I stopped in the AT&T store on opening day and was surprised that there was virtually no lines. They had two iPhones on display, and people were shuffling over to them and looking at them for a few seconds. They even had a DJ blasting music. It was all sort of sad, and makes me wonder if this is the beginning of the end.

When I saw people queueing outside my local Apple store yesterday I just thought "How tragic" and moved along. I didnt need to critisize them or try and change their minds.

If you want to queue for an electronic device about 20% different from the last one, which will give Apple $500 in profit from your single purchase, which will be available freely without queues every other day, which noone will notice you have upgraded to or care, which has downgraded Maps, and which will be virtually redundant in 1 year anyway... be my guest...
