Clarkson doesn't belong here, he fucking hates motorcyclists with a passion.

[–]Mirple 4 points5 points ago

Hammond would be a better fit.

I've always liked James the most. His piece with Gordon Ramsay is really funny.

"I'm disappointed in you Ramsay"

Ah sure man, here's a couple:

From the Vietnam Episode I believe

His OTT reaction to a motorcycle on his cool wall

An old Car VS Motorcycle race, hosted by Clarkson in the 90's

Clarkson caught out and about on a Vespa sorry for Daily Mail link

And finally, if you have time to read it, a 4 page article in 'Bike' magazine, explaining why he dislikes them

Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4

I could link you more, but I think you get the picture, Mr Clarkson really hates motorbikes. Rather strange, but personally, my value for Clarkson's opinion so low, it feels like effort to speak his name.

[–]mpgrocket 3 points4 points ago

He is a funny guy who has a great show, so another dude hates motorcycles/ist and your no longer capable of liking him? You must hate everyone then because EVERYONE hates us.....there are some dumb and stupid riders out there ruining our stereotype.

Yea, Clarkson's words should be taken with a grain of salt. The man uses hyperbole EVERYWHERE.

He's funny, and lovable on TV, but his opinions don't mean anything to me.

"I've always said to my children that if they buy a bike, I will burn it, and if they replace it with another one, I shall burn that too. Now, however, if they buy a bike I will completely understand — and then I'll burn it."

[–]Ventura 0 points1 point ago

I must hate everyone? Man all I did was link this guy some examples that he asked for of Clarkson hating on motorcyclists.

Loads of people in Britain dislike the guy, he's a neo conservative nut job, with well known reputation of not being able to take a joke in real life.

But Americans only see the funny guy acting a fool on top gear.

So no I don't hate everyone, it was a jab at him specifically.

[–]mpgrocket 0 points1 point ago

Fair enough, touche.

[–]Ventura 1 point2 points ago

Thanks for being an adult. (no sarcasm/patronising there, it's just genuinely nice to see)

This is one of the reasons i dislike motorcycle culture, even if i own one. A lot of elitism and self entitlement. Clarkson is a personal hero, a man doing what he has dreamed of doing as a kid, doing what everyone wishes they could do, all while being somewhat humble but ridiculous. But motorcyclists will dismiss him simply because they don't agree with one of his opinions, its like a bad political party.

[–]Ventura 0 points1 point ago

Like I said further down, you American's only see that funny lad on top gear.

You really don't know how bad Clarkson is, like he is Daily Mail bad. That was nothing at all to do with elitism, like, at all.

Clarkson came from money, his mother created Paddington bear I think, he maybe the funny dope on telly, but over here in Britain he really does have some fucking retarded neo-conservative views.

He has been known to not take public mocking very well, but he'll piss others off for a laugh though.

Clarkson specifically is an idiot, he's funny, his writers on top gear make him hilarious, but honestly, the guy is an unapologetically, politically incorrect relic from an era that just doesn't give a shit about what he says or does.

Try May or Hammond for hero worship if you are going to, because Clarkson is a royal pillock.

Not sure if the subtext is intentional, but I always read that when you get old/invested enough that you give up on your dreams, sell your motorcycle, stop travelling, etc. that that is a killer.

Obviously hitting a telephone pole isn't good either and that's the main comment though.

[–]_Vidar_2007 Ninja 650r 1 point2 points ago

I love when people say things like this in casual conversation, like they seem so witty. "It's not the fall that will kill you, it's the sudden stop at the bottom." Tee hee you are so clever. "It's not guns that kill you, its the bullet(s) that rip(s) through your flesh." I could go on...

[–]mpgrocket 0 points1 point ago

Just made my day hahaha

[–]HirudinaeVicis 0 points1 point ago

What kills is not looking where you want to go.

[–]TreesACrowd2010 Triumph Street Triple 1 point2 points ago

Yep, posted exactly this in a thread yesterday about a 120 mph

It's particularly true for cars, but there is one specific instance in motorcycling where it doesn't hold true: road rash. If you aren't wearing proper gear, sliding along the ground will turn you into hamburger meat.

[–]JohnsonLightning -4 points-3 points ago

Isn't that Jeremy Clarkson?

[–]victordavionCBR250R 2 points3 points ago

Yes, he also hates motorcycles.

[–]jbmass2011 Kawasaki ER-6n 0 points1 point ago

Correction, on Top Gear he makes it look like he hates motorcycles. It's a TV show, don't forget ;)

[–]Mirple 1 point2 points ago

It's also Jeremy clarkson, he has no qualms about sharing his opinion.

[–]jbmass2011 Kawasaki ER-6n 1 point2 points ago

Yes you're also right. But he probably exaggerates (good spelling?) the thing a bit.

[–]VertexSoup2012 Honda CBR 250R 1 point2 points ago

"change gear, change gear, change gear, check your mirrors, murder a prostitute, change gear, change gear, murder. Thats a lot of effort in a day."

-Clarkson on lorry drivers

[–]victordavionCBR250R 0 points1 point ago

That would be more accurate, ya. But I'm convinced ( after watching and reading other stuff he does ) that his "TV Personality" is just his personality.

But ya, I like you. Keeping me precise :)
