That's actually not true! You should check out /r/yishan if you want to look at a window into his life. If you do a quick Google of him you can quickly find his real blog; one of his posts that really stuck to me was his story of why he left PayPal (all his coworkers started working for the money and not for the product). In all he's a pretty normal compsci guy!

I get how you feel, but you need to properly consider how Reddit works. It is a democracy. If something recieves enough upvotes to make it to the front page, then that means there are enough people out there that haven't seen it to warrant its place on the front page. If something ever gets to the stage where it has been seen by nearly everyone, it won't be upvoted anymore, and you'll never see it. I hate to think of the stuff I'd have missed if reposts were banned.

At any rate, very awesome of you to take to the criticism with compromise and understanding. Most people don't.

Content is just regurgitated, there should be a system in place that stops reposting of same content and context. If new users want to find good old posts they can use the awesome reddit search feature. It's stupid to just allow the same crap to front page just because the people who haven't seen it outweigh those who have.
