Wait, I thought that was the whole reason she was on the show in the first place?

I mean, screening people to be on Ellen, and one girl who had cancer has a boner for Dory, voiced by Ellen? I assumed that was why she ended up sitting there with Ellen.

Which makes it seem like a gross little dance she's doing for the camera.

I guess I'm just a pessimist. I do wince/retch at a lot of things on reddit, like "as a _____ survivor, I..." and "this means so much to me because _____"

edit: okay maybe I didn't word that correctly. It's just...She's wearing Dory colors, Ellen is the voice actor, and she asks that specific question to set her up for it...doesn't that seem like she's hamming it up for the show? I mean, saying "Well, a little fishy told me to 'Just keep swimming!'" ? Who would say those words like that? It sounds so...fake, I guess. I mean, she's got to know what she's doing when she says that line to the voice actor of Dory, right? Is this just me?

She wasn't "screened" to be on Ellen. Don't assume things. Talia has a makeup channel on youtube, her channel name is Taliajoy18. Her dream before she dies in four months is to do Ellen's makeup; nothing to do with promotion of Finding Nemo. Talia is an amazing person who is trying to live her life to the fullest before it's over not promote a 3d movie.

I didn't say it was a fact or anything, that's why the unsure tone of my post...the fact that I didn't know either way for sure would mean that, if I came in thinking that she weren't screened, I would still be assuming things. They would just be assumptions that you approve of. So please, don't tell me not to assume things. I was just speculating and wondering aloud, like everyone else.

  2. That's great for her. Her dream was to do Ellen's makeup? Okay, so I got my answer: she definitely, definitely had that line ready to say to Ellen specifically because she knew Ellen voiced Dory. Thanks for clearing that up.

  3. Contrary to what you assumed, I actually don't inherently dislike cute little girls with cancer, and don't need to be told that she is "an amazing person who is trying to live her life to the fullest before it's over." The 3D movie part I said nothing about, you probably intended that for other people mentioning its release, I guess.

Anyway, yeah. I don't know if that was what you intended. But I'm glad I got a sure answer. It definitely wasn't a candid comment.

...so what? I didn't say I would avoid assumptions. Assuming is what you have to do when you don't have the facts. That's actually what I said in my post, if you read it. Stop obsessing over the fact that I make assumptions. Tunnel vision. There's nothing wrong with assumptions when all you're doing is speculating, so long as you're clear about it. Which I was. I never claimed to have all the facts or to be 100% certain. Sheesh.

Well see there's nothing wrong with that, that's kind of why I admit I'm a pessimist, I guess... because that's really okay, it's just not what I do. I guess I don't mean to say it's wrong, I just want to make sure that those feel-gooders are like you: they know what they're doing- denying reality.

It's just people gathering in droves to have those nice little moments while denying the former that makes me feel ill. I dunno. I would say maybe I'm just grumpy, but I'm definitely not.

I guess I'm just "crusty" or something. Something in my life has made me a more cynical, "realist" type person than most others. Which is weird to say, since I always thought everyone though they were the cynic, the same way everyone thinks they're the only clear-headed thinking person in a world full of "sheeple." Maybe it's not true.

In any case, I will continue trying to tear down blind feel-gooders. 4/5 times that means negative karma, but 1/5 they admit it. So maybe they aren't that blind. My karma is positive, after all.

And it's not so much "everything is always negative" but more that I am of the opinion that things are often more negative than people will accept, and I would call myself a realist because I will seek the truth regardless of how good/bad it makes me feel. However, I will accept the label of pessimist because I accept the possibility that I am simply a negative person, though that's not what I intend or think likely.

So basically, in your haste to enrighten me, I have become righter than you ever could have imagined. (that was just nonsense silliness, please don't respond informing me that "enrighten" isn't a word)

Finding Nemo is a movie many people can relate to during the good times and the bad. I think it's great this little one was able spread to the world what inspires to keep going on.
