Note on Monster Hunter Portable 3rd: Since MHP3rd isn't available in the west, the only way we can play it is to import it or download it illegally. If you have chosen the latter option, avoid mentioning it on this reddit. However, acknowledging that such an iso/patch/method exists is unavoidable, so that's fine, just don't say whether or not you personally have done so. Also, if people ask for guides on how to hack a psp/download an iso, please link to another forum/site, instead of providing instructions yourself. Thanks!

I was originally quite annoyed that MH was steering towards Nintendo rather than Sony. I was thinking "I'm not going to get a 3DS just for ONE game, I'll have to miss this one out." And then I saw that there are TWO Monster Hunter titles heading to 3DS. I now have a 3DS XL.

This. I do not want to buy a New console for only 3-5 games I'd probably play (Bayoneta 2, Zombie-U, MH3GU, and If Zelda and Super Smash Brothers I'd get them)

My brother picked up a Vita as soon as he saw the MH3rd demo at E3. I just recently picked up a 3DS because my DSLite broke. Then this announcement comes up. He's pretty pissed.

I don't understand why some people get so upset, as someone who doesn't have a vita or a ps3, I'm happy but I don't get so upset over the reverse thing happening to other franchises I like (Little King's Story comes to mind)

It's because many of us bought vita's expecting monster hunter on them with the dual sticks. I just wish sony didn't mess things up with capcom.

Whatever console/handheld MH releases on I immediately buy it. But I won't buy the console on a rumour that "MH is coming to the west!" because it never does happen.

As someone who owns both a 3DS and PSV, I am a little disappointed.

I truly think it would be a better game on the PSV.

But I haven't enjoyed a MH game since Unite, so either way I am not expecting much from this game.

I had a terrible experience with Tri.

It was a pain to play with my friends, it wasnt just meeting in a room, eating a bunch of snacks and stabbing wyrvens, we all needed a tv and wii.

And I hated how they removed old monsters too. No kut-ku and a third of the monsters? What the hell?

I also hated the classic controller, and had continuous connectivity issues.

Sounds like a personal problem.

many monsters come back in 3U and it has about 3 times as many monsters as Tri.

The classic controller or the classic controller pro? there is a very different feel between those two controllers.

Also the connectivity issues is more on you than anyone else.
