Not Philadelphia. I just watched a BBC documentary about crime in Philadelphia and they grabbed this guy, but he was able to eat it before they could get hold of it (crack I think?). The documentarian (Louis Theroux) said something like, "what happens to him now" and the cop said "nothing, he ate the evidence" then told the perp to go home and call it a night.

I have no idea if this is in Philadelphia, I just liked the story :)

That would be quite the experience. I was detained by police for half an hour on acid before they came to the conclusion that I was clean, just acting a little weird. I can't imagine what a whole sheet and actually going to jail would be like.

I ate 2 sheets(200 hits) of acid gel tabs in my late teens in response to a few people telling me it was impossible. I will be honest and say it was very fucking scary at times, and at one point I was laying under a truck in the parking lot verbally giving out my last will and testament to anyone that would listen, but it lasted as long as a normal trip, really not that much more intense than taking a couple 10-strips.

I don't encourage anyone to do this btw, I was a very regular acid tripper (easily 1000+ times), and I knew how to handle my shit when things got weird. The human brain is an incredible place and is very powerful. The whole trip was like having a lightbulb in your mouth, the big end, and trying your hardest not to break it, but having the insane urge to clamp your jaws shut just to relieve the pressure in your face and head for 1 second. Then multiply that times 10000 and throw in your greatest dreams and fears to be acted out by the people, places and things around you.

Meh, that was almost 15 years ago. Seems like another life.

e: tl;dr - I did a shitload of acid once. It was crazy.

Once "they" (whoever they are) gave an elephant a huge dose of LSD, to account for it's body weight, and a couple hours later, it convulsed and died. As far as I know that it is the only recorded death directly from the amount of LSD taken. However, there have been cases (although rare) when one hit has caused people to go completely insane. I guess that's an overdose. It just depends on who you are.

yes/no overdoes means it overloads and damages part of your body, so yes, but the part it damages is your brain, so you could permanently change your brain chemistry. You can also do this by just taking too much to close together over the course of your life like if you trip of a normal amount every other day for a few months.

The biggest problem I've read about prolonged LSD use is detachment from reality.

I'm sure "reality" means our social norms, and not some fucked up land or anything.

When I did it a few times a week for 3 weeks I really felt out of the loop with social norms. People are fucking weird when you're on LSD. The things we do that are considered normal. I just wanted to live in that mindset with everyone, ya know? the world would be so much better.

Basically you risk turning into a hippy haha

I just said fuck it and limited myself to twice a year. It's just a nice escape.

I was at a party back in college once and there was a guy handing out acid tabs. Cops showed up so we all bailed, but the drug dealer guy put THE WHOLE SHEET OF ACID UNDER HIS SHIRT. And as he was running he absorbed all that shit. Must have been several dozen hits all at once.
