My roommate and I went to have sushi for dinner a couple of weeks ago. Afterwards we stopped at petsmart to grab some crickets for our pet mantis.

We decided to hang out with the kitties for a few minutes. When we started petting them, they started going crazy - nuzzling us, grabbing our hands. It took us about five minutes to realise that the maguro (tuna) that we had eaten at the sushi restaurant was driving them nuts.

tl;dr: I found my new favourite pastime last week. :)

Could also be tonkinese which is a Siamese and Burmese mix. The way to tell would to be to look at the legs, if they're the same color as the dark part of the face then its Siamese. If they look like socks that start about half way down the leg then its a tonk.

I definitely prefer tuna sashimi, it seems way cleaner and far more tender. Do you find large variance in the quality of salmon? because my experience with it hasn't been the best.

I do find a large variance is salmon. Actually, I've even had some pretty weird tuna too. While I do generally prefer tuna, specifically white tuna, I've had salmon that is of comparable enjoyment.

My girlfriend admittedly does not like salmon, for much the same reasons as others have stated (sticky/thick/strong flavor), but we've recently been to a few places where she said the salmon was good.

If I were to speculate, I'd say the reason salmon is generally not as good for me, is location. I live in San Diego, and afaik, salmon is not native to this area. Wikipedia indicates salmon live as far south as central California. If it's not nearby, then the travel time to the restaurant may lead to degradation of the meat quality. Again, speculation, but that would be a logical explanation for the variance. Some salmon might be fresher *shrug.

They didn't evolve to like fish. I don't remember what year but fisherman just started feeding random cats fish because it was convenient and cheap. Then boom: cats must live fish. Also cats have a very DULL sense of taste and fish has a very strong flavor which they get addicted to.

Why is shit like this in /r/pics? I know reddit got a unhealthy obssession with cats but come on, shit like this belongs in /r/aww or /r/funny. This subreddit is supposed to bring insightful pictures about the world and society. Instead there are a shitload of dumb submissions that are to unfunny for /r/funny or not cute enough for /r/aww.
