Anticon is a sub for all things relevant to disagreeing with current consumption practices.

Here are a few examples of practices that are safe to politely criticize here:

• Consumerism

• Planned Obsolescence

• Ineffeciency

• Marketing, Advertising, and Branding

• Unsustainable Practices

• Exploitation of People for Profit

• Conspicuous Consumption

• Intellectual Property Exploitation

• And many more.

You don't have to disagree with all of these practices to be welcome here. Polite discourse disagreeing with some people's idea of what anticonsumption is and means is always welcome.

Criticizing other users for their lifestyle is rude and won't be tolerated. This sort of behaviour stifles discussion. It makes people feel nervous about posting and chases away other opinions. Of course everyone could ALWAYS consume less. Change people's minds by role-modelling not hassling and nitpicking over their choices.
