This way after my first LEGO phase. Yeah I'm old.

It looks awesome.

[–]TheHessPC 4 points5 points ago

The castle at the top of the hill was my first "big" Lego set. Remember the Christmas I got it, damn was I a happy chappy :)

[–]crazymunch 3 points4 points ago

I had a whole bunch of those sets! They were awesome!

[–]chipnick87PC 0 points1 point ago

...excuse me while I build a castle.

[–]Svarazics 1 point2 points ago

Unfortunatly for me Lego was bland when I was a kid. The "D&D" type Legos came out when I was a teen and that's when I started buying them. Today I have a chest full of those type Legos. I started to collect the newer ones and the LoTR sets too. My favorite of all the older midieval sets are the "Robin Hood" ones. They are awesome but I don't have them all so I keep an eye out for garage sales and eBay sellers selling them. Skyrim Legos would be great. We can only hope they make them one day!

[–]braomiusPC 18 points19 points ago

Why do legos have to cost so much? I think they would make a lot more money by selling them cheaper, I'd take it up as a hobby.

[–]mikekearnPC 33 points34 points ago

It's the extremely high quality plastic and molding that goes into making the parts. You know how as a kid your LEGO bricks were practically indestructible? And how you can sometimes find LEGO sets that are decades old and still look new? That's why they're so freaking expensive.

So much better than megabloks too.

[–]SMZ72PC 14 points15 points ago

Seriously. Fuck Mega Blocks.

[–]moparornocar 10 points11 points ago

I always got mega blocks. My fingers were always cut up and sore. Fuck those things. Now that im grown up, I buy myself Legos every now and then.

[–]pig_master 7 points8 points ago

My friends mom would buy me mega blocks for my birthday. I would get the the blocks mixed in with my general lego collection. It was terrible.

[–]AMorriiPC 1 point2 points ago

When I was 7 my mom bought me some mega blocks. She threw them in with my tub of legos one day while she was cleaning my room. That was the last I spoke to her.

[–]ZeekySantosXBOX 1 point2 points ago

I inherited my lego from my older brother, who had a big tub of the things. There were a few megabloks in the damned thing. Every now and again I'd build something and for some reason a piece just wouldn't stay held like all the rest of them, and sure enough it'd be a megablok.

[–]braomiusPC 0 points1 point ago

I'd spend more time trying to get megabloks unstuck than I did making things.

[–]CheeseforSheogorathXBOX 6 points7 points ago

I couldn't find the scene on Youtube, but Family Guy is relevant.

Peter: You got Legos? Aw, sweet! Lois only buys me Mega Bloks. Lois: They're the same thing, Peter. Peter: You know what, Lois? They are not the same thing. And the sooner you get that through your thick skull, the sooner we can get this marriage back on track.

[–]DesmodiXBOX -2 points-1 points ago

Awww, you beat me to it.

[–]DFSniperflair[!] 0 points1 point ago

they're generally only $.10 a piece, + a little more for minifigures and then some extra for licensing.

[–]KeybladeSpiritPC 3 points4 points ago

And all that comes out to a mere $5.00 per brick.

[–]FloppY_PC 1 point2 points ago

Quality and Quality control

[–]TheAmishSpaceCadet 6 points7 points ago

Fucking reposter. I thought he was banned from this subreddit

[–]TheHessPC 8 points9 points ago

I was going to walk across the room for a closer look, but then I took a Lego brick to the foot.

[–]RubenTMoonPS3 6 points7 points ago

Aargh! Downvote the spambot to oblivion! STOP FEEDING IT OR IT WILL LAY EGGS

[–]jimmypopnl 4 points5 points ago

I'm gonna call this as being set in Dawnstar

[–]MechanizedJesus 4 points5 points ago

Fuck Dawnstar and their eternal dragon plague

[–]DesmodiXBOX 1 point2 points ago

Welcome to the College of Winterhold! We're great for mastering the many magic schools and harvesting dragon bones and scales!

[–]Dem0n5 1 point2 points ago

My batman action figures would have fought so many dragons if I had this as a kid.

[–]CSec064 4 points5 points ago

FUS LE GO!

[–]cody_au 0 points1 point ago

I like it, but I wouldn't buy it. It would be fun to assemble (I suppose), but then it would just sit on the shelf as an expensive dust-gatherer, and if I had things on display on a shelf (I don't) it would probably be what is really important to me and not just something from a game I played and put together by following instructions.

[–]ExodusRexflair 1 point2 points ago

I'd build it.

[–]Sophie_Rach 0 points1 point ago

This is incredible!

[–]jhbee 1 point2 points ago

Shut up and take my gold.

[–]JJaysNotHome 0 points1 point ago

I'd buy it too, if they didnt make the price like minecraft Lego, £30 !

[–]sladay93 0 points1 point ago

Is this on CUUSOO?

[–]mechchic84PS3 0 points1 point ago

Shut up take my money

[–]theicecapsaremeltingPC 0 points1 point ago

How much would you WPAYFor it?

[–]Taylorhill89 0 points1 point ago

Those flat pieces used for the multi-level ground must be SO HARD TO GET APART. I cringe thinking about how quickly my nails would get destroyed.

[–]SgtChuckle 0 points1 point ago

Gimme Dragonsreach, I'd drop a grand on that shit.

[–]tdbbode 0 points1 point ago

I used to be an adventurer. Then i took a brick to the knee.. :D

[–]Bazookatier 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, I'd buy it...When Lego realizes that their sets are all far too overpriced. $459.99 for a Death Star is complete bullshit. How am I supposed to afford child support and live out my childhood?

Ah, well. I guess it's back to Skyrim for me. At least $20 can still get me hours of jaw-dropping entertainment instead of a fucking dirt bike transporter.

[–]DeolrinPC 6 points7 points ago

...Well to be fair, that IS a fucking Death Star.

[–]KeybladeSpiritPC 6 points7 points ago

Why not file for inner-child support?

[–]werdunloaded -3 points-2 points ago

As long as it's about $20, I would buy it. A house, AND a dragon that's not copy-pasta from a mold? Unfortunately, something that awesome would be about $50...

[–]cupids_hitmanPS3 13 points14 points ago

This one would probably be more like $200.

[–]Kilgannon_TheCrowingflair 11 points12 points ago

Sets usually average out to being around $0.10 per piece. I'm sure that this set has more then 2000 pieces.

The reason we don't see any huge epic Lego sets is because they would simply cost too much.

The UCS Millenium Falcon was like $500 or something.

I've noticed that non-Lego enthusiasts tend to greatly underestimate how much sets cost.

[–]GammaGamesXBOX 0 points1 point ago

I want... If only digital designer still let you order custom builds :'c

[–]DFSniperflair[!] 0 points1 point ago

yeah, the best you have now is a LDD to Pick-A-Brick converter. but not all pieces are available for purchase...

[–]buhnahnuhbred 0 points1 point ago

I bet that would cost like 300 bucks. I hate how expensive Legos have become.

[–]buhnahnuhbred -1 points0 points ago

You downvote because you know it's true.
