when your back is better, you have my permission to walk

[–]theoldcrow 10 points11 points ago

I always assumed Bane held this position.

[–]DG43 6 points7 points ago

It's simple, we kill the back-pain

[–]Mr_Patrick_Star 0 points1 point ago

Why don't we just take the back pain and push it somewhere else!

[–]Piratiko 34 points35 points ago

As if I needed any more reason not to take chiropractors seriously.

[–]JoxerTheMighty 8 points9 points ago

"All of these places always put these stupid puns in their name, like 'Back in Business.'"

"Not my place, it's called The Lumbar Yard."

[–]brown_man_bob 2 points3 points ago

Swerve.

[–]Yossarian33 0 points1 point ago

I can't believe how many people think Chiropractics is a branch of medicine. These are modern-day witch doctors.

[–]MAD_JIHAD -3 points-2 points ago

Lol @ Chiropractorderps down voting you.

[–]Nuclear_Turnip -2 points-1 points ago

Ugh, redditors ignorance of what real chiropractors actually do irritates me to no end.

There are two distinct breeds of chiropractor:

  • The "traditional" pseudo-scientific metaphysical bullshitters who base their treatment off of a magnet-loving crazy man from the early 1900's. This is apparently what a very vocal group of redditors seem to think chiropractic is about?

  • The modern, science-based chiropractors that spent 4 years in undergrad and then another 4 in a graduate program studying human physiology. Grad programs don't teach some far-out hippy science; they teach anatomy, biomechanics, and musculoskeletal physiology along with joint and spinal manipulation techniques. These are tried and true methods that have been proven effective in clinical settings.

Lastly, virtually all of a chiropractors income comes from insurance companies. These companies would obviously not be paying for this treatment if it was a load of horseshit that didn't work.

Have any of you actually been to a real chiropractor?!

[–]Yossarian33 1 point2 points ago

I understand where you're coming from. However, spinal manipulation just doesn't work. The best I've seen in studies is results comparable to massage therapy for some low back pain but that's it.

Losing weight and doing some strengthening exercises would far outweigh any effects a chiropractor has.

And your insurance company line is a joke. What? Insurance companies are all-wise and all-knowing, now?

[–]Nuclear_Turnip 0 points1 point ago

Ya totally, that must be why chiropractic is included in the socialized healthcare in the UK, because it doesn't work....
Furthermore, there are plenty of studies that say otherwise. When I'm on an actual computer ill find some sources for you. And if you want me to take your claims seriously show me some credible sources that say what your claiming. Lastly, I know firsthand what a chiropractor can do. I frequently get treatments and they do wonders for my neck and hips. Would strength training and stretching help as well? Of course, and often chiropractors prescribe training programs in conjunction with treatment.

[–]Nuclear_Turnip 0 points1 point ago

And my point about the insurance companies - you think the greediest industry in the world is gonna pay for a treatment that doesn't work? Its hard enough to get them to actually pay for standard healthcare, why in the hell would they pay for something that as you have claimed is bs?

[–]ASquishyJollyRancher 3 points4 points ago

It's always amazing to me how many people swear by their chiropractors when even the American Medical Association basically considers them quacks. There's a reason they're not medical doctors, people!

[–]Ididerus 0 points1 point ago

They're over-priced massage therapists, some people get their stress release by going to a doctor and getting "fixed" in the warm embrace of science. Plus insurance covers it.

[–]stniesen -2 points-1 points ago

Clearly there's some butthurt chiropractors in here. While I don't consider them at the same hilariously-stupid level of psychics, I could never, ever, advocate for any chiropractor. There's no medical science behind them.

[–]BruceWillisHasACat 0 points1 point ago

They should operate more like surgeons - "Your back hurts? Let's just cut that shit out without any regard to how it's going to affect the rest of your spine in the future. See you in a couple years."

They have as much medical science backing them as flu vaccines do. Let's hear some complaints about the billions spent on those.

[–]Atheist_are_a_theory -4 points-3 points ago

I don't understand. A lot of doctors still send you to them for back pain. Quack science that doctors will still support.

[–]greenbeardoftheents 3 points4 points ago

Reminds me of Seinfeld. Assman.

[–]FLYyourFREAKflag 0 points1 point ago

I'm totally a backman. Can't get me enough of those sexy backs.

[–]Simonzi 0 points1 point ago

Dr. Cosmo Kramer, Proctology.

[–]ogotrice 2 points3 points ago

The backwards man, the backwards man. I can walk backwards fast as you can.

[–]Sariel007 0 points1 point ago

Backwards man, Backwards man Doing the things a Backwards man can What's he like? It's not important Backwards man.

[–]AhhhClem 5 points6 points ago

Shouldn't it be called the Quackmobile?

[–]zeu5 1 point2 points ago

I have a friend whose last name is Batman, and her chiropractic business is called Batman Chiropractic. She uses a slightly modified Batman logo, and has it laser-etched into her business phone's case. It's pretty awesome.

[–]LaLaLaLaLaLaBamba -2 points-1 points ago

which scientologist church does she attend?

[–]terriblecomic 1 point2 points ago

chiropractors practice pseudoscience

[–]DutchHeadshot69 0 points1 point ago

...but doesnt need right now.

[–]galadiel 1 point2 points ago

im sure this is wrong, but does anyone else seen an anus taking a dump in that logo? or am i severely damaged by the internet?

[–]frozenkiller7 0 points1 point ago

as long as Bane is braking batman's back, he will be needed

[–]xElizabethAnn 1 point2 points ago

When I broke both bones in my forearm, my surgeon owned a practice called Gotham City Orthopedics. He had pictures of Batman and Gotham City all over the walls.

I must say, he did an amazing job mending my arm. :)

[–]SilentHipster 0 points1 point ago

Holy Spinal Batman!

[–]Schobbo -1 points0 points ago

Smart advertising.

[–]a-manza 0 points1 point ago

I was wondering what would break first Mr. Wayne, your spirit or your body.

[–]TheBrohemian 0 points1 point ago

The cure for a broken back according to Batman - Hold onto a rope. Take two wet paper towels and call your doctor in the morning.

[–]abramsa -2 points-1 points ago

Get your chiropractor roommate in jail to punch your vertebrae back into place

[–]Siejj 1 point2 points ago

The domain for the website (.cc) is intended for websites attached to the Cocos Islands, which are near Australia. Just in case you felt compelled to look it up like i did.

[–]Iced_TeaFTW 1 point2 points ago

Which is weird, because I did check out their website and it's a gang of Chiropractors offices in Kentucky, Florida and some other ones, about 9 all in total iirc.

[–]Siejj 1 point2 points ago

Yeah the wikipedia points out that, though it was intended for the Cocos Islands, people just used it for random shit. Even funnier is the people who use the domain name because their club or organization have the initials (cc) (cycling club, Catholic Church, etc).

Maybe the "CC" is for "Chiropractor's Collective"

[–]Stoy 0 points1 point ago

.cc -.-

[–]npech001 0 points1 point ago

CRACK, stay like this, until you stand.

[–]hdizzydawg 1 point2 points ago

read that first as BLACKMOBILE

[–]foodgoesinryan 0 points1 point ago

But not the one it's ready for.

[–]DinaDinaDinaBatman 0 points1 point ago

[–]irishgeologist 0 points1 point ago

This is actually a villain. A pseudo-scientific hokum dangerous villain.

[–]TheClayroo 1 point2 points ago

"We're real doctors!" -every chiropractor.
