I don't know if you could call it a motto, but if there's one thing I learned from this show it's this: If you have a problem, dissolve it in acid.

[–]bitcheslovedroids 40 points41 points ago

Be sure to use the proper plastic

[–]hadjisaurus 17 points18 points ago

Will a bathtub suffice?

[–]Gemini4t 15 points16 points ago

The look Walter gives Jesse when he says he used the bathtub is one of the best "you fucking moron" faces I've ever seen.

[–]mr-peabody 4 points5 points ago

Ranks up there with Red Forman

[–]mcdek843[S] 3 points4 points ago

Even Red has his moments.

[–]darkjohnnyboy/-.-\ reasonably 2 points3 points ago

[–]I_Can_Not_Escape 2 points3 points ago

Does anyone have a picture of this?

[–]kingac 1 point2 points ago

I hate that the top comment was already a top comment in another thread

[–]Lampmonster1 64 points65 points ago

Mine is "Shut the fuck up and let me die in peace."

[–]Ipanman92A Robot? 33 points34 points ago

Do you do a lot of dying?

[–]filipotheadpollos cavalry 6 points7 points ago

23 years so far

[–]Shoola 21 points22 points ago

We're all dying really slowly.

[–]I_Can_Not_Escape -2 points-1 points ago

No. Death isn't something that happens in life. Death will never happen in your life time. You aren't in the processing of dying, you live and live and live and then POW POW.

[–]Shoola -4 points-3 points ago

Dying means that you are in the process of becoming dead. Death, as in cometkbg the process of dying, occurs after life. Dying can happen while you are alive.

Regardless, you're just arguing semantics here.

[–]I_Can_Not_Escape -1 points0 points ago

Reread my comment.

[–]Shoola 0 points1 point ago

The end result is always the same: death. Even if you don't die in a car accident, your body is still aging and slowly failing you.

I don't want to debate with you because this seems like a waste of my time.

[–]I_Can_Not_Escape -2 points-1 points ago

If that were true then birth wouldn't happen. You age up not down. There's a reason the numbers count up not down.

[–]Shoola -2 points-1 points ago

Sure, but your body slowly becomes less productive at producing new cells for you in a healthy way. When your body can't renew itself by replacing old dead or dying cells with healthy new ones, you die. Sure, you're not becoming unborn, but you're still moving towards becoming non-existent again.

We're arguing something that literally has no use to me, so I'm stopping here.

[–]I_Can_Not_Escape -2 points-1 points ago

But you're arguing the point that death happens in life. That's like saying that you're two places at once.

[–]Lampmonster1 0 points1 point ago

As much as anyone.

[–]TatersWithFranch"Tagging trees is better than chasing monsters." 15 points16 points ago

Picture Mike wearing a tie dye shirt. "Shut the fuck up and let me dye in peace."

[–]ForTheUsers 8 points9 points ago

Shit son, make a picture of that and post it before anyone steals your sweet karma!

[–]ICanBeAnyone 1 point2 points ago

That really got to me. I started to hate Walter in season four already, but this was when I knew he'd die or I'd be irate.

[–]l0ve2h8urbssmoking marijuana, eating Cheetos and masturbating. -2 points-1 points ago

of course hell die, he has terminal cancer. hes on borrowed time as is. how do you think the show is going to conclude? it isnt going to be him miraculously cured of cancer. this isnt reality tv, yo/bitch.

[–]invisiblelemur88 -1 points0 points ago

You need to watch more of the show.

[–]muzeec 24 points25 points ago

[–]etherspin 0 points1 point ago

walt is a really inspirational guy, practically a life coach at this point /s

[–]muzeec 0 points1 point ago

Did you use photoshop to create that? I want to make my own but I don't know which software to use.

[–]crookrecords 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, same here. I'm too lazy to change it though, and i usually don't just stare at my desktop so it doesn't get me too much.

[–]dontforgettotip 12 points13 points ago

"The hell with your cancer" "Live life on your own terms"

[–]Tenauri...So there's that 9 points10 points ago

Quotes like this are what make this show amazing. Walt is one of the most despicable, horrifying, frightening man I can imagine, and yet in some ways I can't help but want to be more like him.

[–]Will_Im_NotSmoking Marijuana, eating Cheese Doodles, and masturbating 3 points4 points ago

As terrible a person as he is, he's very successful at what he does. He's extremely motivated and intelligent, and he nearly always gets what he wants.

[–]ICanBeAnyone 3 points4 points ago

At a price. Bits and pieces came off him throughout the whole show.

[–]Metamorphism[!] 23 points24 points ago

[–]Modernpower 3 points4 points ago

Who said this?

[–]Metamorphism[!] 2 points3 points ago

I found it on /r/GetMotivated about a year ago.. not sure who said it...

[–]pursuitoffappyness 11 points12 points ago

I uploaded this just for you!

[–]OBEYtheskyDo you really want to live in a world without Coke? 0 points1 point ago

That's pretty cool, I didn't construe the quote that way at first but it clearly applies!

[–]pursuitoffappyness 0 points1 point ago

For the record I didn't create the image, I pulled it off /r/quotesporn when it was posted there some time ago.

[–]Modernpower 0 points1 point ago

Oh thanks awesome quote!!

[–]eninety2 1 point2 points ago

I've has this quote on my mind since yesterday.

[–]agentmage2012 12 points13 points ago

"No more half measures."

[–]RevengeWalrus 11 points12 points ago

I actually turned this into an inner mantra after that episode came out. Every time I had to make a decision of any significance, I just heard Mikes voice in my head, saying "No more half measures" in that tired, frustrated voice.

Pretty good results, all things considered. Mike makes a good surrogate TV Dad.

[–]Phunk131 6 points7 points ago

So, do you threaten people a lot now, too?

[–]RevengeWalrus 10 points11 points ago

Oh yeah, consistently. Like I said, pretty good results.

[–]HairlessSasquatch 1 point2 points ago

His name is revenge walrus.. I think it implies that he most certainly does

[–]QueueNXcoffee, you bet 1 point2 points ago

Every day before b-b-b-breakfast.

[–]grimebox 5 points6 points ago

I'm going to post this in /r/GetMotivated as well

[–]amosbr 1 point2 points ago

There were many inspirational quotes such as this one in the show, the problem is that they are all coming from a meth cook.

[–]HydroCabronTight tight tight! 5 points6 points ago

Does Walt actually follow this motto?

He has never confronted the one thing in his life which is worse than fear, which is himself, and he is his own worst enemy, and does he refuse to confront his own self-destructive impulses because of some basic fear?

Lying to everyone, poisoning and killing kids: how is this not a man ruled by fear of something? If success in the meth business is all that matters, is fear behind the choices that lead there? If you're too afraid of the world's judgment to take money from Gretchen and Eliot because of fear of social shame, then aren't you just a coward?

[–]ICanBeAnyone 5 points6 points ago

I wanted to say "I don't think it's fear, but ego at work here." but thinking about it, he doesn't really do this for himself, he wants people to see him in a certain way, and he positively goes off the rails whenever they don't. That is a form of fear alright. A confident man wouldn't do what he does.

[–]hardman52 1 point2 points ago

That's ego. Ego is motivated by fear of extinction. The ego is not your friend; it will end up killing you for its own purposes.

[–]ICanBeAnyone 0 points1 point ago

I tried to picture that and now my brain is broken. Expect to hear from my lawyer. Saul? Get your ass back in here. We're done we I say we're done!

[–]TuckFrancis 3 points4 points ago

I was just about to say this. This comes from the time when Walt doesn't understand his place either in his new found career nor in his public life. Walt thinks that what's been the biggest burdens of his life are his cancer and Gus, when really it's been himself the whole time. He thinks that his loss of self-control is taking control, when really it's giving up even more.

[–]Number1AbeLincolnFan 2 points3 points ago

It's just a rephrasing of the old FDR quote, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

[–]Tyle325Growth, Decay, Transformation 2 points3 points ago

"If You Just Do Stuff And Nothing Happens, What's The Point, What's It All Mean?"

[–]UpstateDavid 2 points3 points ago

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

[–]mcdek843[S] 0 points1 point ago

La peur est une petite mort.

[–]HarkonnenThug 1 point2 points ago

Troof

[–]Foghornerick 2 points3 points ago

I'm now going to get this quote tattooed on my back.

[–]xvsero 8 points9 points ago

I don't believe you so I will stalk you until you do it.

[–]Foochoski 1 point2 points ago

OP will surely deliver

[–]mcdek843[S] 0 points1 point ago

that would be so badass.

[–]kykylele 0 points1 point ago

Was re-watching the episodes the past few weeks and this quote definitely struck me the hardest. Such great delivery and so true.

[–]sally_hustle 0 points1 point ago

does anyone have a link to watch him say this?

[–]mcdek843[S] 5 points6 points ago

[–]sally_hustle 1 point2 points ago

thank you!

[–]friedsushi87 0 points1 point ago

Mine is ~ "living the dream"

[–]ElbardoI am the one who knocks. 1 point2 points ago

In which episode was this quote? I have a love for inspirational Walter White quotes bordering on the erotic, but have somehow missed this one.

[–]heisengirlRidiculous! Apply Yourself! 0 points1 point ago

2.8, Better Call Saul.

[–]Loafie 0 points1 point ago

"My fear is my substance, and probably the best part of me." - Franz Kafka

[–]porkchop313Tight tight tight! 0 points1 point ago

Which episode is this from again?

[–]jigglesv 0 points1 point ago

Is there a meaning behind the "te" and the "h" being boxed?

[–]youngharris77 1 point2 points ago

They are elements on the periodic table. They use them in the credits for every episode.

[–]ChimpBottle 1 point2 points ago

Fear cuts deeper than swords

[–]FatGirlRodeo -1 points0 points ago

Why not use the full width of the board?

[–]invisiblelemur88 0 points1 point ago

So the teacher has room to write for class.

Edit: OP says in another comment that it's his room. Assumption fail.

[–]mcdek843[S] 0 points1 point ago

I'm writing a novel and need the rest of the board for novel related stuff. And OP's a she. Another Assumption fail.

[–]210zach -1 points0 points ago

Uh you really think Walter White is the go-to motto man for you?

[–]mcdek843[S] 0 points1 point ago

The past year has been really rough for me. I found myself scared to do anything because of crippling anxiety. I really identified with Hank, outgoing and ambitious, but once knocked down, its really hard to get back up. And when I heard Walter say this to him, I felt like he was talking to me. Walter White is by no means a role model for me, but those words were exactly what I needed to hear to get back to being my adventurous self.

[–]Sladekious 1 point2 points ago

My fave is have fun, don't be a dick

[–]eninety2 0 points1 point ago

Which episode does he say this?

[–]SaturdaysKids 0 points1 point ago

I really hate how the handwriting for "teeth" changes to some goofy shit

[–]Monkeychimp 0 points1 point ago

I spent far too long trying to figure out what 'REALEMENY' was.

[–]steve626 0 points1 point ago

Is this at tractor brewing in Nob Hill?

[–]mcdek843[S] 1 point2 points ago

Nope, just my bedroom wall that I painted with chalkboard paint.

[–]steve626 1 point2 points ago

cool. There's a brewery here in Albuquerque that that wall reminded me of for some reason.

[–]lenbot 1 point2 points ago

Pretty much a longer version of, "fear is the mind-killer."

[–]UpstateDavid 1 point2 points ago

Darn, just posted the Litany Agains Fear in the comments. Exactly what I thought upon seeing this...

[–]twelve112 0 points1 point ago

how come you wrote the E's funny for Teeth?
