About Photoshop Battles

A subreddit for people to use photo manipulation software to create new images.

Official weekly battles are held where entries are removed for the first 24-hours to give an opportunity for more detailed submissions.

Battle winners pick the photo for the next battle (only upvotes are counted) and all entrants are given subreddit flair.

Rules for Submissions:

I. No Requests or Questions

  • Requests, such as "Please photoshop me or my friend", can be posted to /r/picrequests.

  • Questions, such as "Where else could he be?", or "What else could she be sticking in her mouth?" are not permitted.

II. Titles

  • Your title must be descriptive. Please accurately describe the subject of the photo.

  • No cliches such as "this has potential", "lets see what you guys can do", or "make this epic".

III. Image content

  • Images must be at least 500x500 pixels.
  • No technically low-quality images. Focus, framing, lighting, etc. are important.
  • No links to facebook.
  • NSFW tags must be used generously.
  • No albums, submissions must be a single image. NEW RULE

Submissions that do not follow the rules will be subject to removal by the moderators.

If you notice a submission that violates the rules, please report it to the mods, and send us a message letting us know why it was reported.

Voting

  • Please vote based on quality of work. Lazy shops shouldn't win just because they made you laugh. You can still vote funny stuff (we can't control you) but keep in mind that people spend lots of time making some really good submissions and deserve as much recognition as the next guy.

  • Downvoting constructively, in threads, is recommended.

  • Please do not downvote submissions because they do not have obvious potential. An image that does not have an easy punchline may be the most creatively inspiring to others.

Please report inappropriate content to the mods.

Agreed. There are things to shop, but you really have to pick at the photo just to get something half decent. The upvotes for this photo are too damn high.

It's gone to shit a long time ago. At the top are usually shit shops which appears to have been done in paint. People upvote good ideas, instead of good shops.

This was suppose to be a place to practice your skill and see other people's skills, not to come up with the wittiest paint drawing.

It has 260+ upvotes because it's such a weird picture that in /r/funny, /r/wtf, /r/pics, or a number of other subreddits it would be upvoted like crazy. Many people probably didn't see what sub it was in, or they would like shops to be done of it.

More mods is exactly what subreddits do not need. Im sick of people leaning on mods to adjudicate what their personal opinions are for a subreddit. Thats what voting is for guy. Maybe you should try it.

There are plenty of attempts now that, you know, people have actually had time to make a few entries. Maybe if you understood anything about creativity or this subreddit or photoshop you would know that its not an instant process. so please shut the fuck up, people like you ruin reddit.

There is not a battle too small or challenge too big for a true photoshopper, show us any picture and we will give you our best shot. It doesn't matter if the content is too boring or it is made of 4 pixels. Sometimes creativity shows the most interesting results with very simple things.

I suggested it as a possibility. Aspergers is what springs to mind, due to the obvious obsessive nature they have toward their cartoon pillows. Isn't Aspergers considered autism?

Yes, it is; it's what I have.

People with Asperger's typically develop an obsession in an interest or hobby. I would guess people with autism would actually be less likely to engage in this sort of behaviour because of our general lack of interest with emotional attachment, although obviously I can't speak for every autistic person (guess what, we're all different!).

Two friends of mine have aspergers. They are so completely different. One acts like the dudes in the pic, and he is very into furries. The other is in school to be a music teacher and is really shy. Music is definitely his interest of choice. The musical friend is way more approachable an easier to be friends with. The first guy comes off as a dick, but he can be nice. Never knew either of them were autistic until someone told me.
