Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

Good thing they're wearing helmets.

[–]torokunai 56 points57 points ago

and high-vis jackets so their buddy can easily follow their trajectory

[–]Lampmonster1 20 points21 points ago

Makes it easier to find the corpse.

[–]jmc_automatic 17 points18 points ago

I wonder if they're wearing anything to protect their giant balls.

[–]so_carelessly_here 36 points37 points ago

I'm pretty sure they're wearing condoms, too.

So, it's cool. They're totally safe.

[–]almcken 7 points8 points ago

and parachutes.

[–]wordisborn 3 points4 points ago

It would be even more ballsy clipless.

[–]mattindustries 0 points1 point ago

NO!

[–]Capta1nPlanet 1 point2 points ago

I can't believe they didn't wear knee pads

[–]Because_I_Said_So -3 points-2 points ago

Damn you, I clicked on this picture to make this exact comment. Upvotes for you.

[–]SkippyTheDog -3 points-2 points ago

Ditto...such is the luck of the first people to see these things.

[–]eire1228[S] 13 points14 points ago

Cliffs of Moher winds today

[–]Melforprezzz 1 point2 points ago

Ooooh fuck

[–]eire1228[S] 12 points13 points ago

Story behind the pic

And Another

[–]metalhead4 3 points4 points ago

Hans Rey was my idol growing up as a kid. The maine is a bike trials and MTB legend. I knew it was him as soon as I saw the picture. Danny Macaskill does xc rides with Hans "No Way" Rey all the time.

[–]efthemothership 11 points12 points ago

First thought was "nope, fuck every bit of that".

[–]De4thDoll 41 points42 points ago

WTF are you kidding me?? just to looking at it makes me want to shit my pants!

[–]eire1228[S] 18 points19 points ago

look at this pic of same two

[–]De4thDoll 8 points9 points ago

WOW, these people are crazy!

[–]Fossafossa 10 points11 points ago

Those people made a questionable decision, this guy is crazy.

[–]Bobzer 8 points9 points ago

Seriously though, that guys testicles must have been pounded into his lower abdomen by now.

[–]latticusnon 0 points1 point ago

He uses his legs to absorb the shocks from jumps. Which is why he also holds the seat, because otherwise he would have no control over it.

[–]thefootster 0 points1 point ago

New World Disorder! That takes me back, used to watch it before I went out and did slightly less epic stuff on my mtb!

[–]Niyeaux 0 points1 point ago

This dude is from, and still lives in, my home city of Vancouver, BC. A bunch of this footage is from local mountain bike spots, and general city landmarks.

[–]Left-Hand-Path 5 points6 points ago

Gonna need a crowbar and two extra people to get my balls to come back down again.

[–]YourMomSaidHi 2 points3 points ago

Live to tell about it and think its awesome and never forget it. Your buddy falls and dies and regret forever and never forget it. Why risk it? Keep your buddy.

[–]bobstay -3 points-2 points ago

Have you heard of sarcasm?

[–]so_carelessly_here 1 point2 points ago

Have you?

[–]poon-is-food -1 points0 points ago

I would feel more confident doing that on a bike than walking, i feel like i can control a bike better than just my legs.

[–]Rocco427 0 points1 point ago

You might want to get that checked out.

[–]uk2knerf 20 points21 points ago

What is it with you white people doing unnecessarily dangerous things?

[–]bobstay 11 points12 points ago

It's fun.

[–]daveyjonesmcgee 0 points1 point ago

Fucken white people.

[–]r0mster 4 points5 points ago

I doubt I would walk there, certainly wouldn't ride a bike. That's extra insanity with a side of too much balls.

[–]eire1228[S] 12 points13 points ago

they're not supposed to walk OR ride bikes there. people get blown off the edge of those cliffs all the time. they're on Atlantic coast and winds are brutal

[–]r0mster 6 points7 points ago

Oh I see. So do the bikes make it easier to stay up there? Sorry if i sound ignorant but how exactly does an extra 100lb help that much, especially since they are creating more surface area for the wind to push on.

[–]metalhead4 4 points5 points ago

Those bikes don't weigh more than 40lbs. And Hans Rey is a mountain biking and trials legend. Look him up.

[–]Scadilla 0 points1 point ago

Even that is heavy for a bike. 20-30 lbs sounds more reasonable.

[–]eire1228[S] 2 points3 points ago

sorry for not being clearer. they're not supposed to walk OR ride bikes. They're not supposed to be on those ledges full stop.

[–]r0mster 0 points1 point ago

Oh I see. Serious balls.

[–]Lampmonster1 1 point2 points ago

So it's even more dangerous than it looks. Brilliant.

[–]mhyquel 3 points4 points ago

This guy thought it was a good idea too. Warning NSFW. Probably dead.

[–]SwitzAK 6 points7 points ago

He's actually fine.

[–]mhyquel 0 points1 point ago

WTF, seriously this is like surviving a parachute failure.

Well, that's the end of my internet for today.

[–]whollyme 0 points1 point ago

It actually says that in the first line of the youtube description.

[–]eire1228[S] 1 point2 points ago

his friends don't seem particularly concerned...

[–]Bikenutt 0 points1 point ago

Came upon a friend who was white as a sheet sitting in the middle of the trail while riding the Downiville downhill one year. He had just went off the cliff, caught a branch hanging off the side preventing him form plunging 60 feet straight down, heaved himself back over the ledge AND saved his bike in the process. We Mountain bikers are a hardy bunch.

[–]lolpancakeslol 2 points3 points ago

Looks exciting, there's nothing wrong with wanting to live on the edge for a little while.

[–]Epiicuros 2 points3 points ago

live on the edge for a little while.

Ya then a gust of wind comes by and you fall off the edge.

[–]lolpancakeslol 2 points3 points ago

Tough talk coming from a guy who probably never leaves his house. :P

[–]Epiicuros 5 points6 points ago

Hey man, I live on the edge..... of my chair.

[–]lolpancakeslol 0 points1 point ago

Someone actually died sitting on their chair once you know. You could be hardcore and not even know it. I think the chair blew up the guys asshole or something.

[–]eire1228[S] 0 points1 point ago

and gusts of wind up there are GALES

[–]rory_guy 2 points3 points ago

Oh Ireland

[–]catchakab 0 points1 point ago

Why not just walk?

[–]QuintinT 0 points1 point ago

What fun is that?

[–]BoscoBA001 3 points4 points ago

That is when you wouldn't be called a pussy if you got off your bike and walked.

[–]superwinner 3 points4 points ago

I'd even be afraid to walk there...

[–]Lampmonster1 4 points5 points ago

I'd just let the bike fall over so it wouldn't throw my balance, and then crawl to safety.

[–]celestialwolf 3 points4 points ago

[–]irish711 1 point2 points ago

The difference is that guy survived. The two in OP's post will most definitely die, if they're not wearing parachutes.

[–]metalhead4 -3 points-2 points ago

Hans Rey will never die... well at least not from biking on anything. http://www.hansrey.com/ LEGEND that unfortunately isn't all that well known today since no one really knows who mountain bikers are.

[–]RiotActor 3 points4 points ago

Honest question: Would people even do stuff like this if there wasn't going to be picture evidence of their crazy stunt? Or what if they could never tell anyone of their awesomeness?

Sometimes I think people do stuff like this just for the sake of sharing their bad-ass-ness. But really, is the need for peer approval really that bad ass in the end? These are the things I think about.

[–]squid1178 5 points6 points ago

Would people even do stuff like this if there wasn't going to be picture evidence of their crazy stunt? Or what if they could never tell anyone of their awesomeness?

Yes.

[–]metalhead4 0 points1 point ago

This picture has veteran bike legend Hans Rey leading the way. The guy has done way crazier things. Look up Hans Rey level vibes on YouTube. Classic trials vid I grew up watching.

[–]brumbrum21 5 points6 points ago

I almost bought a Mountain biking excursion, but it was too steep

[–]Ssyphon -5 points-4 points ago

I think its time for a pun thread...here for the ride!

[–]downvoter_of_puns 2 points3 points ago

Uh, nope.

[–]unholymackerel -1 points0 points ago

yeah I'm two tired for this

[–]Ssyphon 5 points6 points ago

"Hey, that looks like a good idea..." said no one ever.

[–]xtfftc -3 points-2 points ago

Hey, that looks like a great idea (considering that you'reskilled enough.

Is it a big and mostly unjustified risk? Yes. Is it awesome nevertheless and would I try it? Hell yes.

[–]so_carelessly_here 8 points9 points ago

Excuse me, I think you dropped this --> )

[–]PrimeIntellect -2 points-1 points ago

I think that looks fucking awesome, to be honest I would probably take psychedelics and do that hahaha

[–]humpcat 2 points3 points ago

...said nobody, EVER!

[–]drunk_otter 2 points3 points ago

Nope.

[–]InitiallyAnAsshole 1 point2 points ago

Fuck the helmet and give me a parachute..

[–]bauxzaux 1 point2 points ago

That one edge looks like it's about to give out, very unsafe.

[–]stoatyboy 1 point2 points ago

So I just threw away my bike...

[–]AssCon 0 points1 point ago

what happened to the guy's head?

[–]jeepnjinx -1 points0 points ago

Better than the winding, no-shoulder road they usually show up out of no where on...

[–]attherealjosh 0 points1 point ago

Weird that this photo copyrighted in 2010 we I remember seeing this in 2007. Maybe I've mastered time travel and didn't even know it. The Internet wouldn't lie would it...?

[–]eire1228[S] 0 points1 point ago

well this story is dated 2007 and this story says 2010. It appears as though the original event was in 2007 but a group posted about it on FB in 2010 and there were concerns it would become a "thing"

[–]ninja_at_law 1 point2 points ago

I could make that on my bike 4/5 times.

[–]Beanswaggle 1 point2 points ago

One good sneeze and they are gone.

[–]ducttape36 0 points1 point ago

i disagree.

[–]wickedg3 1 point2 points ago

i envy guys with iron balls...

[–]Fancy_Pantsu 1 point2 points ago

I don't think I would even do that on foot...

[–]kalavaba 1 point2 points ago

I get shaky legs just looking at that!

[–]Primey0 1 point2 points ago

How can they sit on the seats with such big balls?

[–]DucBlangis 1 point2 points ago

This makes my palms sweaty just looking at it.

[–]lopzag 1 point2 points ago

It's Steve Peat and Hans Rey (Hans in front), both professional mountain bikers.

[–]Anaract 1 point2 points ago

seriously.. why would you risk that?

One wobble and you're dead

[–]En_Sabah_Nur 2 points3 points ago

"I'm bored. Lets blindfold ourselves and throw knives at each other."

[–]prthead55 1 point2 points ago

Nooope!

[–]reynoldslikesreddit 1 point2 points ago

I'd hop on my nope and nope the hell out of there

[–]timfbmx 0 points1 point ago

On the edge of life or death. Literally

[–]ThexJericho 0 points1 point ago

Said no one, ever

[–]blaackyy 0 points1 point ago

It's a great way to stay in shape.

[–]dirtymoney 0 points1 point ago

some people dont feel anything unless they are risking their life.

[–]Bikenutt 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, Hans Rey does this shit in his sleep, so no worries.

[–]TheOcean_Walker 0 points1 point ago

FUCKING WALK!

[–]qozm 0 points1 point ago

they should try no hands

[–]peterabbit456 0 points1 point ago

The mountain biking path near my house has a scarier ledge.

I've only ever traversed it on foot, with a rope. Since I was hiking solo, anchored the rope to a tree on one side, I traversed it first, belaying myself, tied the rope to a tree on the other side, clipped in with a harness, traversed back, and belayed myself across again.

It was kind of fun.

[–]empirer 0 points1 point ago

I never done a rode a cliff like this, but I've been on cliffs with my dirtbike that would kill you if you fell. It never seems dangerous until you look back at what you did.

[–]TYMBOM 0 points1 point ago

Ya just gotta be fuckin retarded to do some stupid shit like that.

[–]D14BL0 0 points1 point ago

... said no one, ever.

[–]hyman_shocker 0 points1 point ago

that looks awesome! totally would ride

[–]ateeism_ftw 0 points1 point ago

I am only scared because I watch House.

[–]AKBiking 0 points1 point ago

That looks like an awesome ride. I want to see some video of this. They are saying they have 3 feet of ride able surface. That is a ton of space on a bike. Yes I am sure it is beyond dangerous and stupid, but what a rush!

[–]Manhand 0 points1 point ago

Meh that water looks safe to swim...

[–]graffiti81 1 point2 points ago

So much nope there I don't know what to think.

[–]smushable -1 points0 points ago

If anyone is interested, the guy in front is Steve peat. That guy is a duuuude!

[–]jontss -1 points0 points ago

I can't even bike down the sidewalk without weaving all over the fucking place and worrying I'm going to wipe out and fall into the road to my death. These guys are fucking retarded.

[–]Decyde -1 points0 points ago

Love people like this and then when they die they think it couldn't of ever happened and then they blame the government for not installing a rail so they wouldn't fall off the cliff and sue them.

[–]Bikenutt 0 points1 point ago

He's a pro called Hans Rey. He would consider this a low-risk photo shoot.

[–]Decyde 1 point2 points ago

Pro's can still die like the rest.
