[–]Topher_Wayne 111 points112 points ago

I hope they still have Murphy keep his gun in the holster in his leg.

[–]ChainsawSam 54 points55 points ago

THIS.

It was the most iconic part of RoboCop. I will accept nothing less than concealed robo-thigh-holster.

[–]Icouldbeanyone 15 points16 points ago

If they don't, I will not spend my time watching the movie. That was one of the best things about Robocop.

[–]nefarious420 1156 points1157 points ago

The original Robocop looked like a robot, this one looks like a guy in a suit.

[–]thehalo1pistol 467 points468 points ago

Good point. I had no doubt that the original Robocop was just a dude's face and torso stuck inside a machine. This one just looks like he's wearing armor.

[–]odysseus88 92 points93 points ago

[–]JaronK 8 points9 points ago

Wow. Could reporting get any more lazy? Now they just troll reddit for quotes?

[–]comcamman 2 points3 points ago

and now they just quoted you!

[–]GrooveCombo 3 points4 points ago

aaannnddd it's quote.

[–]K0TO 149 points150 points ago

The original robocop had some clearly visible robotic parts like wires, coils, visible joint connections, and the angles were rigid/edgier.

I think the new one looks like a suit exactly because it's so sleek and smooth, as if it's custom tailored to hug the body of the person wearing it.

Admittedly robots are and are depicted as more sleek and smooth nowdays, but IMO they should try to preserve some of the vintage rigid robot look. Hopefully they'll fix it with CGI.

[–]thevoiceswontstop 67 points68 points ago

Dude, WTF! Put a fucking NSFW tag on this. I can't let my boss catch me looking at naked robot parts.

[–]weewolf 52 points53 points ago

It's only above the head you prude. Go back to ConservaRoboPedia.

[–]eat-your-corn-syrup 4 points5 points ago

or they could go the organic/mechanic mix route like Evangelion.

[–]lunartree 306 points307 points ago

This is a shot from production without effects added. Who knows what's its going to look like when it's actually done. Don't critique an artist in the process.

[–]confuzzledfather 64 points65 points ago

The new poster suggests that it's likely to be quite similar to this, with matte black dominating, and red and chrome detailing. I would be surprised if the final version looks any less batman like.

[–]tattertech 113 points114 points ago

That poster looks like it might as well say N7 and be a Mass Effect poster.

[–]DrRedditPhD 4 points5 points ago

Wow, if even uses the same font.

[–]Funmachine 200 points201 points ago

There are no tracking markers on the suit, which at a good estimation means this is it.

[–]omegatronalpha 163 points164 points ago

There are no tracking markers on the suit, in this picture, where the actor could just be off set walking like the human that he is.

[–]BassheadPanda 178 points179 points ago

Considering the lack of a glove, this is a possibility.

In other news, everyone freaked the fuck out when Heath Ledger was chosen to play the Joker. I really think everyone just needs to calm down and wait for the trailer before getting their panties in a bunch.

[–]lilmookie 247 points248 points ago

Ya. It's the excellent acting that really brought the first robocop together.

[–]MeltedSnowCone 34 points35 points ago

Well it is hard to have lines like "Bitches, leave!" and pull them off without good acting.

[–]b0w3n 40 points41 points ago

I'd buy that for a dollar.

[–]RupertDurden 6 points7 points ago

That is one of those lines that I do not think anyone else could have said with me not immediately laughing at them. It's right up there with this line from Ice-T in New Jack City.

[–]A_Polite_Noise 4 points5 points ago

"Dumbasses, leave."

[–]ifeelstabby 37 points38 points ago

Everyone freaked out when Halle Berry was chosen to play Catwoman too.

[–]feistyKarma 17 points18 points ago

Apparently even Halle Berry is disappointed she played Catwoman.

[–]lethal_weapon_five 31 points32 points ago

The lack of glove signifies they kept the arm. Which was a plot point in the first movie. They decided to cut it of demonstrating the dehumanization Murphy had to go through. It makes his struggle to regain his humanity even more poignant.

If this version keeps the arm it would hurt the character development.

[–]thatoneguy889 7 points8 points ago

I saw something in leaks from the screenplay that said that some of the armor retracts or transforms or something to make him seem more human and personable in public appearances. There's even a part where they have his wife and son take him back at a press conference, but in reality she never wanted him back, OCP never intended to let him stay with her anyway, and he doesn't care either way because he's a robot.

[–]Clevername3000 1 point2 points ago

That sounds like some really great stuff. I hope it turns out well.

[–]slighted 12 points13 points ago

the lack of glove is the extremely 'subtle' reminder that they couldn't save one of his hands (leading to the (in)famous attachments)

You can bet your arse this film has been focus grouped to shit, this is just another example.

don't take my word for it, read the script if you can find it.

[–]warballs 28 points29 points ago

I watched the old one not to long ago, I remember a scene where one of the medics says they managed to save one of his arms and the corporate guy tells them to chop it off.

[–]slighted 10 points11 points ago

yeah bob tells them to get rid of it, but this is a blatant reference to that.

[–]warballs 2 points3 points ago

Does this mean the movie is more mellow maybe? The original was pretty hardcore on the blood and gore, so much so that I doubt the new one would be well received by people setting ratings and parent lobbyist groups if they even try to get close.

[–]Madmartigan1 9 points10 points ago

What? I thought we agreed on total body prosthesis, now lose the arm okay!

[–]Jaumpasama 3 points4 points ago

I'm not going to read the script, buy do tell: does the movie retain the original's sharp social commentary? Or did they go for all-out action? I'm getting real worried about this one.

[–]Liquid_Milk 4 points5 points ago

I knew he'd be good when I googled who he was and saw this photo: http://images.newcelebritypics.com/img/celebs/images/h/heath_ledger_photoshoot-1763.jpg

[–]soykommander 20 points21 points ago

I agree but I'll be really disappointed if that's how it looks, but also Peter Weller really brought the suit to life.

[–]T8ert0t 8 points9 points ago

Weller bossed the shit out of Robocop I & II.

[–]ivanalbright 21 points22 points ago

Agreed. Hell, this could just be a training suit or some incomplete / prototype version that is a part of the story for all we know.

[–]ialsolovebees 38 points39 points ago

Are we even sure this is Robocop and not like "Future Police Uniform Beta"?

[–]slighted 5 points6 points ago

it's not like iron-man where he can walk between suits, it's a cyborg.

[–]xgeorge 12 points13 points ago

Good call. In the Iron Man movies, the entirety of the actual Iron Man costume was just the helmet, the rest was CGI. We'll see, I suppose.

[–]RomneySucksHellCocks 0 points1 point ago

Why in the hell would anyone spend the time and money to cgi a different color onto a robot suit instead of just painting it like it should look?

[–]Jaumpasama 2 points3 points ago

Cheap body armor. I'm starting to get real worried about this one.

[–]Robofetus-5000 1 point2 points ago

Here is the major issue as I see it. The original Robocop lost his humanity and became this 2 ton lumbering, cumbersome machine. I loved the movie as a kid, but I don't think there was ever a point I actually wanted to BE Robocop. Sure, he was practically indestructible, but he was kind of unwieldy as well. There really wasn't anything glamorous about him. This new version looks like a ninja. I'd bet money he doing back flips, catching bullets, and moving lightning fast. He probably has lasers hidden all over his body and I'd again be willing to bet money that the helmet we see in the new photo is some kind of glass dome with 360 degree vision. It's going to be hard to convey having your humanity taken away when you turn into the grey fox from Metal Gear (although his psychosis wasn't so appealing either, maybe Rayden is a better example). Hopefully there is still a grotesque element to what is under all of that armor.

[–]elastic-craptastic 159 points160 points ago

The original Robocop looked like a robot, this one looks like a guy in a Batman suit.

[–]elastic-craptastic 13 points14 points ago

DINGDINGDINGDING... we have a winner

[–]ScoobyD00BIEdoo 50 points51 points ago

You have to remember that this is just a picture. Suit structures are worn during filming, then added to digitally.

[–]JamesEarlRage 4 points5 points ago

idk man. id have to see his movements. fingers and such. i think that would be more convincing (or less, depends)

[–]Redsox933 4 points5 points ago

I actually like the new look. I love the old movies but you if you are going to remake a film why just do the exact same thing as the original. Assuming the film is set in the more distant future it seems logical that cyborgs would be made to be relatively the same size a a human. It would make him more maneuverable, and it would make it easier for him to use a wider variety of existing arms and vehicles. Furthermore, Robocop was never invincible so to make his armor out of a super shinny metal was just poor design, the back is far more tactical. As a side note this may be the nerdiest paragraph I have ever written.

[–]WhiteyFisk 143 points144 points ago

it seems silly to have millions of dollars in armor and leave your mouth exposed.

i know why his right hand is exposed though... that's a good idea.

[–]oligobop 55 points56 points ago

It is to retain what little humanity he had left. Plus a total robot can't make out with hot chicks like RoboCop can.

Side note: Reddit is fun just auto capitalized RoboCop. That's something for the ages.

[–]ChristianBMartone 3 points4 points ago

It uses your phone/tablets dictionary.

[–]finger_blast 16 points17 points ago

From what I understand, behind his skin over his mouth is more steel, his skin is basically stretched over a robotic skull.

[–]SpikeWolfwood 15 points16 points ago

You are correct. I just hope that the remake at least attempts to do something like this. Watching him be dehumanized and then seeing him give in to spare the heart of the woman he loved was something that made Robocop a complete character for me.

[–]awesomerobot 3 points4 points ago

This is correct — he's basically a brain in a can with a face stretched over it.

[–]JDMjosh 27 points28 points ago

Not for me. The right would not do the trick. :(

[–]feureau 5 points6 points ago

But, having robotic arm would provide more force to yank it with...

[–]Two_Oceans_Eleven 6 points7 points ago

People need to see that he's human. Or they won't trust him.

That's all I can come up with.

[–]doesntakethehighroad 4 points5 points ago

Or maybe it has retractable feature that can raise and lower it or close completely. The mouth would need to be exposed when he's speaking otherwise he'd be muffled. It's also better to see someone's lips when they speak instead of using just a speaker.

[–]cpenny20 227 points228 points ago

I just hope they don't make him super agile - doing spinning punches and leaping around like spiderman.

[–]Colorfag 25 points26 points ago

Yeah, even Tony Stark in the Iron Man suit isnt all that agile. I hope they dont do as you said, and make him into some ridiculous robotic spiderman.

[–]Xanthan81 33 points34 points ago

Us: This Robocop better not be some ridiculous robotic Spider-Man, Hollywood!

Hollywood: He won't be, trust me.

Us: He's jumping around like Spider-Man.

HW: No he's not.

Us: Wait! Is he shooting webs from his wrist?!?

HW: No, not at all! Those are just his nets. They just compress into a small compartment in his wrists for easy deployment.

Us: WHY IS HE HANGING UPSIDE DOWN, KISSING KIRSTEN DUNST?!?

HW: ...

edit: Kirsten. Thanks, RoyallyTenenbaumed.

[–]griezell 96 points97 points ago

100% agreed. Sure, the suit is a pretty big change from nostalgia, but being super agile is a bigger concern for me.

[–]Crookward 143 points144 points ago

I'm pretty sure he's going to fight like he's in the Matrix.

[–]Two_Oceans_Eleven 71 points72 points ago

I think he is going to walk around real robotic, doing normal things, like stopping rape and shooting perfectly, but then towards the end he will pull some slightly unbelievable stunt that will smell of progression in the action/CG genre.

Lifting a car just isn't impressive anymore.

[–]Crookward 77 points78 points ago

I hope he has a helicopter like the one Inspector Gadget has.

[–]buttguy 27 points28 points ago

He got a terrible jetpack in the 3rd terrible installment. I watched it 20 times.

[–]Mortarius 6 points7 points ago

Robocop was in two movies. Third one was a spin-off.

[–]ninjaneer76 2 points3 points ago

But it was still robocop right?

[–]Mortarius 4 points5 points ago

Only in first two. In third one it was his cousin CopoRob.

[–]therobotjeff 3 points4 points ago

How about we go with Robertcop?

[–]Two_Oceans_Eleven 7 points8 points ago

They better watch out before they get a sue for him being exactly like Iron Man.

But a tiny helicopter on his head instead of jet powered hands/feet would stop that.

[–]Laniius 3 points4 points ago

...I'm not gonna lie, I personally think that would be awesome. Especially if it's deployed with absolutely no humor whatsoever, as in nobody on screen comments or laughs.

[–]killermicrobe 4 points5 points ago

I hate how since The Matrix was made, everyone has tried to copied it one way or another.

[–]goldstarstickergiver 5 points6 points ago

Well that's what happens to good influential action flicks. Watch scarface, if you've never seen it before, you might not like it because it comes of as one huge cliche. Only, at the time it wasn't a cliche, it was the beginning of so many styalisms/conventions etc that are normal in action movies now. Just how it goes and all that.

[–][deleted] ago

[–]Kela3000 24 points25 points ago

[–]buttguy 5 points6 points ago

Yeah, and the thing is RoboCop shouldn't be able to jump. Like, at all.

[–]firstwords 2 points3 points ago

I never thought about this as a trope before. Off to tvtropes.org!

[–]Leaningthemoon 16 points17 points ago

I have a feeling it will be reminiscent of the tech in latest Deus Ex game.

[–]StraY_WolF 2 points3 points ago

Silly you, only japan's robot can do that.

[–]RidleyScotch 86 points87 points ago

Coupled with the grainy photo now Robocop looks like he's a sparkly silver

[–]JediWithRedEyes 13 points14 points ago

If Robocop was a car that would be considered "Pearl Silver".

[–]iDrankWhat 4 points5 points ago

I believe this is Robocop: Twilight Edition. Kill it with fire please!

[–]jsmith212600 481 points482 points ago

Here, I've improved your friend's Robocop.

[–]thderrick 186 points187 points ago

Your photoshop skills are admirable.

[–]feureau 26 points27 points ago

It is quite nice, but you can see the pixels, man. 5/10 would not bang.

[–]Xanthan81 5 points6 points ago

Plus, he felt the need to add a dong. Totally unnecessary, and shoddy Photoshoping. 2/10

[–]ElAvestruz 43 points44 points ago

Looks so real.

[–]pop_fest420 20 points21 points ago

Wait, that's not Peter Weller and his signature jaw.

[–]da1hobo 33 points34 points ago

I am upset they don't seem to be keeping the original titanium look.

[–]aaybma 51 points52 points ago

You mean the original plastic look?

[–]qs4u 6 points7 points ago

Carbon fiber is the new titanium

[–]Username20x6 12 points13 points ago

I wouldn't call Robocop 3 an improvement on anything

[–]Space_Masters 5 points6 points ago

That movie made no sense. In RoboCop's first scene, he races to the top of a parking garage only so he can drive his car off the top level. After he lands, he removes his normal hand, straps on his machine gun hand, then, instead of opening the door to his squad car, used his machine gun to cut out a circle in the roof to pop out of.

[–]Xanthan81 2 points3 points ago

Plus, the jetpack was lame.

[–]teotronix 37 points38 points ago

citizen you are under arrest for not being faaaaaabulous

[–]artemg 29 points30 points ago

I'd buy that for a dollar!

[–]Lord_Roby_Esq 2 points3 points ago

this should have more upvotes.

[–]thebenolivas 49 points50 points ago

While I prefer the original silver suit over the new Batman-esque suit, the best feature of Robocop was the voice. I can live with the new suit - it fits with a modern film (although I do feel it borrows heavily from other recent super hero films). But he better have that same voice (and really, there isn't really a reason to change that too much). Robocop's voice is just as big a part of his character as his costume.

[–]7456398521 35 points36 points ago

"Come quietly or there will be . . . trouble"

[–]pU8O5E439Mruz47w 10 points11 points ago

I'm sorry, I can't help but ask- if he is completely bullet-proof, why does he have to shoot everyone dead? Couldn't he just arrest them?

[–]LongWayToTheTop 77 points78 points ago

That was pretty much the point of Robocop. Unnecessary violence for an ultraviolent world.

[–]BurningKarma 1 point2 points ago

Which would make it necessary violence, no?

[–]ikkonoishi 34 points35 points ago

Because social commentary.

[–]baxter00uk 11 points12 points ago

Because cool movie.

[–]SiHy 18 points19 points ago

I think the real question is: if you were shooting at a bulletproof police officer who told you to put down your gun and he was completely decimating all of the people around you whilst you were doing absolutely no damage to him, why on earth would you keep firing?

[–]beard-maketh-the-man 22 points23 points ago

if you were shooting at a bulletproof police officer who told you to put down your gun and he was completely decimating all of the people around you whilst you were doing absolutely no damage to him, why on earth would you keep firing?

Bad Guy #13: Because I'm aiming for his chin, I'm just not a very good shot.

[–]decross20 12 points13 points ago

Those were the simple days. Villains were single-minded, one-dimensional. No sophistication required.

[–]yetkwai 6 points7 points ago

When you're in a fire-fight with an indestructible cyborg, the adrenaline kicks in, and you don't think rationally. You just keep firing on him with everything you got until he kills you.

[–]amon_ster 73 points74 points ago

that, and he better fight like a fucking robot. if he starts fighting like Batman or Spiderman, I'm gonna get pretty pissed

[–]DynamiteWthLaserBeam 39 points40 points ago

It makes me so sad when robots don't fight like robots. Just squish him! You're made of metal!

[–]nolemonnomelon 12 points13 points ago

YES like in I Robot where will smith engages in hand to hand combat with a robot...one of the most eyeroll-inducing scenes in a very eyeroll-inducing movie

[–]Anynomus 35 points36 points ago

didn't he have a robotic arm?

[–]baxter00uk 26 points27 points ago

Yeah but he's half robot half Will Smith. That silly iRobot didn't stand a chance.

[–]yetkwai 18 points19 points ago

Don't you mean "Half robot, half man, all Will Smith"?

[–]ihavenomp 12 points13 points ago

Yes, the way he moves is way more important to me than how he talks. A Hawking dub would be awesome though.

Dead or alive, you're coming with me.

[–]taxdocument 3 points4 points ago

[–]_NeuroManson_ 9 points10 points ago

More importantly, he fought like a robot, while the remaining human inside was fighting just to stay alive. When OCP's cops were trying to gun him down in the parking garage, despite his nigh invulnerability, he was still a man fighting to stay alive.

[–]_NeuroManson_ 10 points11 points ago

That said, I'm willing to wait until it comes out. Peter Weller did the role justice.

In the case of Batman, back in 1988, when I attended San Diego Comicon, there was major nerd rage about having Keaton as Batman and Jack Nicholson as the Joker. Everyone was "FUCK NO!!!" about it. 1 year later, it came out, and it was like watching Nostalgia Critic's Bum Review, "Oh my god, this is the best movie ever!!!".

It established Batman for 10 frigging years (cartoon version, after Batman Returns it kinda lost its luster).

But yeah, people were basing their views on a few set photos and in the case of SDCC, they took pictures of Keaton and Nicholson and scribbled on them with magic markers and then said "What, no Adam West?!? Nahhhhhh!"

[–]thebenolivas 5 points6 points ago

Well the original Robocop is essentially classic, and it's still one of my favorite films - all aided by the fact that it has aged relatively well. It's not surprising that many people (including myself) might find themselves up in arms with any perceived threat to nostalgia. Ultimately, only the release of the new film will determine whether or not the new suit was a good or bad decision. The new suit looks like a logical update - my only qualm is with his shoulders, and how it looks less robotic (and I still am not in a great position to judge - I may very well enjoy it in the film).

As a side note, the new ED-209 from the film's website looks amazing. In any case, we'll just have to wait and see.

[–]baskandpurr 5 points6 points ago

It's a generic modern armour design. Batman/Iron Man/Game Character. Designed by a committee of people with no imagination.

[–]obscure123456789 2 points3 points ago

I don't know about generic, but certainly would agree that it's derivative.

[–]ME_NO_LIKE_REPOSTS 37 points38 points ago

I wonder if the Ford Taurus SHO will be in it.

[–]ikhan209 39 points40 points ago

[–]killermicrobe 26 points27 points ago

[–]Mr_Hank_Scorpio 6 points7 points ago

Okay well at least they got the cars right. Even kept that awesome matte black look.

[–]Skitrel 2 points3 points ago

Well.... Fuck.... That's a pretty car.

[–]The_Crow 6 points7 points ago

Or the 6000 SUX.

[–]ipyop 25 points26 points ago

Just rent the original and call it a day.

[–]machetedamadman 19 points20 points ago

Still reminds me of the ninja from metal gear solid.

[–]SittingDuckNZ 30 points31 points ago

[–]neurosin 34 points35 points ago

We would have also accepted, Cyborg Ninja, Deepthroat, or Frank Jaeger. Raiden as well, if you wanna get loose with it.

[–]Jekyll_Is_Hyde 10 points11 points ago

FABULOUS

[–]cranialduggery 7 points8 points ago

I want old robocop to come back.

[–]bubbameister33 5 points6 points ago

Is he going to have that human right hand or was the actor just taking a break? Who is playing Robocop any way?

[–]mlpedroso 7 points8 points ago

Joel Kinnaman is playing the new robocop. I also heard Samuel Jackson is going to be in it as well.

[–]Tranchera 11 points12 points ago

Nick Fury is running the Robocop Initiative?

[–]b0w3n 4 points5 points ago

... Well I'll be a monkey's uncle, Marvel did print RoboCop comics.

[–]Markuz 3 points4 points ago

[–]antemon 4 points5 points ago

Please be RoboCop's voice.... Please be RoboCop's voice.... Please be RoboCop's voice.... Please be RoboCop's voice.... Please be RoboCop's voice.... Please be RoboCop's voice.... Please be RoboCop's voice....

Come and shut the fuck up or there will be... trouble.

[–]superthebillybob 3 points4 points ago

Gary Oldman is in this also.

[–]whitedevilwhitedevil 3 points4 points ago

In the original movie, the scientists turning Murphy into a cyborg were able to save one of his arms, but were then ordered to remove it by OCP. The remaining human arm/hand is likely a reference to this.

[–]fiendly 5 points6 points ago

I can see that this would be a beginning scene when Alex Murphy is murdered. His body armor (what we have seen) is then modified to suit the revival needs.

[–]homeless_man_jogging 23 points24 points ago

No. No he didn't.

[–]Rareturd 6 points7 points ago

Another Batman movie?

[–]fakeaccount123213213 10 points11 points ago

Too bad a bunch of people who never even saw the first Robocop will flock to the theaters to see this. When they finally watch the original Robocop they will say it sucks balls and that the remake is 100% better.

[–]geodebug 8 points9 points ago

Like Total Recall, the original holds up against the remake, as low budget as it now appears.

In part because back then they weren't afraid to show some blood when people got shot. Also, humor, practical effects, gravity was a real thing in fight scenes...

[–]sionjy 8 points9 points ago

its funny how bad this one image makes the movie look like... whats the next horrible 80's film? Gymkata? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gymkata

[–]pieguyfly 5 points6 points ago

GYMKATA DEFINED A GENERATION OF GYMNASTICS BASED MARTIAL ARTS FILMS!! IT WAS AN INSTANT CLASSIC. YOU LAY OFF GYMKATA.

[–]SoPowerful 5 points6 points ago

Looks like Robocop killed a unicorn and had its blood spatter all over him.

[–]raptor74205 62 points63 points ago

Even worse.

[–]girafa 186 points187 points ago

It's not that bad, I think I fixed it:

http://i.imgur.com/xgzdu.jpg

[–]ch00f 51 points52 points ago

Ugh, CG always makes people look like toys.

[–]Uberche 28 points29 points ago

Holy crap! Can they hire you to work on special effects of the film cause I'd LOVE to watch the Robocop you made there! I'd probably watch a sequel or two of it as well, even if they were corny and badly acted!

[–]flytaggart1 20 points21 points ago

Even if he somehow gets a random jet pack attachment that obviously wasn't made to increase toy sales?

[–]Uberche 15 points16 points ago

Don't care, I'll just strap it on Michalangelo and make him the new leader of the Ninja Turtles! TAKE THAT LEONARDO!

[–]Colorfag 5 points6 points ago

Dead or alive, youre coming with me.

For a second I thought my dad Murphy was back alive again.

[–]SittingDuckNZ 30 points31 points ago

Yeah, it looks like he transforms into a rock.

[–]redd9 4 points5 points ago

Rock Lords (80s toys)

[–]EricThePooh 32 points33 points ago

I still prefer the mat black

[edit] I like MAT black. Deal with it.

[–]g0greyhound 108 points109 points ago

matte.

[–]jsmith212600 34 points35 points ago

No mat like the UFC mat color.

[–]Varriable 1 point2 points ago

I prefer that Matt is black. If he was white he'd be so full of himself...

[–]ImInYourMindNow 2 points3 points ago

I actually like the contrast it gives opposed to the matte black.

[–]kilowatt757 1 point2 points ago

Looks better... needs more chrome!

[–]drowningfish17 1 point2 points ago

Still looks too much like judge dredd for my taste

[–]mcherniske 1 point2 points ago

I think the touch up is awesome. I would love it if someone from the film decided this would work.

[–]joeyvesh13 1 point2 points ago

This summer, in a world where Batman and Iron Man have a love child...

[–]RAGING__LONER 2 points3 points ago

BATMAN!?

[–]GeneralEnt 1 point2 points ago

I didn't know Bruce Wayne doubled as Robocop

[–]joey_jo_jo 4 points5 points ago

Personally I prefer the original. And Peter Weller's voice. The Robocop voice in Robocop 3 stank.

However I'm much more interested in what ED-209 will look like (if he even makes an appearance). Nothing beats old school stop-frame-animation with motion blur.

[–]davidmcdonald 4 points5 points ago

This is exactly what I thought they should do with it.....The silver is pretty iconic, and the all-black just makes him look like Batman.

[–]Crookward 8 points9 points ago

It was the 80's. All electronics in the 80's were silver, grey and black. All the stereos, the vcr's. All the shit.

[–]geodebug 8 points9 points ago

So what, you saying the new iRobocop should be covered in touch displays? :-)

He is thinner like the new iPhone.

[–]nbadog 13 points14 points ago

"what is gayer than this gay black robocop outfit? SPARKLES"

[–]s1985 5 points6 points ago

This one photo has made me lose all faith in this robocop remake that I might have had (not much).

I mean, seriously? It looks like Batman forgot to put on the other half of his costume.

First total recall, now this? fuck these hollywood sellout movie remakes

[–]steek -1 points0 points ago

well, i like it.

[–]slappa_da_bass3 2 points3 points ago

Looks like one of those guys from Jingle All the Way.

[–]TheBreadnaught 0 points1 point ago

How's he going to jerk off without that good hand?!

[–]madirishtist 0 points1 point ago

A step in the right direction. Still looks like Shepard, though, and not Murphy.

[–]fishnetdiver 0 points1 point ago

please thank your friend!

THIS is Robocop...not some bastard child of (Nolan's) Batman and Judge Dredd.

[–]Logicalnot 0 points1 point ago

Can Robocop be assimilated to a drone?

[–]Pnikosis 2 points3 points ago

It seems they managed to save his right hand, good for Murphy!

[–]KEEPCARLM 2 points3 points ago

I don't see how that suit comes to be. Surely someone, somewhere said "that just isn't robocop" now I get that it's meant to be on this modern movie trend where everything needs to be 'dark' and 'cool', essentially trying to copy what Batman did I suppose but that just looks crap, even in keeping things in that style, it still looks crap and it looks to well built to be any sort of prototype, I reckon that's the actual suit. I just hope at some point in the film robocop says he wants some chrome added to it.

[–]rudhraigh 2 points3 points ago

He looks like one of the cops in Minority Report.

[–]edude45 2 points3 points ago

Well your friend did what he could.

[–]photoshops_badly 4 points5 points ago

[–]bigrooster 3 points4 points ago

Batman called. He wants his suit back
