Wait, but for the camera to capture this event the light has to reflect off of the bottle and into the lens. Therefore, light outside the bottle must be moving faster than the light inside because we don't see the light coming towards the camera? So, is there something in the bottle causing the light to move more slowly? Or am I just wrong? I am the most confused.

You obviously don't understand science. All Coca-Cola bottles (which are frequently used in high-tech physics experiments) contain a magical refractory material inside that slows light down and makes us able to video tape it. Duh.

Video is recorded at a trillion frames per second. What you are seeing is a packet of photons travelling through the bottle. This video would probably explain it a bit better.

As far as I know, they used a special camera and computational physics n' shit parse together a compilation of shots so that the end results was like a video at one trillion FPS, though they didn't literally record the video that fast in the traditional sense.
