonocle 1 point2 points ago

Why?

[–]turkeyinthecorn 2 points3 points ago

It all depends on how much longer his parents insist on dressing him in costumes.

[–]BlackLeatherRain 3 points4 points ago

Because such attire will cause girls to flock to him and throw panties at him.

[–]g3n3p4rm3s4n 2 points3 points ago

No, they tried, they tried really fucking hard.

and you failed, even harder.

[–]Butch__Coolidge -2 points-1 points ago

Stuffing your kid into a kid-sized shirt, tie, suit, overcoat, and Chuck Taylors is the opposite of not trying.

[–]Smugnoramus 0 points1 point ago

Can somebody please photoshop an explosion behind him?

[–]clashmo 0 points1 point ago

He may be awesome, but just as prone to getting beat up at school as any other sci-fi fan

[–]ZeroGSpaceCow 0 points1 point ago

How the fuck could a 4 year old be a sci-fi fan?

[–]lolpancakeslol 0 points1 point ago

When his parents force him to.

[–]dangerous_beans 3 points4 points ago

People make it sound like parents involving their children in activities they enjoy is unforgivable torture. One of my fondest memories of childhood was watching Saturday morning cartoons like Spider Man and X-Men with my dad long before I was old enough to really appreciate what was happening on screen. But I continued to enjoy those series after I aged, and to this day we continue to bond over our mutual love of such things. The whole action/fantasy/sci-fi genre is something I may have missed out on entirely if he hadn't shared it with me when I was young.

[–]TheWac0Kid 1 point2 points ago

When I was 4 I watched star wars, ghostbusters, and terminator over and over and over again. I loved those movies. I played "ghostbusters" all the time by running around with a Lincoln log as the gun on my proton pack. Theres every possibility that this kid loves Doctor Who and wanted to be the Doctor.

[–]Mshur 0 points1 point ago

The kid could easily be a fan of Dr. Who and other sci fi shows for children...

[–]ZeroGSpaceCow 0 points1 point ago

You just made every Doctor Who fan in the world scream out in rage for calling it a sci-fi show for children.

[–]Mshur 0 points1 point ago

Lol. Well the creators say its aimed at children.

[–]mattonreddit -1 points0 points ago

Source. Warning: May melt both your hearts.

[–]wiqi1 0 points1 point ago

cutest kid i've seen in a while!

[–]capitancaveman -3 points-2 points ago

downvoting for misleading title and obscure circlejerking

[–]ChrissMari 0 points1 point ago

Downvoting for explaination of downvoting

[–]kallexander -5 points-4 points ago

How is this little shit awesome?

[–]GonnUhReah -3 points-2 points ago

Charlie bit me?

[–]hometimrunner 0 points1 point ago

Had to CTRL+F to find it, but this kid looks JUST LIKE HIM!

[–]ink_addict -2 points-1 points ago

Mr. Presideeeeeenntttt geeettt ddooooooowwwwwnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!

[–]Bebopopotamus 0 points1 point ago

And some kids have parents with nice cameras.

[–]ignore_this_post -1 points0 points ago

I'm so fucking sick of Dr. Who

[–]I_hate_humans -4 points-3 points ago

Yeah, because he picked that shit out. Fuck you.

[–]StewieBanana -5 points-4 points ago

Kids are just awesome without trying

FTFY

[–]TheWac0Kid 0 points1 point ago

ITT: lots of basement dwelling, neckbearded virgins think they're better parents than this kid's awesome parents.
