It's my understanding that Paris is the location of the main European Hub. It's more efficient for the carrier to ship all freight from Scotland, ect, to Paris, where its sorted with all the other European freight, and then sent with all the rest of the Ireland packages. If your package is being held in Paris for longer than expected, I guess that is a customs issue, but I can't say for sure because I'm from 'Merica.

            FedEx have a shipping hub in Paris. Lots of stuff gets routed through there. I don't think they do shipping straight from Scotland to Ireland.

            Living up in Canada, I once ordered a parcel from the states that was delivered by FedEx. On it's way up, it jumped back and forth over the border 8 times, accumulating duty fees every time. I ended up paying $800 in taxes on a $500 purchase. FedEx is dicks.

            I can't speak for FedEx but I know that when I worked for an eBay retailer things like this were a result of human error on the part of the person putting the item into the Parcel Force mailing system. So there's that.

              i can imagine. i work preload for UPS. i don't know how it is over at fedex, but i do know i had my PC shipped with them. i wouldn't ship high value things like a computer through UPS because i've seen the way people's packages are treated at times. sometimes it's a legitimate accident, other times its just negligence

              Here's the rule. 2 inches of appropriate padding on all sides of the item, foam planking for heavier items, and then pay for insurance.

                  Eh. Target pays overtime for Labor Day (and it didn't count against payroll for some bizarre reason so you could have had 40 hours plus another 8 hours of overtime in that week).

                    How bad is it really? I've never even been out shopping on black friday but I assumed customers just ran around and did mostly their own thing in the store while trying to maul their way to that special deal. I know whenever you mention black friday to someone in retail they get a horrible look on their face.

                    The reason I ask is I am about to get a merchandising and pricing job at sears, just in time for the fun I guess lol.

                        Nine was the fighter, ten was the lover, and eleven is the friend. Past regenerations impact the character even though they're technically the same person. Nine was coming off of the time war where his entire species was killed. I feel like he portrayed that so amazingly. Matt Smith took a bit to grow on me, bit I think it's just Amy I'm not a huge fan of.

                        I like Amy so much that I watch the episodes alone, in a dark room, with no one else in the house. I kinda stopped watching Smith's series just because I couldn't like him, at all. No idea why, I just didn't see any of the endearing qualities that made nine or ten unique. Honestly, he seems like they hashed Smith's Doctor together out of what they thought were the best parts of Nine and Ten.

                        The way I see it: Eccelston was the perfect choice to bring back the Doctor. I loved the way he played the role and I think another season with him would have been great.

                        Tennant's uber-fandom allowed him to play the role the best it's ever been played. He knew the history and understood exactly where the Doctor would be in life. He was incredibly all-encompassing as to the many facets of the character.

                        Smith: Sometimes I think I'm the only person on reddit who likes Matt Smith... but I absolutely love his quirky, whimsical take on the Doctor. I like that he's relatable and fun. I think he's doing a very nice job.

                        So, erm, I like them all.

                        Me neither. Smith seems too merry and whimsical compared to the death and destruction happening around him. I feel like I can't take him seriously.

                        Watching Smith makes me feel like I'm seeing a fairy tale. With Tennant, I felt like he could be seen in both a silly whimsical light as well as a dark and serious one. If Smith tries that, I just look at his silly little bowtie and giggle a bit inside at the silly man's serious face.

                        Not to make a "this" comment, but I must. Maybe if I expand it will make it alright. I like the theory or consensus or whatever it is that is that the Doctor takes on parts from his past incarnations and changes his newest form to follow suit. E.G. Nine being fierce after bopping out of the Time War, Ten being a bit whimsical but smug after re-defeating the Daleks and having Rose to continue traveling with. And Eleven is clearly the total meltdown of having to let go of Rose and all of his closest friends.

                        In a way, it really feels appropriate that he treats all the death and destruction around him with such disregard. As a more sad sense, it's almost as though that's all he's waiting for anymore. For each adventure to be his last.

                        I'm pretty sure FedEx pays per delivery. ಠ_ಠ Assuming you're going to somehow get bombarded with all the preorders on the 21st(unlikely), and assuming you have a lot of residences on your route AND you work FedEx Home Delivery and not ground, and your route is full of Apple fans. Would it not have been an easy day of fairly straightforward deliveries for which you would make decent money? I'd imagine iPhone boxes don't take up too much room on the shelves of the box truck.

                        what are you so happy about? packages never stop coming. every single day is like the next. it doesn't matter that a shit ton of people ordered iphones. you work 8 hours a day, you deliver based on a quota that some optimization algorithm came up with. you do it for 8 hours and go home. packages never stop. i bet you dont even work for fedex.
